  • why?

  • Why is everyone bashing McCartney? Like this shit is better than what he did. If you want weird listen to zappa. This is just noise, but I guess we know where screamo comes from.

  • @HoboJones10 Just noise? Yoko Ono wrote and produced every single genre of music that exists in the world today, before 1975........

  • This is surprisingly fucking good.

  • Genius!

  • WHY WHY WHY GOOD QUESTION

  • I used to hang out with a bass player, who had no idea i was a huge Beatles fan since i was a kid, he got into the Beatles and had the nerve to state, "the Beatles were nothing without McCartney" lol... i was speechless of course. Lennon always sang about his life, contemporaneous/personal hands on material was his way to guide the Beatles and obviously he followed that spirit with his solo material.

McCartney went off into show biz tunes, tv ad sounding drivel, while melodic, was just bullshit

  • McCartney wrote many great songs, but so many of them like Martha My Dear sound like they came from the 1920's or even earlier. Nothing wrong with that, but they should have been "give away" songs not put on Beatles albums. Lennon had to let the Beatles die as he knew Paul was going into Hollywood mode, stage production nonsense which had nothing to do with "his Lennon/Beatles". I can only think of one Lennon song which had the Hollywood production musical feel to it, Goodnight which Ringo sings

  • What the....? :O

  • I love the Yoko-fronted POB stuff. It's so badass. Pre-dates punk by half a decade

  • @BenderWA Ringo on drums, Voormann on bass, Lennon on guitar, and Yoko exorcizing all the demons. You're right, so many of their music was the REAL PUNK, counter culture social revolutionary movement, it's birth. The Sex Pistols was just a sad imitation, then the Ramones etc, much lighter weight fluff.

  • @XenoType008 I do rate the Pistols though

  • sounds like "stuck in the 60s forever, and ever"

  • HAHAHAHAHA, what crap

  • One thing is for certain, even if you play this backward, there's no chance in hell you're going to hear devil shit on this track.

  • @IcolossusPSN You have me mistaken for someone else.I don't listen to Britney Spears.I can handle all the heat in the world.I can't handle self indulgent drivel trying to be passed off as something it is not.John Lennon was amazing and the love they had for each other was beautiful to see,but this is atrocious.

  • this is exactly the projection of art in avant-garde screams, exesive distorter and it awesomely great, IT ROCKS.

  • Comment removed

  • Kids..this is a direct result of too much acid...drugs are bad mmmk..dear god,I think my ears are bleeding. This is crap made under the excuse that it was art.

  • I don't think Ringo was the only drummer on this album....Google it at see the Wikipedia page.

  • dios mio

  • FUCKIN' GREAT SHIT!!! John Lennon was a smart man to love this woman......

  • yikes!

  • Yoko Ono definitely has artistic creativity (Hell in Paradise music video would be a good example), but this? This is horrible! How in the hell was this even able to make it's way on an album? I know, because of whom she was married to. But, could you imagine a 'no name' (with a identical voice) singing this in front of, let's say, Simon Cowell? Or Chuck Barris on the Gong Show? Needless to say, it wouldn't even make 10 seconds of air time.

  • @majustice It's an occupational hazard of avant-garde artists to make stuff that breaks the wrong rules and consequently sounds awful rather than breaking the right rules and making revolutionary new types of music.

  • an instrumental version would be awesome

  • Alan White was the drummer on this album....Before he replaced Bill Bruford in "YES"

  • @ultrabass RiNGO StARR is the drummer on this album.

  • terrible. cant believe this **** broke up the beatles

  • @symbal777 it didn't. PAUL McCARtNEY broke up the Beatles.

  • @symbal777 Sir Paul McCartney didn't break them up. John didn't, Yoko didn't, George didn't, Ringo certainly did not. They grew apart. They were a wonderful band but things can't last forever. They had to go off and do each of their own thing after so long.

    Tits man.

  • @hobosandbuttmonkeys I'd say there is much stronger argument that is was in fact McCartney taking over the "direction" of the band that broke them apart. The mere fact that we find out that he, Paul... wouldn't allow What's The New Mary Jane on ANY Beatles album proves Lennon had to let the Beatles DIE. The Beatles were always contemporaneous when Lennon lead them, but as the years went on McCartney started including his "musical stage opera" song into the band. Maxwell's Silver Hammer etc

  • still sounds cool to me. x

  • @paulsbreakfast it's just you.

  • i would like to thank yoko for my new favorite song. peace

  • It's become this mindless cliche, to tear into Yoko Ono. Musical sheep who, strangely, listen to all the Yoko videos and yet endlessly whine about them. LOL.

  • @keith904A

    WTF ???

  • Is this serious? I mean why the hell are all you hipsters saying this is better than The Beatles? The Beatles changed the world. She only makes me want to change my shorts.

  • love this. fucking beautiful.

  • I think her singing is kooky but I like the backing music as it was just Ringo and bass player Klaus Voorman laying down a groove and John playing some interesting guitar.

  • This is the combined voice of the departed spirits of 500,000 dead Iraqis, floating to Dallas or the Crawford Ranch to haunt the dreams of retired NEOCON Czar Bush, asking, over & over, "Why did you cause the death of so many innocent people? Who gave you the right to be God?" To cite another John Lennon song, "Bush, how do you sleep at night?"

  • Hey! Be quiet up there! Some of us are trying to get some sleep down here......

  • Beats Justin Beiber any day of the week..

  • How did John not just bust up laughing from this? How did he not see this for what it is? I love John so I really want to understand. I think he simply loved her.

  • I been listening to her stuff and SHIT, each song gets worse. What the FUCK is this?? Avant garde all you want but these vocals are worse than screamo which I consider to belong to the lowest pits of hell.

  • Dam bitch be all crazy an shit.....

  • Radio Friendly Unit Shifting Rock Lobster

  • @cheapholiday

    awesome

    nirvana & b-52's

  • FUCK IT no lie - I like most of Yoko's shit better than most of of the Beatles' various solos....

  • @whaaclat I prefer Yoko Ono's solo material to The Beatles. Couple of decent tracks but overall a massively overrated band. Tracks like this and "Walking on Thin Ice" walk all over the various members' solo efforts.

  • @macdoninri yeah, auto tunin' makes people sound 'good', yoko doesn't need that.

  • absolutely another one of the most untalented people on the planet. there is no way anyone should know her name. she should have been forgotten about, just after they hooked up. everyone should be sayin "who" and then when told lennons wife say "oh, yeah".

  • here come the sun

  • Go, Yoko, go! She kicks ass, IMHO. The band's pretty tight too. Voorman on bass if I recall correctly . . . .

  • What album?

  • DO YOU REALLY THINK YOKO HAS A BAD SINGING VOICE?!?!

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!

    Man thats Avantgarde...

    I THINK ITS AWESOME!!!!!

  • There is a reason Yoko never made it despite Lennon's backing. And thats because her taste is awful and her voice even worse.

Sure, Yoko is artistic. Sure, she is doing something new. But you know what, me scratching my nails across a chalkboard is artistic too, its still shitty music.

  • @ArjunaGita Right On! Her voice is like something straight out of hell. This is horrible.

  • @ArjunaGita Man but what you miss is the fact that if it wasn't for this a lot of things in Punk rock would never have happened I have nothing agianst you for not digging like many others it's just not your cup of tea (and thats the real reason why it was not succesful) but I on the other hand just love it sure it's crazy but feels so real and true and also how can you not dig the guitar playing of John

  • @Amir3793 are your nuts on fire? this was no where near helping "punk" make it main stream. this was shit, and still is shit! this was just some duffus hippster crap, put out by john to make his girl feel like she was someone in music. like linda being "part" of the band, this was john's way for her. hey, someone always likes something, someone else doesn't. but there is no talent here. so i guess we will agree to disagree about that. : <)

  • check out my yoko ono

  • primal singing/primal roar.. its not supposed to pretty, melodic... its supposed to evoke emotion and its amazing.. expand your mind and stop being a prick. if you dont like her style and music fuck off and get a life.. 5/5

  • Fuck you guys, yoko is awesome, so is her singing, my boyfriend disses her, yet I dont care :P

  • @codsterlover1234 thats true. a lot of modern day screamers tend to sound alike. and they bash this original screamer

  • @macdoninri Mike Patton or Yamataka Eye of Boredoms can do it!!!

  • I can't tell you why ... the voice can be another guitar?

  • Yoko "singing" ruined a really good song here

  • I'm not saying Yoko is a bad person, just her singing voice.

  • @rheaMDC21 it was so

  • B-) YYEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • shes a good person, but this a shitty style she should get outta it, they call it goat

  • @anime228228 haha shitty style

  • FUCK I DON'T THINK IM A SLEEP TONIGHT

her voice on this song will give me nightmares

shes like a wicked witch burning at the stake

  • @RickybLSD "Like a wicked witch burning at the stake" I love it! That's a perfect description...

  • A MONSTER track (hell, Stereolab ripped off Voorman's bassline on one of their tunes). Awesome groove, insane playing from Lennon and Yoko's riffing here is actually kick ass.

Haters hate away. "Mind Train" is another killer.

  • @zcxspam Thanks man I will definatley check it out

  • ya know how ya fart and the noise is really sharp and screachy and it hurts your ass thats what this sounds like plus y the hell am i still listening, who the hell would listen to this a second time!

  • this is fucking AWESOME,and way ahead of it's time. to the best of my knowledge this didn't become palatable to mainstream tastes 'til the nineties, and i use the word 'mainstream' pretty loosely. way to go,you annoying jerk.

  • Are you retarded? Don't give me that "you just don't get it, man" routine. This is horrid. I heard she sung an impromptu version of this song when John got shot. Whyyyyy!?

  • not retarded,no. and to whom am i supposedly saying 'you just don't get it,man'? i actually assume that anyone bothering to listen to this 'get's' it.

  • lyrics:

    why, why, why ,why

    yaeayaeyaeyaeyaeyae

    why, why, why, why

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

    why, why,why, why

    rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Dinga duh

    Wha, wha, wha, whyyy?

Yeah, you're right- this is awesome. What was I thinking?

  • dunno.

  • leave paul and put yoko and that's the result. poor john

  • i guess when you can't sing, you scream. good job in destroying your vocal chord, ms. ono.

  • this comes from yoko ono's plastic ono band album

    i have the full album

    6 songs

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen you should trash it

  • @tikikiki11

    its a collectors item

  • you guys all want to suck john lennons dick i mean i love the beatles and john lennon but this is not good

  • yoko is one big fuck up lol

explains why lennon loved her :)

    the beat is sick tho

  • This is some crazy shit. lol

  • How FUN!!!

  • The beat is good, but what the hell is screaming Yoko??

    it suck

  • this is really bad.

  • This is awesome!

  • this sounds like the 4th level of hell

  • its sounds like a good ending of well well well

  • sensational

  • What in the hell is this.

I have no idea if i love this or hate it.

  • In 1970, 45's-singles. This was the b-side to John Lennon's single release "Mother", coinciding with the release of "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band" This was his first post-Beatles single. In your face, screamin rock'n'roll.

  • That's a perfect reaction, and as it should be.

  • I saw a pig die once, it sounded just like this song

  • love it!

  • Sie kann nicht singen.

  • I LOVE THIS WICKED POWERFULL COMPLETLY MENTAL TRACK!!!! wow!! :)

  • The bass and drums in this song are smokin'!

  • Vocals - Yoko Ono

    Guitar - John Lennon

    Drums - Ringo Starr

    Bass - Klaus Voormann

  • I love this, Yoko was a head of her time, so sad people don't respect her :(

John even said that she was amazing <3

it kind of remind me of a screamo sound.

  • I have this....record store closed....what is up with the sound? You must have a bad condition 45 rpm. If you dont understand AVANT GARDE art, then dont criticize!!! Check out "Symphonie Pour Un Homme Seul" (which I have on here) that is from 1949-1950 (Not Yoko) Prosopopée (2:55) Partita (1:10) Valse (0:55) Erotica (1:18) Scherzo (2:30) Collectif (0:55) Prosopopée II (1:00) Eroica (1:55) Apostrophe (2:22) Intermezzo (1:55) Cadence (1:05) Strette (2:55)....
  • yoko = genius

  • this would be amazing on rockband! Yoko Ono's vocals would be incrediblly hard to beat and itd be so much fun on all instruments

  • Aunque la música es genial...:)

  • Oh god!! This is caotic!

  • This sounds very similar to the live song she did with john lennon on the live in toronto DVD, but that was titled dont worrie keyoto mothers only looking for her hand in the snow. Are they the same or differnt songs?

  • oh yea my favorite.

  • Um...yes...why? Why indeed?

  • I bought this record right after hearing MOTHER on the radio. I found both these songs of raw emotion mesmerising. When John was murdered, WHY became even more real to me.

  • the music is cool but yoko ono screwed it...again

  • ahead of its time
