3 types of tomatoes, 2 types of corn, 4 kinds of peppers, cabbage, lettuce, 3 types of radishes, 2 types of cucumbers, 2 types of zucchini, pumpkin, beets, turnips, potatoes, leeks, onions, chives, okra, brussel sprouts, silverbeet, beans, peas, and strawberries. We also have a few different kinds of mint, some basil, thyme, and coriander in pots. We will soon work out what to put in for our late summer/fall plantings. I think I got it all. lol
I think its a lilly pilly, if you crush a leaf, does it has a sweet smell, if the fruit is as big as your finger nail and is an oval shape, quite fleshy and has a single seed in it, it just might be. You can actually eat the fruit of a lilly pilly, they are yummy and sweet.
Red/orange berries? Does it have major, thorns too? In Albuquerque, New Mexico that shit is planted, everywhere along fence lines, or cinder-block fence lines, there(very popular/& stucco) They plant this crap along to grow on walls, no-one in right mind wants to climb/cross.
Great Stuff, Gang. It's here in Denver, too, nasty stuff:)
Red berries. Gnarley, twisted branches that are capable of growing through and into one another. No thorns to speak of, but the inner part of the bush is dead. They might as well be thorned when you are cutting. lol
Are you sure it is planted? Here in Oz, where it is a non-native plant, birds carry the seeds all over Oz in their droppings. Under powerlines, fences, etc. ugh.
I hate those bushes so much, I don't even want to know their proper name. ;)
I'm dead serious. I still have about 5 of the overgrown beasts to remove. When I think of it, I'll try to get inside one of the damned stains and snap a photo. They really DO grow into and through one another. I've never seen anything like that. Well, Sigourney Weaver (Sp?) might disagree. lol
I know, your serious.. I am a visual guy.. Your discription, was priceless & funny, (but not really mate). Hell just to get rid of some frustrations, I wish I could be there to help the distruction. Right on, with the bird thing too.
I've read so of the comment on this video I don't get it, what the big deal with all the bush hating, what so bad about them? And YES I'm not Australian;) Cool video though *****stars;)
From what I can gather, the bushes were imported to Australia several decades ago, long before people even thought about what non-native species can do to an ecosystem. The particular bush in question is low maintenance and easy for gardeners to use in their gardens. Unfortunately, if left unattended, they become rather feral and begin growing out of control. Let's not forget all the berries/seeds carried around in the dung of the birds that eat them. Poop. A new bush!
Loadie, get this stuff called round up. Dbl what ever is says on the bottle to mix with water. Grab a brush cutter( hell even big garden shears and just hack away as much as you can Then spary the round up over all the broken barnches.
I've heard of that approach. It was, of course, after I had already taken them down. I'm just covering the stumps in mulch to accelerate the decomposition. Removal is done by hand. Glasses, schmasses.
