@cull38464 Huh, this is hard to tell. It depends on your own likings. It has slightly better and more dynamic graphics and something wich is called "buddy system": you can (and need to) swich between two characters. No Item boxes you can (and have to) drop and pick up items everywhere. Sometimes usefull, sometimes not (mostly not). And it has at least 3 difficulties, so you don't need to choose between pussy mode(easy) and frustration mode(hard). Thankfully there is a normal mode now.

What you should know is, that this is a prequel of RE1 wich showes how Rebecca Chambers (the girl who teams up with Chris Redfield in RE1) makes her way into the mansion.The story is really sweet and will keep you playing.

If you don't have antypathy to Rebecca (and if you have, this game might change your mind) and you liked the RE remake then this is your game! Hope my reply didn't come to late.

thats the kind of resident evil we need, even though 4 and 5 was good they lacked the origional charm and simplicity of the first games.

the first resi was amazing, it had everything, a good creepy environment, plenty of shock moments and a decent plot, even the terrible voice acting made it likable and funny, i just hope this one will be similar bar the voice acting of course.

I agree with the people that are saying Resident Evil has lost its survival horror feel now.

Its more smash and grab now.

Obviously they are making the games for money now instead of for the fans.

That's the kind of attitude that has been killing franchises. Game series have a right to evolve and move on, and the franchises that don't usually get dissed for being to "similar" to previous installments. Not just RE, MP3 got a lot of unfair criticism for its shift from atmospheric dead world to an action pact living one, which, IMO, is a good thing. Although admittedly, RE5 wasn't as good as it could've been, it wasn't because of the lack of horror.(for me it was the lack of a Wii version)

true but still if they had still kept the original conept of the nightime mansion investigation I think it would have sold more...People love to be scared and thats why the past ones did so well. Sure they could have added new creatures,weapons,features, and etc. to change it up a little so it wouldnt be as repetitive but just strying away from all that like in RES5 turned out to be a failure. It didnt even sell as much as the old ones and it gets bad reviews...
