Ride a 09 KTM 250XCW. After riding Yamahas prior to this bike, there is no comparison. The difference in speed between a Kawa and a KTM is negligble, and the rest of what you get with KTM (WP Suspension, Brembo Brakes, FMF Designed Exhaust, etc.). KTM is the bike to own, period. @famffan the older ktm's used to use a steel frame, but even then they weren't too much heavyer than the jap bikes, now they have an aluminum frame, now they aren't heavy at all.

@BadAss450R11 ...i dont think so..before that ktm i had a crf 250r...and i miss this bike when i go in track with that 250 2 stroke its a way to powerfull for me..its very hard to control compare to a 125 or a 250...and with the suspension its worst.With the yz 125 2009of my friend i go very more fast compare to my bike..just to show you how its difficult.I recommend you a Yz 125,thats the perfect bike !
@BadAss450R11 listen to mxphil4. he knows what he's talking about. I have the same exact problem. A 250 2 stroke is just WAYY too much power to ask for. And a 250 2 stroke is very bad for the track UNLESS you are a very aggressive rider and are full throttle all the way.
check out my video. i have a 250 2 stroke too. It is very hard to handle at the track and not good for it because i am not that good to ride it full throttle aggressively the whole track. I hope this helps. I am also 15 too.

I know alot of folk who are faster and better than me that ride 125's because that is enough for them. and Don't go thinking your all high and mighty and can handle it. I garentee going from an 85 to a 250 is too much for you and you will hurt yourself. Choose to ignore me and tell me your the best rider ever if you want, but I think any knowladgable rider would back me up

ei we have ktm 250sx too, just want to ask if how many ml of 2t you are mixing per L of gasoline? on our ktm we use 16ml of 2t per 1liter and the sparkplug is always wet
how do you compare?? they are pretty much the same height. the 250 sx is lighter and they have the same torque and speed. Its just personal preference if you like 2 stroke or four stroke.

i mix them 1:50...at 90% he was good with that...the remaining 10% its during the very hot and humid day my jetting was a little bit too small,and he was to rich so just adjust your mixing,keep the throttle open:P,don't run them on the iddle to longer...in another words ride it like a 2 stroke suppoes to be ride!!!:)
It is purely a jetting issue. The bike is jetted for the ratio you mix it, however your jetting needs to be sorted out. If you start messing with the mix ratio without messing with the jetting you won't be fixing anything.

thanks mate, my cusons bike is a ktm sx 250 2008 and it goes through about 2 spark plugs every ride, have you got any advice for me please mate i'd really appreciate it?

i mix them 1:50...at 90% he was good with that...the remaining 10% its during the very hot and humid day my jetting was a little bit too small,and he was to rich so just adjust your mixing,keep the throttle open:P,don't run them on the iddle to longer...in another words ride it like a 2 stroke suppoes to be ride!!!:)

It is purely a jetting issue. The bike is jetted for the ratio you mix it, however your jetting needs to be sorted out. If you start messing with the mix ratio without messing with the jetting you won't be fixing anything.

for 42 hours he have burn 4 sparkplugs...but initialy he was too rich,i made the adjustment and now he was good:)

im 15 and 6ft 5inches tall and 160 pounds and i ride dirt bikes but my parents said they would get me one and i want a 2 stroke which KTM 2 stroke would be good?

yeah Ktm have good 2 stroke...with all the little thing who made it ''ready to race''ktm are awesome..my 250sx have 38,1 hour now and i don't have problem with him but i do the maintenance seriously..i juste change spark but its normal for a 2 stroke...the only thing i don't love and its same for all ktm its the suspension she was to hard but you get used

if ur a beginner? deffinitaly the 125. The lack of power is good for beginners and it will help teach you proper technique

yeah a little bit...but he handle a lot...and in not longer he will be better....i had by a Fmf Factory Fatty with a Titanium 2:D

Thats a very nice bike pal! My buddy has a 03 250sx and it is a monster!! KTM's are race ready from the show room floor and to me they look better than any other bike.. Ride safe and 2-strokes forever!!!!
