Excellent idea getting the kids involved. I can imagine the anticipation of having to wait a WHOLE DAY (?!?!?!?) for the annealing process.
I had an idea watching this.... how about if you used a blow-hose long enough so that the person making the ornament (not the gaffer) could stand near the "business" end and see the effects of blowing ..... actually see the piece expanding? Just an idea.
man your studio looks top notch guys. Keep up the good work. I wish there was a local studio around here that would allow me to do a demo with them. I would give anything to try and do glass blowing myself. I do torch work now and want to do blowing so bad.

Too true! Glass colorants are highly toxic!! Common additives to white glass are tin and arsenic oxides...
There must be precautions available to protect these artists!?!
