  • I'm doing this for Halloween. I'm also gonna make ariels costume for my friend. IM SO STOKED.

  • That's really nice. I admire your creativity and braverism. It's beautiful.

  • you should totally audition for Drag Race, even if ur not into drag. u'd be good at it

  • That was amazing, you actually made that! Very well done

  • Fierce darling.

  • Excellent job the costume really turned out great!

  • I was planning to make one for my 2011 costume.. but I could beat what you got...very impressive! good job...

  • Amazing you are very talented! Loved how similar it was to the real thing!

  • How or what did you make those Spikes???

  • okkkk um how!??!?!?

  • you did a FANTASTIC job on your costume! WOW! looks very professional. But I have to admit, I prefer Ursula's look from the movie version of Little Mermaid better though, because it focuses on my 3 favorite colors purple, lavender and black, I mean the costume you made is great but I sill like the other version of Ursula better. :)

  • its a guy

  • AWESOME job! i was ursula for Halloween some years ago... tho i did more of closer to teh animated cartoon movie of her. came out pretty good i thought :)

  • Something you might consider, I'm making this for a friend (FYI: This is a HUGE help and THANK YOU!!!!) but inside the tentacles I'm going to get a very thick boning and wrap a hard wire around it maybe even 3-4 times and maybe 2 layers of boning to *hopefully* give it enough support to lift it up like in the show! lol And did u make your own fat suit or buy it? I assume made it but just wanted to ask!! GREAT JOB!!!!

  • I love it...I went as Ariel one time so I can relate to the costume making

  • Parece uma tia véia!

  • that looks really good very close to the broadway costume...have you ever thought of making costumes to sell cuz id totally buy stuff from you...how much did it cost you to make that if you dont mind me asking???

  • i dont mind... now keep in mind this is a year long project... and a little bit is purcahsed at a time... and the fact that amount of fabric the tentacles took up... and hard wear.... and swaraski crystals... and everything... my grand total was about a thousand dollars spread over about 8 months... and im not lying to sound more extravagant than it was... it reall was about a thousand dollars at the end of the project

  • OMG thats absolutly amazinng. im being ursula this halloween, img anna try to mimic what she looked liek in the movie. butt damn you did an amazing job. if you dnt mind can you pleeassse tell me how you made the tenticles and what kind of fabric you used for the webbing. and stuff. pleasee and thankss so much <3333

  • OMG thats absolutly amazinggg. I

  • You did an unbelievable job! What were the spikes made out of?

  • so awesome! your make up too!

  • that is FIERCE i found me a new talent idea for pageants thnks for posting

  • Ok...so I am about to start making this costume and I am REALLY worried about the spikes....I read where you told how you made them however it wasn't very detailed....Are you ever gonna post a how to on how to make the spikes???

  • OMG

I really want to be Ursula for Halloween but because I can't sew or anything I'm just buying the disney one.... but im doing my hair and makeup like the show.

However, I'm going to be brunette

  • hey im gonna be ursula in the school play and i need to know... WHERE DID U GET THOSE AWESOME TENTACLES??? i have google searched it like a million times!! its impossible to find a decent ursula costume...

  • i made them... they are long cone shaped "pillows"... then the black "webbing was sewn inbetween them... then i made "spikes" and sewed them to the tetacles.... then i put buttonholes in the back of the dress were underneath i wore a belt with metal links was worn... the metal links went through the button holes and then tentacles hooked to the links... heavy but it looked good ha ha ha thanks for the comment

  • WOW WOW WOW... where'd you get all this stuff? I really want to be Ursula for Halloween but I can't find ANY good costumes.

  • i made it... thanks :)

  • You made it? That's amazing! It came out incredible.

  • Holy Cow. That's really impressive! How long did all that take?

  • Love Love Love your costume!

  • From one costumer to another, very good job! I applaud you for your tentacles. Very similar to the broadway costume. I've seen the actual costume up close, and I want to give you a hint on how to make the center front look the way it does on broadway - there is a black "web" of crocheted yarn over top of the entire green area which creates that broken up texture. Add that, or something like that to it and it will be even more amazing.

  • i never thought to crochet the webbing... i used lace with holes cut in it... it was more subtle then i thought it would be but added another layer to diffuse my appliques... but thanks for the crafting epiphany lol

  • Best Ursula Costume ever , but the make up was better the first time and the spikes WERE AMAZING!

  • Thanks so much for this!

We are planning to do TLM on my drama class and we would love to have Ursula looking like that.

How did you do the spikes on the tentacles? And can you lift those things up like they did in the end of the song?

The wig wasn't so good though, you should have messed it up a bit to make it look like more tentacles :)

    Amazing work man!!!

  • this was really great! i honestly likes the first make up job better! there is a video on youtube showing step by step instructions on the broadways Ursula make up! i didnt love the wig it was too victorian as apposed to coral reef! but the costume was really nice! i work in a costume shoppe for an off broadway theatre company and you could totally do what we do if you did that all yourself!

  • could you maybe....posibly.....hopefully post a vid of how u made the spikes?

  • pretty fabulous!

inspires me to work hard on my costume!

  • oh yeah? what costume is that?

  • wow thats outfit was insane. u did such a good job. ive been trying to make the tentacles for our next musical but they dont turn out right. wats ur secret? anyway great job. only thing i wouldve changed was the wig. but great job!!!

  • yeah the wig was deffinately a challenge... it didnt really turn out as crisp as i wanted... the wig was bought styled like i love lucy (but in white) i restyled it by teasing and shaping with pipe cleaners... the finished look was more marie antoinette then the broadway wig...but with my wig styling abillities i was proud with the way it turned out.

  • tt is gorgeous and beautiful. For an amateur, u did great and fantabulous. I love the tentacles. U will go far as a costume designer. Trust me. And, i think, halloween was just an excuse to dress up as Ursula? ahahahah... great job girlfriend")

  • oh, nah it's cool, thanks.....another video would be great though....

  • hey, great job on the costume.....how did you make the spikes for the tenticles?...

  • oh boy ozzy thats a whole nother video... ok lets see if i can explain it... each spike is 2 sets of "star" shaped peices... one side gold one side purple... i sewed the purple sides together... then took the points of the star and sewed them together... its much more then that though...they werent legitimate star shaped... and there was another peice of material in the middle...it was very involved... maybe my next video ill make one spink lol

  • Whoa I'm impressed! And I officially want to date you.

  • ha ha thanks and thanks? im honored to have an official internet crush? lol

  • wow thats amazing!

  • HEY THANKS

  • Comment removed

  • Congratulations on a great job. U obviously worked very hard on it and it paid on. U look awesome. Did u wear this outside on the streets? Well done. xx

  • ha ha yes i wore it out! it was heavy and FUN! thanks for the comment

  • Thank you for this video. I am very impressed with your work. Currently, I am designing costumes for a production of "Kiss of the Spider Woman". Your photos have been helpful in my quest to find a way to design the spider woman's cape. The director wants her cape to flip up and look sort of web-like.

  • THATS AWESOME! you'll have to send me pics of your finished peice! its funny that you are designing a spider...i was afraid that no one would know who i was and id be told..."oh cool spider costume" all night...lol... thank god that didnt happen!

  • Well done! You seriously have done an amazing job!

  • can the tenticles fling up into the air like on broadway? if so that is SICK

  • eh they can but they do not look as good as the broadways costume... they are a little akward in the air... the are obiously not as long as hers...and the are pretty much lone cone shaped pillows... i think the broadway tentacles are hinged kind of like and umbrella... but im just guessing... i wish mine could go up like that ha ha that be pretty hot... im not sure about the ones one broadway but mine weigh about 15-20 lbs easy... it was a long night ha ha

  • OMG!!!!!!! best ever!!!!!!, if i wanted to be that for Halloween, would u be able to send that to me and then i would send it right back?! this is the most amazing thing ever!!!

  • what size are ya? ha ha

  • idk, but that would prob. fit me! this was great work!

  • How did you make the spikes? The tentacles are amazing!

  • Wow...I am shocked.

I've always wanted to make a replica of this costume. You've really done a great job.

AND THE MAKE-UP? Exactly as it is on Broadway. Congrats.

  • Now that is talent... great work!

  • thanks

  • That is beyond crazy. Props.

  • hey man thanks!

  • FIERCE.

  • Wow! I'm so impressed! Props to you!

I'm a guy too and I always kind of dreamed about making this costume...but I could never figure out how to do it. This looks realy good for a homemade costume. However did you make those awesome tentacles??!?!
