Marsh brings his bag of excuses to every big race. Just look up all of them if you can- "I have a virus". 'I have been hurt". I feel tired and anemic". Brian Diemer never made those excuses, that's why Diemer beat him for bronze in 84.
Brimin Kipruto was the clear favourite but the way Kemboi took off at the 250m mark, like a man possessed, left everyone shocked. The guy was just too good. This not only shocked me but Kipruto as well. Just watch the video and see Kipruto's reaction after the race. It tells it all.
@SonNative You are so right! Kipruto was shell shocked. He even lost concentration to such an extent that the Frenchman almost cought him. There is clearly some rivalry between the two. They were wagging fingers at each other during the trials. Kemboi is known to talk a lot but he delivers all the same. Kipruto is the younger of the two and therefore might be planning for his response with a world record during or right after the Olympics. Don't expect anymore team running between the two.
