Lovely peice, but in no way a criticism, couldent make out the lyrics in the second part of the song, Im nearly 50 now, broken marriage and all that, burnt all the bridges, but, still have a good ear, left one I think, Take care and b in touch, Terry
I agree that its a beautiful song. Especially when you know the history behind it. It means so much more....the man that wrote it was amazing and it is beautiful that he shared his own transformation in these words.
I have never liked this song but The Priests do a very good job with it. I think it 's one of those songs that has just been done too many times by too many people. .Of course, The Priests could sing the NYC phone directory and probably make it sound good!!
This is absolutly amazing! I have been wanting The Priests to sing this for ages ever since I heard Father Martin singing it in their documentary. I cannot wait for their second album! I will be buying it.
Does the album provide the printed lyrics of the songs??? I need to read it and sing a long. My English is far from perfect. Anyone knows??? I will check it out at HMV stores in Toronto here.
it only provides lyrics for like two of the songs, because most of the songs are not in english, so they provide translations for a song in latin and another one in gaelic, but no lyrics.
of course i assume you're referring to their first album, yes?
You hate Amazing Grace? Wow. I think it's one of the most beautiful hymns ever written. But, of course, that's why we are all have different opinons. : )
I agree partly with kittieconvoy. I have loved the tune and the lyrics, but until I heard this rendition, every vocal version of this song that I have heard has only irritated me, being "over-done". That's why I have only enjoyed the instrumental versions (especially with Highland Pipes). The Priests have the gift and will to let the song speak for itself, that's what makes their rendition stand apart from the rest.
sick song blud. stop. now wiggle with it. . . . :o) what a FUCKING tune.

The gentle voices of the priests reveal the tenderness of the song, while the lush orchestration reveals it's power.

The songs listed on the cover are all well known ones in English. A search on Google will probably turn up the lyrics...

Such a beautiful song, well performed. I usually like hard dance, but to hear this tune is amazing. It has such a wonderful meaning too.
