  • Finger of fudge :):):) hmmm what does that remind me of ??!

  • I always remember that kid's face at the end. It used to crack me up!

  • I could have done without the sound of those bloody recorders. Made my first and second year in secondary school hell trying to get to grips with it.

  • why don't they make ads like this anymore??

  • awwwwww

  • Wish it was still 10p

  • Wish it was still 10p

  • lincolshire poacher?

  • just came across this video....regarding the arguments about whether the boy is called Dax or Tam, I went to school with Dax and we all knew that he was the finger of fudge boy, so I am afraid it's not Tam.

  • @dramadoody It's actually my dad called Paul as a little boy, thanks.

  • A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids false teeth

It's full of Cadbury's badness, and then you won't want yer tea

A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids false teeth

  • @Mortikaye kid at school used to sing a finger of fudge is just enough to shove up your arse. didn't even rhyme yet we all used to lol

  • Ha I used to watch this on tv when I was a kid , Great. One

  • Jlampshire, You got it wrong, he is a friend of mine called Tam, regardless of what fairytale's your friend might be telling. Love the fact you told me to google his name and not actually give it too me. WTF?

  • this video was made late 70's as the lad running off is a mate of mine.

  • 1985 my arse,more like 1975!

  • bring back the cadbury coconut boost!

  • 10p then, 17p now. nice to know that its still as cheap as it was back then!

  • ahh the memories just come flooding back. Fab! unfortunately iv since gone off fudge, probably ate too much as a kid.

  • Only 10p 25 years ago. I love Fudge, one of my favourite cadbury bars!

  • I actually think this ad is from the 70s. Either that, or it's a remake.

  • @davecub Hi Dave this was made late 70's as the lad running off is a buddy of mine.

  • @jlampshire He's actually my dad.

  • If your ever banged up inside.....Never ask anyone if they like a finger of fudge!

  • heheheh. Thats cool. SOOOOO old.

  • And you can get these scrumptious fingers of fudge from bahhumbugs!

  • Just bought one of these bad boys;) 17 F***ing pence now!!!!

  • This was composed by Mike D`abo lead singer of late 60s lineup of Manfred Mann . he also wrote Handbags & Gladrags & Build me Up Buttercup.

  • 1985? Since when? 80 or 81 surely.

  • @geekfest2000 Yes I also thought that it was Peppery but could never understand why it would be. I guess it is because years ago the kids weren't allowed to have regional accents unless they were on Grange Hill ha ha.

  • @jared1971 Haha, true. I guess we didn't think it odd that pepper might be good for you, even when it was covered in chocolate.

  • HEY i just had one of those about 10 mins ago ;D

  • Ever since we saw this video three years ago, my brother and I have constantly cracked up about our misheard lyric here-- it sounds quite clearly in this version like they're saying "it's full of peppery goodness". DELISH'ISH.

  • @HomeStarRunnerTron I've been thinking it's 'peppery' for 25 years. Kinda sad, huh?

  • But totally awesome. Keep the "peppery" naiveté intact!

  • @HomeStarRunnerTron I sure will...it's impossble to forget it now!

  • @geekfest2000 Of what doth thou speak?

  • @dowling1981 The line "It's full of Cadbury goodness" - I always thought it was 'peppery' instead of 'Cadbury' (I was 7 when this ad came out). A few people here thought the same, going by these comments!

  • @geekfest2000 Yes the comments are there for all to glean. Is it true that Ian Beale is a huge fan of Walter Cadbury?

  • @dowling1981 I'm not sure if he is, but he does enjoy watching old "Morph" shorts from the '80s. He knows what the tin foil creature was called, too.

  • @geekfest2000 The tin foil creature did not need a name, for it spoke with its own rhyme, rhythm and action. How should they proceed?

  • @dowling1981 He actually changed his name to Alfonzo Lego. His plans to 'assimilate' his type into society are two-thirds complete, but that's another story.

  • @geekfest2000 We should not fear him, for he comes in peace. Take him to our leader. What about Rolftaigne Harris?

  • @dowling1981 Ah, now he'd be an ideal candidate. Because you see, boards wobble but they don't fall down.

  • @geekfest2000 He will be best remembered for writing 'Stairway to Heaven'. Have you heard the cover by Led Zeppelin?

  • cant belive it was 85, how time flys !!!

  • A fudge bar is now 15p still good

  • @croda2008 up to 17p now...haha

  • LOL Monkey at 0:18

  • hahahaha!

I'd get the jail if I sung that today.

  • The next day the pissed off boy with jug ears got his revenge and the kids were singing this instead:

A conker on string is just enought to give a kid whack

A conker on string is just enough to pay the bastard back

His Mum was giving him choccolate

    The very thing you lack

A conker on string is just enough to give the git a whack

  • peppery!? i would say it's more...fudgy to be honest :|

  • Great Video! Check out our own made Weetabix, Corn Flakes and award winning cadburys advert on our channel - FourColorFilms! Thankyou x

  • The kid who ran off for a fudgy finger was like a school friend of mine when I was a kid. The little twat always used to do this when there were better things on offer leaving me alone. I do hope he is suffering in pain now.

    BTW it is Peppery!!

  • It s Cadbury goodness. I used think it was peppery for years until YOUTUBE.LOL

  • Peppery it is!

  • It is 'Cadbury goodness' but it can sound like peppery goodness when your thinking the word.................very strange!

  • Correct. I think its Cadbury.

  • WHO CARES if theres pepper in it its bloody tasty.!

  • That is definitely PEPPERY goodness, I've wondered for 25 years why it says peppery, but peppery it is.

My wife thinks it says cadburys, but she's mental.

  • hahaha!!!

    That cracked me up!

  • Thats because it dose say cadburys. Your mental thinking its peppery

  • It`s Cadbury goodness for god`s sake. Since when did they start putting pepper in Fudge Bars???Listen to the other ads for it you can hear it clearly.

  • Calm down rit you don't have to cry about it we were only discussing it

  • I don`t like people messing with my fudge bars grrrrr, lol.

  • Behave, or I will take it away from you x

  • Next morning, the other boy got his revenge and used his conker to twat the fudge boy good and hard

  • LMFAO HA HA

  • I bet they banned the bloody advert because of the conkers now at schools too!

  • hmm, i can see what you mean steph. still think it says cadburys goodness though. didn't even think of any other phrases untill i saw this youtube comments page!

  • Im sure its peppery goodness

  • "Peppery goodness"? are you on drugs?

  • i think it actually says...its full of cadbury goodness, not peppery goodness, i may be wrong but thats what i've always thought it said and it is made by cadburys too so......

  • Are you sure? It sounds like peppery it really does

  • oh man!! i've had this tune in my head for about 6 months now! i couldn't remember the second verse for the life of me, now i remember it! lol

  • Comment removed

  • Adorable!

  • The kid playing conkers is like fuck that shit im off for a fudge. And the other kid playing conkers is like what you doing bruv?

  • This Is Soo Funny - I'm Going To Have This Song In My Head For Ages Now x

  • I whistle this sometimes. I'm surprised this advert's only 24 years old - surely a couple of years older than that, no?

  • Funnily enough, I searched for this advert for this exact reason! It's full of what kind of goodness? I thought maybe "every", but it's never "peppery goodness"!

Having read down the thread some more - you kids shoulda done that - it all becomes clear:

It's full of Cadbury's goodness! Whilst retaining modest dimensions. Marvellous.

  • my partner always thought that they sang "it's full of KIPPERY goodness". She's a sweet idiot. It's obviously PEPPERY goodness!

  • so does mine lol

  • I always remember the kid left behind with the conker - he looks like a chimp!

  • lol @ 0:18

  • It definitly sounds like "peppery goodness"

  • "It's full of Cadbury goodness. Not peppery.

  • The kid who runs for the finger of fudge in the advert is a friend of mine Dax, he was born in 72 which means that this was late 70's when 1st made.

  • @jlampshire Not true pal, he's called Tam and he's a friend of mine, think you or Dax have got that one wrong.

  • Comment removed

  • who's singing the song?

  • nice song i think the advert was early 80s the fudge now 15 pence, if was in 70s surely it wont be 5p dearer in 30 yrs lol..

  • It's always sounded like 'peppery' to me, I used to avoid them as a little kid cos I hated pepper!

Same reason why I never bought Dr Pepper for ages, honestly.

  • omg!! thats my dad singing when he was like 12

  • Only 10p!?! Oh how nice it is to remember the old days and cheap teeth rotting sweets :D

  • they're only 15p now! they havent gone up much, went in co-op earlier and they have a 3 for 30p offer so they're still really cheap now

  • I bet that kid got battered the next day at school.

And why do I still know every single word?

  • erm? fudge fingers? niceeee

  • I'm mates with that little boy, he's in his 30s now and called Tam, if anyone follows Coronations street, he was the one that fitted Norris's security alarm last week.

  • I'm mates now with that little boy, he's in his 30s now and called Tam, If anyone watches Coronation street, he was the guy that fitted Norris's security alarm last week.

  • The little boy who runs for the finger of fudge is called dax and he is a friend of mine.

  • Where is he now?

  • ? Don't now last time I saw him was about a year ago in Loughton, Essex..

  • Its full of cadbury goodness and very small and sweet lol

  • What is the end line? so far i've got

It's full of peppery goodness for fairy's small and meat.

  • It's full of cadbury goodness but very small and neat

  • Thanks for that!! That makes more sense.

  • LoL did you really think the words were full of peppery goodness? LoL!

  • I've listened to it again and it still sounds like "peppery goodness".

  • Yummy I like fudge♥

  • cool add. what a treat

  • Does anyone remember the advert with Harry the spiders coming out party? I think that may have been a fudge one too.

  • Where do you put the batteries!?

  • A finger of fudge is just enough to give the girls a treat!

  • Heheh

    Finger of Fudge !!!!!!

That little boy is adorable =]

    xx

  • AAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCEEEEEEE!!!!!

  • it's 15p now i think.....

    thats inflation for you.

  • lol....full of Cadburys 'goodness'... the Food Standards Agency would have a field day if that were aired today!!

  • mm, I fancy a Fudge!

  • really? I fancy a finger myself.

  • 10p! Bargain!

  • They still sell it at me local for 10p, But it taste a bit off.

  • Might wanna check the best before date then mikekamboh

  • I love the emphasis on not snacking 'until it's time to eat' and 'just enough' not to mention economy (only 10p!) in this ad. Kids now are obese little blighters whose faces are stuffed with shitty junk every hour of the day.

  • wonder if they still have it? at todays prices prob quid now!

  • I sing this jingle to my own kids every time I buy them fudge ,they thought I was mad, but now I can show them the original!

  • Fudges are funky and only 2pts on weightwatchers!!

  • only 10p in the 80s and still only 15p, 20+ years later

obviously 20 years of inflation hasn't affected Fudge bars

  • I think if you gave a kid a finger of fudge nowadays you'd probably be looking at alegenthy prison sentence!

  • wow 10p. i loved these adverts, but i remember seein a different one, but its not on youtube.

  • only 10p too :-)

  • I dont know who the kid with the ears is but hes my spitting image when i was a child. One of the best ads ever.

  • All the kids had ears! =D

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudddddddddddddddddddddgggggggge!

  • I love fudge myself. Great advert as well.

  • rb306

    i can sympathise with you

    im a fudge muncher :)

  • I just bought one at 15p in 2007 . not bad compared to other stuff!!!!

  • pitcairnboy, you're quite right this was filmed in 1977, I know coz I was one of the kids that run past the two playing conkers, I look like I'm about the 3rd to go past. I got in as this was filmed at my school and they asked for extras - it has to have been one of the most dull days of my life, we just kept doing the same thing over and over again.

  • I bow down to your superior claim to fame :-) Who was the lad with the ears whose conker game was fudged because of the Fudge? Was he a school chum?

  • I'm sure this ad is at least 10 years older than 1985!

  • cracking advert, but Fudges were f*cking horriboooow

  • when I was younger I got more than just a finger of fudge... now look at me.
