  • GOOD NEWS...MEDICAL CENTER COMES TO DVD JULY 11, 2011...GO TO WARNER BRO'S WEBSITE

  • I remember when this aired every morning on TNT in 1990, The days when TV was good. Why cant tv be like this now, sighs

  • didn't the first season not have this funky music???

  • Loved Chad Everett! Why can't my doctor look like him?

  • This show was AWESOME

I use to watch this on Pat Robertson's CBN and later on Ted Turner's TNT

God Bless Chad Everett and MGM The Company that also owns Medical Center, Logan's Run, "CHiPs", American Gladiators and of course, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

  • Medical Center was a great show. I used to watch it all the time. It was TV's longest-running medical drama until ER passed it.

  • My older sis studied nursing in college around the time this came out- her professors told the class to watch this as it was the most realistic medical drama at the time.

  • Happy 74th Birthday Chad !!!

Wishing you all the best !!!

    Thanks for the memories !!!

  • This, along with St. Elsewhere, were the two greatest medical drama on TV. Who can never forget the episode where Robert Reed got a sex change. I refer to that episode as "When Mike Became Carol."

  • Chad Everett! Chad Everett! Chad Everett!

  • Back in the early seventies, Me and my friend use to imitate those two doctors that come running, at the end of the intro....It was funny.

  • Never missed this....I really liked the doctor shows. Of course now we have the real doctor shows but there's just something missing. I guess the old shows like this were sort of like soap operas, but I really liked them anyway.

  • Yahhh! Loved the opening music.. even tho i was oly like 5...

  • I had never heard of this show(as far as I remember) until today when I started googling medical dramas from the 60's/70's ie ben casey, marcus welby, this one. The theme is gloriously 70's and I wish shows like this and the other classic medical shows would be released on DVD.

  • Yep, Chad Everett was just like HOUSE -

    LOL

    It was a great show.

    It got me into medicine.

  • I always loved that just barely in tune synthesizer at the beginning of the theme, playing that long glissando.

  • I agree with you TV Land is great but they are getting to stupid showing Show like Class Reunion and allother updated Junk like that on there network.

  • i agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rebel70s MEDICAL CENTER THE FIRST SEASON IS AVAILABLE TO PREORDER AT WBSHOP.COM THE STREET DATE IS 7-12-11. ALL MEDICAL CENTER FANS SHOULD ORDER THIS SET. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL RELEASE ON SEVEN SEASONS OF THIS CLASSIC MEDICAL DRAMA.

  • Good show. O. J. Simpson was in an episode--before he killed his wife and the waiter who served her last meal.

  • When i watched this TV series, I was very young. maybe around ten. i could not understand too much about it. But now i still remember the operation theatre with 'audience' above.

The intro brings back some memory. i am excited to see the ambulance.

  • My mother was a nurse, and she HATED this show.

  • Any reason why, and also, what does she think of the current shows?

  • ladies....chad everett or james brolin? which one and why?

  • Personally, I liked Chad Everett with his gorgeous eyes and nice body. James Brolin as Dr. Kiley always looked like he never washed his hair. Plus his ears looked too big. I just wish my doctors could look as nice as Drs. Gannon and Kiley :-)

  • @AmazingG07 Word has it that Mr. Everett proclaimed his wife as 'property' on a talk show, prompting a female guest star to abruptly walk off.

  • Chad Everett had quite the bulge when he wore his scrubs.

  • i thought there was another version , maybe the first year... anyone??

  • The first version was all meical calls and dialog. Very sterile and to the point. This was from season 3. Season 2 had a very simular sound, but cleaner. I've been looking for that one too.

  • me and my brother use to impersonate those two doctors that run in at the end of the intro when this show premiered back in the mid70s.thanks for taking me back in the days......bigbadwolf

  • VERY 70's.

  • What a great intro song and show for the '70s. Hard to believe that this classic is not shown on TV Land or anywhere else.

  • Love this theme, very early 70's. Thanks so much. and Chad Everett YUM!!!!

  • Did Lalo Schifren compose this song?

  • Yes, Lalo Schifrin composed this theme which, if I'm not mistaken, was not used in the opening credits until the second season of the series - though Schifrin's involvement with "Medical Center" went as far back to his scoring of its pilot, "U.M.C.".

  • The theme was also issued on a Verve 45. A Hank Williams song was on the B-side (!!)

  • As kids we watched this because there was nothing else on. We saw "adult" shows with "adult" themes. Now it is all geared to the under 20 crowed.

This is the show that got me into medicine.

  • What a spectacular theme!!! I remember sitting in front of the TV as a kid, watching this opening, then going off to bed. I can't remember much about the show itself, but the theme is second to none!

  • for all you trivia buffs, here's a little bit of info. The minimoog and hammond organ parts of the theme were played by james Hooker. You can google the name and get more info on his music. Also he has some postings on youtube also.

  • another great '70s show buried in vaults...all these channels and no one can play reruns of old stuff like this?

  • exactly. I dvr Marcus Welby but would love to see this show again..

  • Marcus Welby. Older dr handsome sidekick. Medical center. Older dr handsome sidekick.

  • I wanted to watch this as a kid b/c I always thought the theme music was so cool..

  • Oh, the memories!

  • I`ve been looking for this all over, and at last found it here! Great theme music, same as I thought nearly 40 years ago. Thanks very much for posting this, Tbbw!

  • I KNOW ITS AWESOME!

  • Another great theme from Lalo Schifrin, the guy who also did the Mission: Impossible, Mannix and original Starsky and Hutch themes.

  • Don't forget his writing of the "Cool Hand Luke" music... the tar-sequence was the revered theme music for many an "Eyewitness News" broadcast in many cities!

  • REALLY? It's been a while since I've seen "Cool Hand Luke"...this might be a great reason to watch it again!

  • Enter the dragon and dirty harry movies. Guy still making em.

  • Before "Chicago Hope", "Third Watch" and "ER", there was "Medical Center" Hoping TV Land would air the series. And hoping to be available on DVD ??

  • Great opening. I remember it was on Tuesday nights on CBS? I was 10 years old, so my memory could be a bit shaky. But I think that's correct.

  • this one of my favorite tv show themes. I wouuld make sure I made it home just in time to hear the theme. This theme song was FUNKY!!!!!!

  • I forgot all about this for almost 30 years, but I agree that theme music was among the best.

  • Debuted back in 1969. almost 40 years.

  • Oh, wow! I had such a crush on Chad Everett when I was younger. This was my VERY favorite show and I loved this theme song!

  • This was a great show. Chad Everett was hot!!!

  • This is my all time favorite Medical show. As a teenager I thought Chad Everett was cool. The theme song was one of the best.

  • Thanks for this. Where did u get it?

  • Thx for posting this. Been looking for this for awhile. Love the 60's organ music.
