The author of this poem that Brakha Cohen is singing is actually a Yehudi from Juban. Yes, that's right folks...a Yemenite Jew from the city of Juban wrote this poem! I didn't know that until I went to Yemen and found that out...I wish I knew his name though...you see ladies and gents...I am currently undergoing a project on writing about the history of the Yemenite Jews who lived in the city of Juban, Yemen. I hope it goes well...omein omein
@JubanTeyman24 I had noticed that the name of humhuma is quite common in the district of juban. Alot of the jews left the region in the late 30's for the city of aden. They were skilled in carpentry, silver and agate jewellery aswell as weaving cotton.
Oh yes, your absolutely right. Some Jews from Juban used to work in Aden during the British rule of Aden. I have a list of some of the family names like Beit Al-Omeissi and Beit Al-Jubani to name a few.
@JubanTeyman24 What you should understand too that there were jewish families that migrated from other areas of yemen, such as sana in the north or even from shabwa in the south and settled in the juban district. There are a lot of names and some can easily trace back to their true tribal root with evidence, but too ashamed to do so. Its a taboo subject.
