  • Awesome song

  • now im wishing i wrote ths song!

  • Yes I know you stuped mia one loves one you

  • this isn't the Judy Garland version, this is Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's cover (or as someone put it 'bro iz the hawaiian guy'?). That's why there's a ukelele (and a bit more fast paced). That and apparently Matthew Morrison auditioned for Glee with this song (this version and all) and the show always tries to incorporate the songs the actors auditioned with into the show.

  • I love this but my history teacher sand this at an opening mass and he was way better :)

  • Love it so cheerful :)

  • What pics did you use because i have been trying to find all of the ones like 1:00

  • @bluejay198327 Go on Google and type Glee Photo Booth

  • It's Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

  • great song :-)

  • great video :-)

  • @Mia1Loves1You It is obvious that they are recreating the cover done by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole but this is only a cover. The actual version, the best one for me personally, is the first version. It was written by E.Y. Harburg and the music was by Harold Arlen. It was made for The Wizard of Oz (1939 film) and its first performer was Judy Garland.

  • AMAZING

does glee sing like every song?

i love glee no mater how many songs they sing!!!

my fav episode was the justin bieber one

  • What episode was this? I forgot.

  • im sorry but i hate this verison , there is no emotion in it

listen to the orginal and listen to the emotion Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole puts in it

  • I remember when Matthew Morrison was in LMNT (a boy band) hahaha I still listen to them xD

  • did anyone else cry during this song?

  • Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's Somewhere Over the rainbow/What a wonderful world is inspirational, to me at least. Sorry glee, maybe you shoulda just used the track for this one, or left it out. I may have faithfully downloaded every one of your other songs, but this one...I think I'll stick to Iz.

  • 2 people have Aids ;)

how can you possibly hate this song ITS AMAzInG!!!!

  • Weird...2 people missed the like button ;)

  • This was my graduation song, so this song always means a lot to me.

  • @Mia1Loves1You The Original was by Judy Garland. But I'm pretty sure they're covering the version by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

  • This is gonna be my first ever ukulele song, it's so beautiful and it means so much to me! :)

  • Durp, someone else already replied....sorry. xDD

  • @Mia1Loves1You, this may be a little late and you may have already found it but you're thinking of Israel Kamakawiwo' Ole's version of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow.' One of my favorites. Enjoy. <3

  • if any1 knows where i can get hold of the sheet music for this then please can u let me know =) thnx

  • Original song is Judy Garland's or older.

There are many covers of this song, but this one is so sweet.

  • One of my favourite song in Glee

  • 1:34 - the perfect couple......they should lots of healthy children.

  • luv shue and puck:) <3

    xx

  • who's the original artist of this song?

I know it's not by glee..

my teacher plays it in class all the time.

    and It's a m,an singing it.

  • @Mia1Loves1You I'm not sure, i think its elvis presley...., t the original doesn't sound like this, the stanza and bridge's tone is not the same as the glee's version... only the chorus

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics They did a cover of Israel 'IZ' Kamakawiwo'ole's version, Which was made popular in the 90's........

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics JUDY Garland made this song famous in the Technicolor Movie: The Wizard of OZ . She played Dorothy. Spin Spin Spin the tales :)

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics and @Mia1Loves1You there's a version that was done that is a mix of Somewhere Over The Rainbow and What A Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. It's absolutly gorgeous:)

However I may be wrong on this, but I think it's from the Wizard of Oz:p

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics Actually, the original artist was Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics its actually israel kamakawiwo'ole :)

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics its actually by Judy Garland, since its from the wizard of oz :)

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics its israel kamakawiwo'ole

  • @RobHiroVidsLyrics no its judy garland

  • @Mia1Loves1You ----

The Original singer of this particular version of the song is by a Hawaiian singer named Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole. That song though, is based on the song from the 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz".

  • @Mia1Loves1You just type in " Over the rainbow - Israel" to youtube, i cant remember his last name cos its foreign and complicated lol

  • @Mia1Loves1You

    Israel Kamwahauwhkahwakwhahwakauwhaahhwuh

or however its spelled. Some tribal name.

  • @Mia1Loves1You the original singer was Judy Garland from the wizard of oz movie

there have been some re-recording of this song

  • @Mia1Loves1You Israel Kamakawiwo'ole is the artist

  • @Mia1Loves1You

Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole is the "original" of this version of the song.

  • @Mia1Loves1You

    I think it's a cover of israel kamakawiwo'ole's version.

  • @Mia1Loves1You I'm sure this is quite late but I actually believe the original was by a man named Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole, not Elvis. It's quite easy to find here on the the tubes ^-^

  • @Mia1Loves1You

se llama israel kamakawiwo ' ole

    "IZ"

esta muy buena en la versin original

  • @Mia1Loves1You theres a version by israel kamakawiwo'ole which is like that. hope this helps.

  • @Mia1Loves1You It think the original is sung by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

  • @Mia1Loves1You I think it comes from The Wizard of Oz, it's a song which is sung in diz comedy

  • @Mia1Loves1You umm the real arttist of this song is Judy Garland

  • @Mia1Loves1You this version with the ukulele was performed originally by israel kamakawiwo'ole a hawaiian singer death in '97

  • @Mia1Loves1You is that a joke? It's from the Wizard of Oz and was written for Judy Garland. How old are you? lol

  • @Mia1Loves1You the music is by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg. It was written for the movie The Wizard of Oz, and was sung by Judy Garland in the movie.

  • @Mia1Loves1You This song was from the movie 'The Wizard of Oz' and it was sung by Judy Garland in the movie.

Her voice was kinda deep so you might have mistaken her for a man. :D

    Hope this helps!

  • @Mia1Loves1You its 'somewhere over the rainbow' by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole

  • @Mia1Loves1You Hey there, the real verson of Somewhere over the rainbow is from "OFFICIAL Somewhere over the Rainbow - Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole" First thing u find when u seatch on youtube;b

  • @Mia1Loves1You the original is israel kamakawiwo'ole, R.I.P Big Guy :')

  • @Mia1Loves1You

The guy's name who does that version of the song, originally is Israel Kamakiwo'ole :)

  • @thatguywholikesbush

    thanks :)

I keep getting responses, figured I'd say thank you ^_^

  • @Mia1Loves1You

Judy Garland from the movie Wizard of Oz

  • @Mia1Loves1You i THINK it is isreal kawasomething'ole. a big man with a ukelele.

  • @Mia1Loves1You

Actually this song was originally written for a movie back in 1938. It was sung by Judy Garland in the movie "The Wizard of Oz". Music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg.

  • @Mia1Loves1You The ukelele version is by Iz (Israel) Kamakawiwo 'ole :)

I think that's what they based this version on.

  • @Mia1Loves1You I think its Jury Garland ?!

  • @Mia1Loves1You The "original" artist who sang this song first was Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz. It was written by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg.

If you are asking who was the one to start this version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, that would be Israel Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and it was a medley with What a Wonderful World.

  • @Mia1Loves1You it was written for the movie The Wizard of Oz, and was sung by Judy Garland, but one of the most famous version is from Israel karamawawo =)

  • @Mia1Loves1You I think the original is sung by Israel Kamakawiwo 'Iz' , a very talented man ;)

  • @Mia1Loves1You his nickname is IZ, his real name is too long

  • @Mia1Loves1You It's from The Wizard of Oz, and originally sung by Judy Garland. It's true that a guy made a cover version with a ukulele, but that's not the original :)

  • @Mia1Loves1You the original artist is Judy Garland and the official song is the soundtrack of Wizard of Oz

  • @Mia1Loves1You its israel kamakawiwo'ole

  • @Mia1Loves1You it's Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole (:

  • @Mia1Loves1You Harold Arlen is the original artist...but it's been covered a million times. This version sounds very similar to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole cover of the song. Give it a listen and see what you think.

  • @Mia1Loves1You It's Israel Kamakawiwoʻole

  • @Mia1Loves1You The original is from the Wizard of Oz and is sung by Judy Garland, but Eric Clapton's cover is one of the most popular covers of it and might be the one you're thinking of :)

  • @Mia1Loves1You The original of this version is by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole.

  • @Mia1Loves1You it's Norah Jones , she's singing that in the musical comedy (Magician d'oz) (I think)

  • @Mia1Loves1You Do you really not know what to do, to find out who is the original singer? Just write Over the rainbow and the name of the original singer comes up.

  • @Mia1Loves1You It's originally by Israel 'IZ' Kamakawiwoʻole. Search 'IZ over the rainbow' :)

  • @Mia1Loves1You

    Frank Sinatra I believe

  • @Mia1Loves1You The original is sung by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz. It's one of the most successful songs to come out of a musical.

  • @Mia1Loves1You It' was done by Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz"....and "Glee" ruined this song like they ruined "I Want to Hold Your Hand".

  • @bender1958 thenwatch the original if you don´t like this version

  • @katha17012000 I plan to watch (and listen) to the original version of this song (as well as the original version of "I Want to Hold to Your Hand") because the originals are a helluva lot better than the "Glee" versions.

I also find it frightening that a lot of commenters on this video do not that the original version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" was sung by Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz".

  • @Mia1Loves1You isarel kamakawiwo'ole

  • @Mia1Loves1You

It may be elvis presley but i know that Bro Iz the hawaiian guy sings it. This song sounds just like the version he sings. :) Maybe that will help?

  • @Mia1Loves1You originally the song was sang by Judy Garland. Someone else composed it for her

  • @Mia1Loves1You Its from "The Wizard of Oz." The main character, Dorothy, played by Judy Garland sang the original version.

  • @Mia1Loves1You I know it's in The Wizard of Oz. But thats the only place I've heard it from.
