When it comes to food safety, you can't just rinse the machine out with "sanitizer solution".. The ice cream is caked around a lot of wires and the motor.. Doing so will ruin the machine.. BUT, you HAVE to get rid of the machine, Georgia.. It's tainted! Trying to clean it (as you say) won't do anything.. People are going to start getting sick if this fiasco continues.. FYI, My mom wasn't in charge when She found the maggots. She reported it, and when she stepped in, she shut the machine down and parts were ordered, but she even knew that it would not help the fact that maggots were in there and the whole machine needed replaced! The person who took the video (my mother) had informed the district manager, Steven Kirkley, and the DQ interstate inspector, Interstate Julie, of the problem and they treated it like it was no big deal.When she was told "it happens and it can not be avoided".You think you can just spay chemicals in a ice cream machine? NO THE WHOLE MACHINE HAS TO BE REPLACED.Its easier for them to save money and brush it under the rug than buy a new one.Now you stand corrected!!!!!!

Yeah.. The employees claim they know how to clean the machines properly.. After me and my 2 managers left, the owner hired an idiot to run the store to the ground. The owner and Corporate Inspector are aware of this and say that it cannot be avoided. It COULD if the ignorant people I used to work with would clean the machines RIGHT!!
