I think a better solution would be to close the other programs that are using CPU.

this doesnt work for some computers like mine. it will lag the whole computer extremely and freezes and you have to restart the pc.

No.. It is says the system could be unstable, so unless you jack everything up on high, you're safe.

I've never had a problem. I just wouldn't increase the priority of more than 1 program, but you should be okay.

1.opened task manager

2.clicked on process, my game is not there. i run the task, opens up the game. wtf?

... Your game should be open in the applications tab,right click the one on the applications and click go to process. There you go.

Because your game probably isn't even open,am I right? If I am keep reading,if im not then sorry,can't help. Open the game.(Duh?) Press Ctrl+Esc to bring you back to the desktop NOW open task manager. It should be in the applications now. Now,follow the previous instructions I gave you. Tell me how it goes.

Well,you could try downloading Auslogic's Boostspeed,or watch Household Hacker's video on how to reduce lag and ping.

you need your game up and running or at the main menu for example

you need to open up the game first then go to processes usually its hl.exe -right click it and set it to high or real time

Okay,I might have a solution. Go into MY Computer,press Ctrl+F and type Windows Task Manager. If it finds any,right click,and go to Compatibility Mode,and set it to Windows XP,if that doesn't work,sorry :(
