  • Nooo way this must be a kid reviewing this game nooo, i'm over 30 and i played this game when it was launched, for me Megaman games are too important I love these series but I think this kid is reviewing Megaman 5 with the score of 9 only for the popularity of Protoman, for me Megaman 4 was the most dark and dramatic story on this franchise, Dr Cossack is too much more interesting, he is a good scientist forced to destroy Megaman to save his daughter, for me Megaman 4 was the last good megaman.

  • i still prefer 4s story

  • very hi quality game for nes

  • I never liked MM5 that much, the robots were kinda dar and the music was doram put.

  • Metal storm came before megaman 5, so i dont compliment it for having the first upside down system since it didn't.

  • i feel like super mario galaxy got alot of its upside down level ideas from the gravity man level in this game

  • What score would you give MM10?

  • can't fut with Megaman

  • MM5 isn't bad at all, just a little different from the rest. As for the charge mega buster making things to easiy... well, the P.Shooter did worse to MM2 Robot masters and their weaknesses made them die in 2 or 3 hits, which made it way too easy.

All in all great review, it's one of my favorite MM games.

  • truthfully, i only had one gripe with the game.

it wasn't hard enough for me

1 and 4 were great with that

and 3 was a bit close

    2 is overrated

    but 5 is still good

  • Finally, someone who gives MM5 the credit it deserved. I don't see what people were complaining so much about, but I found it to be a great addition to the MM series. The power ups aren't nearly as bad as people say they are. I found Crystal Eye far more useful than Gemini Laser, Charge Kick helps with enemies that are low or come at you while you slide and such. Power Stone is really the only bad one I can think of.

All in all, I give you a thumbs up, man.

  • very slow music in mm5, mm4 is definitely better. Gravity man's stage was great, but come on the charge man's stage? What the heck are chickens doing in a train!? Most of the stages were lame in this game.

  • This is possibly the most positive MM5 review I've seen so far.

  • This is actually my favorite Mega Man after MM3. I'm not sure what it was about 4 and 6, but for some reason those didn't appeal to me as much as MM1, 2, 3, 5, and 9. I'm not counting 7 and 8 because they're not 8-Bit, and therefore are inferior classic Mega Man titles.

  • @Jeffieboi do you know about the 8-bit remakes?

  • Oh...I think the only thing I didn't like about this game was the annoying sound effect it made whenever you killed an enemy. None of the other games had that sound effect.

  • This is actually one of my favorite Mega Man games...just cuz I remember it so well from my childhood. It also has some of the best music.

  • neverchris what is with your generous ratings? 9 out of 10! Come on, it isn't that good.

  • I will say the stages were good ideas, Starman, gravity man, fighting on a train etc.

  • Of the NES games, this is probably me least favorite, the BOSSES WEAPONS ARE AWFUL, BORING, and very inneffective vs. other titles.

Mega Man 6 was very nice, fun weapons and JET MEGA MAN! Underrated game.

  • Well, I disagree about the pacing. What you say about the charge shot is somewhat true, but at the same time the enemies drop much less energy, do more damage, and instead give you 1-ups. This leads to more deaths and more repetition. I was also surprised to see leaps of faith in some levels, which I hadn't seen (iirc) since MM2. Can't say I agree about the bosses being better either (except for gravity man), charge man and stone man are very simple and easy. It's a strong 7/10 for me.

  • I'd nail it with a 7/10 as well...It's still alittle uninspired...BUT 6 takes the cake as being the worst easily...4 and 5 are at the same level, but 2,9 and 3 are the cream of the crop

  • i like blaster master than this

  • thats gotta be the easiest megaman game ever, it was the best too though ps darkmans a jerk

  • 6 was pretty easy.

  • I feel so ashamed that I've never played megaman =( are the old ones on virtual console please reply!

  • i think only up to part 3

  • Same with me. However recently, I pulled out my NES, bought Megaman II and I just was attached to it. It was so awesome! Now I just bought Megaman IV and it's still a blast! You should really get these games.

  • You can play Mega Man 1-8 on PS2 if you get the Anniversary Collection!!! You have to get 9 off Virtual Console.

  • can you review LEGO Batman

  • Why cant people be like you and be SENSICAL on the reviews?

  • Wow really? 9/10 for Mega Man 5?... who knew...

    -- God Bless.

  • This and Megaman 8 are my personal worst megaman games.

  • I liked the game, I mean it IS Mega Man after all, but this is my least favorite of the NES games. My main problem is that Capcom overpowered the mega buster to the point that it rendered finding each robot master's weakness pointless as the mega buster was almost always more powerful. In Mega Man 4 the mega buster was narrow and so landing shots took a bit of skill (just a little), but here the thing is the size of a friggin planet.

  • Wow you liked 5 more than 4? I have to admit I wasn't expecting that.

  • ok review but u shouldve explained the storyline.

  • Mega Man's 5-8 are very underrated, IMO.

  • wat story line ROFL he explained its simple protoman went bad lol

  • I totally agree with you Chris, amazing review

  • Didn't Metal Storm have a upside down engine? Was that before Mega Man 5?

  • Not sure but that would be cool to check out if ti does. The only other upside down game I can think of off hand is one of the Mickey Mouse games on Genesis.

  • There are plenty. I just cant name many.

  • Yeah, I think Metal Storm came out before Mega Man 5.

  • Love this one. Have 2 & 5 for NES on my shelf.

  • another amazing review, I I agree with Thanyou 4 was one of the best

  • people thought your next review would be madworld or something

  • m for Wii reviews... it could be MadWorld... could be something else... we shall see.

  • I still think 1, 2, and 4 are the best

  • Now I know ya'll be lovin this shit right here
