That's outstanding! The cinematic effect of the opening shot and the closing shot of Benton are particularly strong. God, I wish I had those sorts of gizmos - the potential is staggering.
I have always welcomed comments of both positive and negative criticism on my videos. I also only ever delete comments that are spam or are solely a personal attack. However, unfortunately, some members of the digitalspy forum (I'm not a member) have decided to express their dislike of my videos by posting hurtful non-constructive comments and other attacks. Therefore, I'm suspending comments, voting, and responses.
I enjoy sharing videos and ideas with other filmmakers, fan filmmakers, and Doctor Who fans in general. I like hearing peoples opinions either way and appreciate that most of them are encouraging. Yet I see no point in their motivation except to cause hurt to a fellow human being they don't know & have never met. This is just an explanation and I adamantly desire that no one return any hateful or hurtful remarks to these people on YouTube, digitalspy, or anywhere.
The clouds were stock footage graded to match the original footage. The snow was done using CC Snow as a starting point and then enhancing it with other techniques in After Effects. Finally the entire thing was color graded and then treated with Magic Bullet Looks.
I wonder why in 1971 they spent time and money on the effect of the head deflating and then used an inappropriate white out effect instead. It must have been considered too scary...
That's what I've been told by people I've talked to who worked on the production. Even today the effect would probably be questionable. It's done very well and effectively.
It was deemed to frightening by the head of drama at the time, he told Barry Letts it had to be removed. If you're interested in this era Barry Letts book Who and Me should be your first port of call.
Not really. It's 11 April, but you'll be seeing trailers and other media for it soon building up to the big day - and it's not just a one time thing. We've done something very monumental for online media, and it'll blow everyone away, I promise. You won't be disappointed, but I'm afraid I've said too much already...

Bravo, what did you use for the clouds and snow? were they both plug-ins or stock footage?

Beautiful work my friend.
The snow and moody sky completely changed the feeling of the scene, the music helped immensely too.
