@gui874111 in campaign the oil patterns are are predetermined you can't change them. If you bowl online then you can select which you oil pattern you want to use if you are the host
The best bowler I've unlocked so far is Tiffany - any strike tips for her? Or if I should use one of the bowlers that are unlocked before Tiffany, which one?
No, but carl's easiest. Most of the characters with good skills will work though it may take a tad of tweeking. Hiro will work without much fiddling at all but for some reason it seems a tad harder to be consistent with using this throw. read all my comments and replys and it will explain more in depth what works and what doesn't. I'm doing EXACTLY the same as this with the same player and clearly, "The darkness" F ball doesn't work for this. Therfore, why use a ball that is not included in the game itself for an instructional video - if the same class (F) ball doesn't work.
All F balls are the same, it's just a different skin for the same thing underneath, all balls of the same class perform exactly the same, they just look different. I actually just had my ps3 die and bought a slim, lost all my saves and had to start over, and right now i'm using the black ball, and it works perfect. I wud guess it's when you r releasing. if u take too many steps it throws everything off i said in an earlier comment i release asap. Try that, it shud work, n good luck
Watch the vid again and pay close to attention to the swing, as soon as i can i back swing, as soon as that is set I forward swing. I always release just before i take my third step. Look how far away i am from the line when i release. I'm kinda impatient so i figured out a way that it works that is the fastest. Just remember every little detail of evrything affects what the ball does. The same swing with same aim and same spin will still get many dif results based on when u release.
I know, if you read the video info plus all my other comments it specifies that this is for beating carl, hiro and their tourneys which is when it gets REALLY tough. The reason its not working for you is two fold, the speed and spin stats for your character, and the oil pattern. My advice is to push r3 to show the oil pattern and watch how the ball moves along the alley, stick with throwing at a set speed and spin and see if you can get it to work by messing around with the aim
also you might see if you can find a video that specifically shows how to beat tiffany. you have bowl differently at each new character because the oil patterns changs and the player stats change, so there is no all encompasing method that works for every player and every lane. the closest thing to that would be to just throw the ball straight with no spin. if you want a good player to use download bruce for 1.99 it makes a big difference! good luck
use carl f ball aim straight down the far right dots red line the spin n set speed around the s after a few tries u shud get the hang of it once you can strike almost every time u should be able to beat him after a few games u pretty much have to get 7 in a row during the match to hit 248 or higher with one spare n the rest strikes you might get lucky n beat him with less but that would b very rare i saw him bowl under 200 like 3 times in the few weeks it took b4 i beat him
Also, Carl n Hiro's oil pattern are the same so if you get it dialed in use the same method for both. I tried what I did in the vid with a D- ball too n it still worked, you just had to set the speed very slightly higher. Oh n also this is for the snavely oil pattern. each oil pattern has to be played differently. This is the pattern used in the final tourney. The pattern on Hiro's lane is called HVB Open, n u play it exactly the same way with F balls, but use the far right dots, n Carl or bruce but again Carl's the easiest. This method is more for helping beat Hiro n the last tourney n also using these oil patterns when playing online.
