  • Nimzowitsch showed the defence plan at 5:00 right after the game, as mentioned by Capablanca himself in his "Chess Fundamental" book. Which source did you have for your comment?

  • thnx

  • You suck at explaining things.

  • this video sucks

  • They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • What is this person saying? These pieces are flying around the board without any real explanation. What we hear time after time is, "This move is instructive." But WHY?

The average player watching these videos wants to see a Ruy Lopez used in a logical sequence with explanations of each move. These "instructive" videos are confusing at best.

How about someone starting with the Ruy Lopez and taking it through the first twenty moves logically. That would be so much appreciated.

  • @bethcharette he actually said why... are u deaf?

  • nobody has the game of Capablanca vs Lasker in london 1914?

  • Comment removed

  • after Rc8...what is white played Nd5 targeting the b7 pawn?

  • nice

  • is there someone stuttering?

  • Actually Lasker had prepared a special line of the open Ruy Lopez against Capablanca, but this line was refuted during the tournament as Lasker told to Tarrasch.

As he knew Capa would play the open Ruy Lopez, he said to Tarrasch he had no other choice but the exchange variation.

That is the whole story behnd this choice of opening.

Source: German Tournament book by Tarrasch.

  • @geekorthodox9

there are almost 2 millions chinse but less then 50 millions caucasians.

And most caucasians speak Russian as 2nd language, and English is far behind.

  • I have been trying to find a commentary on this game for a long time. Thank you. I still cant fully understand the exchange of the dark square bishops. I know it takes away capa´s bishop pair, but I think Lasker had seen something more complex than just that.

  • @itzlogan, because, if capablanca plays Rc7, Lasker will take the bishop, capa has to take back and Lasker: Nd6+ winning

    a rock

  • Emocionante partida.Entonces se jugaba con el corazón,la razón y el espíritu.¡Brillante!.

  • Honestly, i find your english is really good.

  • Dont know.

  • Sorry, but I understand nothing of your english.

  • I think it's because he will lose the exchange either way. "I think" the line would go something like rook moves away and after Nxb7, Rxb7... then Rh8 and black has to move Kf8 because if Rxh8, then Rxh8+ and no matter where the king goes, he loses the rook on b7. Getting back... so after Kf8, then Nc5 attacking the rook and black must move Re7 defending e6. After Ne6+, then the rook must take, Rxe6, because if the king moves, he loses a rook for nothing. I think that is why.

    Hope that helps.

  • Cap should have kept his queen.

  • Nice going Lasker, and thanks for the video canstein

  • nice post and explanation. thanks
