this is a cool start to free enegery but is there a way to step up the power to make it useful such as puttin a coil in there or a transformer ? i understand if you put a transformer in there you can step up the voltage but will it give you a higher amp draw ? cause high voltage is useless if its pushing no amps...
can anyone tell me whats so special to "earth batteries" people are experimenting with it?
i mean.. you put two metals in an electrolyte (wet earth, vomit, catshit) , one metal gets eaten away and releases electrons. the bigger the electrode(s) surface the higher the amps. there is absolutely nothing special about it that would keep ME busy experimenting with it, so whats the magic to other people?
@allgovsarecriminal Because if their is a free energy source no one is going to tell us about it so people start messing about with stuff to see what they can get. No harm in trying! Also in the U.S. tellegraph poles were powered by earth batteries and messages were sent over hundreds or miles so they obviously have a use. Oh and its not magic its just electricity.
but the energy isn't free as the cathode metal will corrode away while providing electrons. you have to replace it with a *NEW* rod.
the only free energy is the energy difference between sun->earth surface->free space, so the only sensible way to "produce" energy is to use solar power. but yeah - i understand its simpler to stick two metals in an electrolyte, connect some blinky and ignore the facts.
@allgovsarecriminal Ok perhaps not free but it is a very simple , clean , and easily replicated power source and a well made battery will work for a surprisingly long time so why knock it. If we all do a little maby we can make a difference. Oh and whats is " blinky" and which facts are you refering to?
@allgovsarecriminal Yes, You r absolutely right. I got high amps and volts with copper and aluminum but it's a dead loss for precious/expensive metal like copper coz electrolye corrodes it very quickly so this ain't a free source of energy at all.
@allgovsarecriminal tesla had generators with no moving parts and no conventional "fuel." this is the best we can get without special access to suppressed designs. im thinking the simple aspects at work here are what tesla based his more advanced technologies on.
@allgovsarecriminal hey, perhaps somebody should have said similar to Tesla, Marconi, John Baird, etc et al, perhaps they could have used sage advice and profound insight from one so enlightening and illuminating as oneself
WOW! Magnificent! Here's a generator idea. Put 5 fans inline in a tube (wind tunnel ish), blowing towards the last fan that has been converted to a generator; to charge a battery? eh?
first time ive seen this kind of power have you tried pulling atmospheric electricity 100 volts per meter above ground level for more on this google (atmospheric electricity) back to your earth battery( wich is brilliant) i think the ph of the soil makes a differance maybe you know this, at one electrode you could use lemon juice at other lye or something milder, lye comes from wood ash
Do you think it's the length of the wires that give you more amps or the mass of it all, i.e. one could just bundle them into a ball?. Although I am familiar with the alignment with the earth magnetic dip part, there seems to be fence belonging to my neighbor preventing me from adding long wires to my earth battery. :(
Maybe I could run many wires parallel to each other?
Lasersaber how long your magnesium ribbon lasts?? What are the specs for the little motors?...Thank you for sharing man...cheers

they wouldn't run day after day because after a short while, your magnesium would be all used up and would need replacement

How many milli Ampere Hours does such a battery store? When do you need to change it (if you run an 1.5 volts 1 W bulb?

I perfected the earth battery its on my favorites

Great job! Could you tell what is the size of the area you used to make your earth battery reaching 100+ milliamps?

Very nice. First time I have seen someone actually power a significant load directly off an earth battery. Do watch out for lightning though.
