This superbowl was way more exciting than sb 46 becuz in this sb people still knew eil as turn of prone and didn't know what to exepct. Sb 46 once eil got the ball everyone knew what was going to happen
The Patriots are not feared anymore. They were lucky to even be there. In fact I'll say that I felt far more confident playing the Patriots than I would against the Ravens or Steelers. They don't have feared players anymore on D like they did with Bruschi, Harrison, Samuel, and Semour. They don't have a feared RB or WR either. And it wasn't a few years ago that they won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years. The 2004 season was their last SB win. It's starting to become a long time ago now.
@mymykatie1 No, I have nothing against the Patriots. I rooted for them to beat the crap out of the Eagles who I hate. I didn't care much for Carolina. And I rooted for them to beat the Rams because I am not much into seeing spreads that are double digits in points, which the Rams had. I was rooting for the then underdog Patriots. But my point remains the same. It's a long time ago now since the last Patriots title. The difference; they had Defense back then, downfield WR's, better running
and lastly....it really shows new yorkers true colors when they get all uptight about some comments from a fan of the losing team, patriots are a respected and feared team just ask the players, we went through a little dip losing the last couple superbowls but we are far from being done with winning and record breaking, you hardly see PATS brag even when we won 3 out of 4 a few years back.... MYMYKATIE1 > hate filled NEW YORK FANS congrats on your win
@joesakic91 what back when there were leather helmets lol jk im talking modern day since all these rules took affect....back then it seemed it was easier to score
Why is this dude talking shit about a super bowl that's been over for over 4 years now?! C'mon man, grow up dude... by all that nonsense laughter you seem like a high school kid who cried like a bitch just cause NE lost the NY in the super bowl, not once but twice. NY government?! Dude we all live under the same form of government in the U.S. dumbass -___-
@AC130abuser i didnt say NY government smart guy, i said gay marriage ass new yorkers fuck each other in the ass while being raped by YOUR government....but NY is a big part of that reason....and i just think its funny that the only thing people try to point out is the fact that PATS lost, thats fine....but we win alot more
lolol im a dude, FAGITS!!! always boils down to queers when it has to do with NEW YORK
everyone of you that thinks im mad over something you see on TV can suck my dick ahahahahahahahaa gay marriage ass new yorkers fuck each other in the ass while being raped by your government lololol
@mymykatie1 Hey conservative neanderthal, If you're going to use ignorant derogatory words, at least know how to spell them. Gay marriage is legal in Massachusetts too ya know, where the Patriots are from. Stay classy dude an take the losses like the REAL man you are...
explain how we went 18-0 the year after being caught cheating...yeah we barely lost SB 42 but i dont see any of your teams making it even to 10 n 0....lame asses lolololololololololololololol and if we do lose a game its by a couple of points and to a proven team (GIANTS, STEELERS, RAVENS) i rest my case
18-1 and those records that season doesn't mean jackshit when the Pats went home emptyhanded on February 3, 2008.
The 2000s Patriots had a chance to go 4-0 in a single decade in Super Bowls along with the 1970s Steelers and 1980s 49ers, but also earn a 19-0 record to go along with it had they won SB XLII. Unfortunately, they didn't. Case closed.
@mike23456789101112 good god man, same ol same ol with you huh? your last statement has no substance.....and by the way you have some issues for being that damn passionate about a game you have no control over....a bunch of men in tights chasing a ball like crack rock gets you pumped huh? and btw i dont knock giants in any way shape or form yet your all pissed over a team you keep beating lolol if it quacks like a duck, its probably a duck hahahaha
Only the 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers and 1980s San Francisco 49ers have better decades than the 2000s Patriots. They both went 4-0 in their Super Bowls.
@joesakic91 well i wasnt alive to enjoy those....i am for these superbowls (wether we win or lose, im just looking for the experience :-) and i became a fan when Green Bay beat us in 96-97 season for the trophy...so thats good for those teams but the NFL was totally different then
@TheKilla1777 LOL. That is hillarious. If the Patriots are thinking "Revenge", then the Giants are thinking "Win again to prove that SB 42 was no fluke". Unlike 2007, the PATS are playing a red-hot, healthy, and hungry team who's QB and WR's have been lighting it up. Against that swiss cheese secondary that the PATS have, a local high school QB could pass on them. It could get ugly for the PATS unless they put some points on the board themselves. A PATS victory is possible but unlikely.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again, Steve Spagnuolo should've won the MVP for this game.
His scheme was incredible! Brady got hit from every direction. They threw him out of sync, they slowed down the most prolific offense in history, and shut down a team that had put up 38 points on them just a month earlier.
One thing people always overlook in this game was Steve Smith's HUGE, CLUTCH catch on 3rd and 11. He got the 1st down, and got out of bounds. GREAT, smart, play, no credit.
Glad Steve Smith left us for The Eagles this year. It allowed Victor Cruz to become a star!
@TheLostRebellion LOL! Eli looks like on purpose. He's a hustler man. He looks like he doesn't have a clue, but he's one of the smartest QB's out there.
He's also one hell of a CLUTCH QB! He plays his best when it matters most! Heart of a CHAMPION!
I don't really care who wins, but the GIANTS dodged more Bullets than Keanu Reeves in the Matrix (my apologies) to win this SB. I guess it's better to be lucky than good.
@MrLongenecker I don't see how. Yeah, I know...Jacobs dodged a 4th down stop, Samuels should have had an INT. (Yeah right..asking him to become Dwight Clark and keep both feet in bounds), Eli dodged a sack, Tyree dodged having it swatted away by Harrison. In Week 17 of the regular season, it took a big comeback by the Pats to win that one after trailing 28-13 at one point. That was enough to be convinced the Giants can play with the Pats. The Pats had 60 mins in the Super Bowl. Giants won!
This is what I don't understand: Patriots down by 3 with 30 seconds left, also with 3 timeouts remaining. Ball at about the 25 yard line needing to move it 40 yards to get into field goal range and tie the game. They call basically 4 hail mary's? WTF. Have a hard time understanding that play call.
@whoatommy I'm a Giants fan, and even I have always said that. Instead of going to Moss who certainly drew double coverage, they should have hit Welker for a quick 17 yds..to the PATS 42 (TIME-OUT with 21 seconds left). Hit Watson or Gaffney for a quick post for 14 Yds..to the Giants 44 (TIME-OUT with 14 seconds left). If the formation is right, a quick screen to Faulk or a slant over the middle to Welker or Watson for 16 yards..to the Giants 28 (TIME-OUT with 5 seconds left). 45 YD FG try.
@whoatommy If you look at that first throw from Brady, Gaffney was behind the defender, it was just a poor throw by Brady. On 2nd down he had no chance. jay Alford pushed right up the middle. Brady had no place to go.
On 3rd down, Moss got behind our defense again, but Brady didn't have enough arm to thrown it 70 yards down field, and 40 yards acrossed it.
Reading the comments are funny, Patriots fans say something along the lines of, Giants got lucky, Eli isn't consistent, or just Pats are better then anyone. Giants fans say, its going to end the same way again. Heres the legit response:
Superbowl 46
Giants: Solid offense, high ability to move the football. Aggressive defense, able to make plays when needed.
Patriots: High powered offense that can be shut down pressuring Brady. Defense mediocre, but better in playoffs.
@solidpat221 exactly, but you have to admit, if it isn't for some miracle helmet catch, the Pats win this one, but got to give credit where it is due.
havent watched this game since 07 until now.... wow that last drive was the luckiest shit ever. 4th n 1 play they nearly didnt convert, a few 3rd and long conversions including the Tyree play, 2 plays VERY close to being INTs. And then a long pass to Moss in the last seconds that was mad close to being caught for either a TD or setup for a game tying FG. This game is still painful but hats off to the Giants, Pats did the same in 01. Shit happens. I hope theres a rematch this year.
@biz20 Yeah I hope there's a rematch too. I'm a Giants fan living in New England in Patriots country. I root for the Patriots against anyone except for the Giants (My #1 team). Both teams have tough matchups for the Championship games. But I think they both will do it. The Pats need a huge lead in the 1st half, like 24-3 in order to set the stage. The Ravens aren't a comeback team from that kind of deficit. The Giants need to put up points too against a tough D. The Giants D can slow SF.
@sweetpeame2, your a stupid fuck if you think the Pats are the only team to use spygate, many teams in the NFL use it!!! The Pats just got caught. So before you run your mouth about teams cheating, at least have some knowledge about what you say before you even say it, fool.
man randy moss face in that year super bowl he was like wow realy he was upset but i wish randy moss would come back to the pats and mybe if you stop runing his mouth mybe he well play for the pats agian sorry randy moss but i am just telling you how it is bro moss man your the best but lose you talk ok man plase come back ask your old couch and tell how you fucked up go to his face and tell him man to man but he this well never go to randy moss
tom brady this year i prey we beat the raven in the playoff because when we go to the super bowl and take on the gaints agian we well just upset the gaints pay back time baby brady on firer
First things first as far as a possible rematch between these 2 teams here in 2012. The Ravens have always given the PATS trouble. Before the Giants won Super Bowl 42, the Ravens came closer than any other team to beating the PATS in 2007. Then of course the Ravens beat them in the Playoffs in 2009, at NE. They'll need to score against the Ravens "D". The Giants on the other hand weren't far off from beating the 49ers in the regular season. Both must do their jobs to make a rematch happen
@iccwsmfthebest Yeah. Either That Or He May Have Been Ejected For What Happened After 4th and 20 play for running midfield and almost fighting the refs.
i love having the most hated, feared, and respected team in the NFL as my favorite team...GOOO PATS!!!! what do we have like 10 losses in the last 10 years?
@mymykatie1 I don't fear the Patriots. I just can't stand for teams known to cheat and lie to be considered anything other than scum. The legendary teams of the past fart in their unworthy direction.
@mymykatie1 18 & NO! Great finish to the season! They are NOT any of what you said, and in a rematch, Brady will be sacked more times than he was in 07's SB !! BRING IT!
@mymykatie1 Your coach Belicheat is a cheat and your QB is an accessory to the crime. Don't tell me for one second Brady was not cognizant of Spygate? Fuck you, cheaters.
Oh yeah Pretty Boy Brady has all the time in the backfield to check his Facebook status, do pilates, readjust his Timex wristwatch, do his reads and still have time to throw the football. Let's just say he is the most overrated system/game manager QB of ALL TIME.
@mymykatie1 Who fears The Patriots? Didn't look like The Giants feared anyone on this night.
And I'm quite sure The Giants won't fear them on Sunday either. We were playing like shit, earlier in the year, with a banged up defense, and still went into Foxboro and got the job done.
We're healthy now, and playing out best football of the year. Don't sleep on The Giants!
damn i still love watching this. But man tell me you weren't scared Moss was going to catch that first hail mary. I mean, he basically burned the secondary the only reason webster catches up to put a finger on that ball is because the ball goes like 60 yards instead of 65. Geez, moss when he was good he was good.
As a die-hard Giants fan, I have to say that the better Super Bowl between this one against the Patriots, or against the Bills in Super Bowl XXV is awefully close. It depends how you look at it. A great drive late in the 4th Quarter to be able to beat a previously undefeated team is priceless and will forever be replayed in our memories. Against the Bills, battle of NY, no turnovers, best offense vs. best defense, 4 lead changes, down to the final seconds, national anthem; slight edge to SB25
@pkbosslac haha yes i was a bit young but i still saw the game and understood it lol. im just saying that we had the talent to win 3 super bowls with that same team. and youll prolly say that we won with the cheating..but get real, anyone with a brain can tell you that they still had to play well and win the games, those seasons werent just a cheated team..if that makes sense. but back to that tuck rule..everyone prolly thought it was over but thats not the way it happend. just gotta go with it
@pkbosslac haha i didnt need a play by play with the ravens and the raiders..i dont even remember that, it was so long ago. and ill say that for any team not just cuz im not a fan of them. when it mattered the most, the pats won in all way shape or form, didnt have to be perfect as you saw the snow game in 2001...,or the chargers game in the playoffs in 2006 div. round and 2007 afc champ. game. raiders are a good football team, patriots just had more talent and i guess you could say better luck.
@pkbosslac yes i agree with that call, it was an obvious fumble but that was 10 years ago, if i was a raiders fan...i would have gotten over it. cuz lets face it, could the raiders beat the steelers that year in the afc championship, or better yet the rams in the super bowl. i cant give you an answer on that, and im sure you cant either
@pkbosslac haha your right about the cheating..but i highly doubt that they had help from the refs. yes bad calls but they always do that. though i really dont care how they win
Belichick and Brady are the biggest arrogant sore losers out there! Im glad they didnt finish perfect in this - the modern NFL - a team with class ought to! ... and FUCK Gillette shavers too - WeLL DONE GIANTS!!! ... Wellington Mara would've been proud!
its so strange how NFL teams change over the years....no wr or Te..that was on the field that day for the Giants is even on that team anymore.....burress on the jets, steve smith on the eagles, tyree is a bum on the streets somewhere...jk..but hes not in the NFL anymore and kevin boss is on the rrrraideeers... suck it PUSSY PATS
I'm a pats fan....to me the Giants never won. The Patriots just didn't end up winning it. There was no Giants parade, it was just the walk of shame off the field by the Pats. Thats how I view things about this game
@Linguine1991 what i mean is if somebody asked me "remember super bowl 42?" i would never say "the 1 the giants won? i dont think anyone in the world would say that, more like "oh yeah, the one the fucking cheating patriots went 18-1?" the game will NEVER be remebered by me as one of the best game winning drives ever (which obviously it was one of the greatest), but how much the defense choked at the end, giving gifts to eli, and then falling short at the end
@danrain12345 Alright, I kind of know what you mean but honestly when that game is brought up among people I know, the drive is obviously brought up and the 18-1 stuff.....but people always give credit to that Giants D, who held the best offense possibly in the history of football to 14 points. That's what people remember from it whenever I talk about it. I guess it's just different perspectives though.
@3ownsu Imma fag LMFAO at least when people click my profile they dont see Avril Lavigne FUCKING PUSSY ASSS BITCH stick to Nickelodeon PUSSSY hahah OWNED
of all the plays on that drive.....i feel like that 3rd and 11 play is the most overlooked play. That was a bigtime read by Eli if he doesn't pick that up its 4th down
I still don't get why the Patriots ran an all-out blitz on the touchdown play. They were getting more than enough pressure by just rushing four (their three down lineman, plus Thomas). They should have just rushed four and clogged the passing lanes with seven defenders - especially since the Giants were so close to the end zone, thus restricting the space they had. Ellis Hobbs had no chance on that touchdown. One on one with no safety help? Please.
@matty2578 No offince but that just makes it sound like your still butt hurt the NYG beat the NE, makes you sound like a NE Fan. as a 49 Fan, I have to state both teams played there BEST, the better more determined teamed won this game however.
dam im mad

If the formation is right, a quick screen to Faulk or a slant over the middle to Welker or Watson for 16 yards..to the Giants 28 (TIME-OUT with 5 seconds left). 45 YD FG try.
TRChamp08 1 month ago
@whoatommy If you look at that first throw from Brady, Gaffney was behind the defender, it was just a poor throw by Brady. On 2nd down he had no chance. jay Alford pushed right up the middle. Brady had no place to go.
On 3rd down, Moss got behind our defense again, but Brady didn't have enough arm to thrown it 70 yards down field, and 40 yards acrossed it.
4th and 20 what can you do?
GialloHorror 4 weeks ago
Reading the comments are funny, Patriots fans say something along the lines of, Giants got lucky, Eli isn't consistent, or just Pats are better then anyone. Giants fans say, its going to end the same way again. Heres the legit response:
Superbowl 46
Giants: Solid offense, high ability to move the football. Aggressive defense, able to make plays when needed.
Patriots: High powered offense that can be shut down pressuring Brady. Defense mediocre, but better in playoffs.
We'll see what happens.
solidpat221 1 month ago

I hope theres a rematch this year.
biz20 1 month ago
@biz20 Yeah I hope there's a rematch too. I'm a Giants fan living in New England in Patriots country. I root for the Patriots against anyone except for the Giants (My #1 team). Both teams have tough matchups for the Championship games. But I think they both will do it. The Pats need a huge lead in the 1st half, like 24-3 in order to set the stage. The Ravens aren't a comeback team from that kind of deficit. The Giants need to put up points too against a tough D. The Giants D can slow SF.
TRChamp08 1 month ago
@sweetpeame2, your a stupid fuck if you think the Pats are the only team to use spygate, many teams in the NFL use it!!! The Pats just got caught. So before you run your mouth about teams cheating, at least have some knowledge about what you say before you even say it, fool.

tom brady this year i prey we beat the raven in the playoff because when we go to the super bowl and take on the gaints agian we well just upset the gaints pay back time baby brady on firer
goodsinger952 1 month ago
First things first as far as a possible rematch between these 2 teams here in 2012. The Ravens have always given the PATS trouble. Before the Giants won Super Bowl 42, the Ravens came closer than any other team to beating the PATS in 2007. Then of course the Ravens beat them in the Playoffs in 2009, at NE. They'll need to score against the Ravens "D". The Giants on the other hand weren't far off from beating the 49ers in the regular season. Both must do their jobs to make a rematch happen

kewlbreez77 1 month ago
@mymykatie1 Your coach Belicheat is a cheat and your QB is an accessory to the crime. Don't tell me for one second Brady was not cognizant of Spygate? Fuck you, cheaters.
Oh yeah Pretty Boy Brady has all the time in the backfield to check his Facebook status, do pilates, readjust his Timex wristwatch, do his reads and still have time to throw the football. Let's just say he is the most overrated system/game manager QB of ALL TIME.
EE333333333 1 month ago
@mymykatie1 Who fears The Patriots? Didn't look like The Giants feared anyone on this night.
And I'm quite sure The Giants won't fear them on Sunday either. We were playing like shit, earlier in the year, with a banged up defense, and still went into Foxboro and got the job done.
We're healthy now, and playing out best football of the year. Don't sleep on The Giants!

@pkbosslac haha yea i agree. and in 2010 when they were "suppose" to win it all they get out in the divisional round. and this year isnt any better
NewEnglandDynasty12 3 months ago
@pkbosslac haha yes i was a bit young but i still saw the game and understood it lol. im just saying that we had the talent to win 3 super bowls with that same team. and youll prolly say that we won with the cheating..but get real, anyone with a brain can tell you that they still had to play well and win the games, those seasons werent just a cheated team..if that makes sense. but back to that tuck rule..everyone prolly thought it was over but thats not the way it happend. just gotta go with it
NewEnglandDynasty12 3 months ago
@pkbosslac haha i didnt need a play by play with the ravens and the raiders..i dont even remember that, it was so long ago. and ill say that for any team not just cuz im not a fan of them. when it mattered the most, the pats won in all way shape or form, didnt have to be perfect as you saw the snow game in 2001...,or the chargers game in the playoffs in 2006 div. round and 2007 afc champ. game. raiders are a good football team, patriots just had more talent and i guess you could say better luck.
NewEnglandDynasty12 3 months ago
@pkbosslac yes i agree with that call, it was an obvious fumble but that was 10 years ago, if i was a raiders fan...i would have gotten over it. cuz lets face it, could the raiders beat the steelers that year in the afc championship, or better yet the rams in the super bowl. i cant give you an answer on that, and im sure you cant either
NewEnglandDynasty12 3 months ago
@pkbosslac haha your right about the cheating..but i highly doubt that they had help from the refs. yes bad calls but they always do that. though i really dont care how they win
NewEnglandDynasty12 3 months ago

jaymac508 4 months ago
I'm a pats fan....to me the Giants never won. The Patriots just didn't end up winning it. There was no Giants parade, it was just the walk of shame off the field by the Pats. Thats how I view things about this game
danrain12345 4 months ago
@danrain12345 Then you would be 100% wrong and are in denial if you're a Pats fan or just stupid otherwise.
Linguine1991 4 months ago
@Linguine1991 what i mean is if somebody asked me "remember super bowl 42?" i would never say "the 1 the giants won? i dont think anyone in the world would say that, more like "oh yeah, the one the fucking cheating patriots went 18-1?" the game will NEVER be remebered by me as one of the best game winning drives ever (which obviously it was one of the greatest), but how much the defense choked at the end, giving gifts to eli, and then falling short at the end
danrain12345 4 months ago
@danrain12345 Alright, I kind of know what you mean but honestly when that game is brought up among people I know, the drive is obviously brought up and the 18-1 stuff.....but people always give credit to that Giants D, who held the best offense possibly in the history of football to 14 points. That's what people remember from it whenever I talk about it. I guess it's just different perspectives though.

neilrtucker11 5 months ago
I still don't get why the Patriots ran an all-out blitz on the touchdown play. They were getting more than enough pressure by just rushing four (their three down lineman, plus Thomas). They should have just rushed four and clogged the passing lanes with seven defenders - especially since the Giants were so close to the end zone, thus restricting the space they had. Ellis Hobbs had no chance on that touchdown. One on one with no safety help? Please.
