  • how come your manual is so quiet?i have an olympia galaxy typewriter and its so noisy...

  • @MrKrevolution I would count it up to having a good platten. The typewriter is also sitting in its case, on a cart with a rubber mat on it which may have helped to dampen the sound.

  • I surprised that you actually found someone that would buy an old manual typewriter. Normally, unless it's an antiquey one with nickel rings on the keys, you can barely give they away. Even with the antiquey looking ones people buy them mainly as an ornament like they would with an old adding machine so they don't pay much.

  • @OlegKostoglatov I was surprised too, but the design is timeless. I think i actually got more than I paid for the thing. Olympia's were excellent typewriters in their time and this one could still be used on a regular basis.

  • i have the same o.o

  • I really need to get a new ink ribbon. :\

  • No—if you type something wrong, you backspace back to the mistake and then you type back over it, only hit the keys real hard. Either that or you x-out the mistake and retype the word correctly. Anyhow, that's how we used to do it.

  • what if you type something wrong?

  • @iWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW then you use tippex... simple.

  • very calming :3

  • Olympias are excellent typers, I have the splendid 66 :)

  • Ive suddenly love typewriters since I've got my first one which the hammer dosnt work. Lol

  • @36redsoxfan i broke my second typewriter (actually my first but I used one before) O.o.,.
