  • Thanks, Bill, and thanks for sharing all those great songs with us.

  • Thanks for sharing your great talent.

  • Thanks for the compliment, ghostgal.

  • It's a good one. One of my favorite Clancy Brothers songs. Are you ever going to do the other jug of punch?

  • I give up. What's the other jug of punch?

  • I was hoping you would know. On a Dubliners video, Luke Kelly says "Jug of Punch" and everyone cheers and he says, "It's not that Jug of Punch; something else entirely." Which led me to believe there was another jug of punch.

  • Let me know if you find out! There is an atheists' version that has the lines:

What more diversion can a man desire

Than to roast a priest on an open fire?

  • The jug of punch I think he is reffering to is the 23rd of june!

@twas on the 23rd of June as I sit weaving all on my loom, I heard a thrush singing in yon bush and the song he sang was a jug of punch reldy for the di, redly for the diddly itle dootle itle" dont trust the spelling lol! but thats the version search 23rd of june into youtube and the Clancys dad a few versions of it!!

  • I just love this one!

Me and my Irish friends used to sing it when I had a wonderful time in Ireland, Co. Clare, Doolin, at the campsite behind McGann's pub ;)

Thanks very much for the good memories!

  • Thanks, Isa. I also have great memories of Ireland.

  • Takes me back this one. My auntie used to sing me this one with her guitar when I was a littl'un.

  • You were lucky to have a singing auntie!

  • That's perfect, Raymond

  • Thanks, Marco.

  • Hello

    Raymond...

This is one that we sing @ Sweet Rosie O'Grady's Tavern in The Big Apple on the Feast of St. Patrick. Here, you have grabbed the very essence and all of the charm, fun and jubilation found within this old chestnut. Many thanks for this splendid and sterling showcase.

    Peace,

    Stewball

  • You are welcome, Max. This has always been a favourite of mine since I first heard it sung by the Clancy Brothers.
