This is a more unusual chord progression. Long ago when I was learning chord progressions and playing popular RD tunes, I (ignorantly) concluded that he just uses a permutation and combination of basic chords, albeit to mesmerizing effect (Neil Young from your neck of the woods also comes to mind). As I started digging deeper into the barrel, I found a treasure trove of masterful compositions with complex chord progressions and changes - NaKoiDilMainSamaya; KyaYehiPyaarHai, Daiya Yeh Main

this is based on mixolydian mode or khamaj thaat ... where 7th note is flattened, or ni komal is used... this allows you play the major chord based on the 7th flattened note, or it's relative minor ...

Thank you so much for such type of priceless help to all the guitarist. I too am learning guitar. When I try to make chords for any song, It takes some time. And after several attempts I found the correct combination of chords. I want to ask you that while making the chords for a song, Do you make pick them at once or you too have to spend some time for the correct combination.

sometimes it takes time, but usually we pick it up as the song goes along ... we play in shows where you have to pick up chords as the song goes on without knowing the song :)

yes, you are right. i love their songs. you, know i even have a video of akele hain to kya gum hain in a different style(plucking). i had posted it more than a year ago.Your videos are doing a great deal of good for all budding guitarists. wish i had something like this 10 years back. Mr Jadugar, this song is one of my most fav and zillion thks for your vid. Looking at ur right hand, I cant believe U r playing it. U are at so much ease. BTW, how was your initial experience when you learned guitar? Your vids encourage me a lot but when I try, the output discourages me :-( Looks like you reached Mt. Everest by a plane and I am not even at the foothill yet. Why d hell I have to practise with such disgusting output from my guitar? When will it sound even 2% like yours?

practise an hour every day, and u will be amazed at how it will sound after a few days / weeks - it improves gradually, much like swimming, so don't expect to see a sudden improvement !!

other than practise, there are 2 other things that can speed it up - passion and ur natural ear for music - i presume u have a lot of the former, or u wud not wasting time on this page! for the latter, i believe we all have some of it - just takes a bit of patience to "train" it !!
