All praises to Shankar Jaikishan. Nobody ever mentions that they were the assistants to Music Directors Husnlal & Bhagatram. Nobody knows that SJ's very first film Barsaat, it was Music Director Ghulam Mohammad who helped them compose. And nobody would ever mention that Raj Kapoor who himself was a classical singer and a composer, had helped SJ with a lot of their music.

This reminds me of "Ay dost mere main ne duniya dekhi hai" from Sacchai, where Shankar and Jaikishen comcbine superbly the western rock guitars with indian classical instrumentation. The contrast is also provided with the acting of Shammi Kapoor (west) and sanjeev kumar (east) and in the singing by Rafi (west) and Manna Dey (east)!!

My dear friend Faqeerahmed.... These are the music directors, who concieve the idea of a tune, create the music, the interludes and educate the singer how to present it. So it is not Rafee sahab who made all the music directors famous. In fact it is the other way round.

On shammi Kapoor sj's first choice was Rafi sahab.

however Sj was part of the Raj kapoor team and worked most with Mukesh,Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri and Manna dey ofcourse.Rafi sahab was best under Naushad Ali's wings

Please list the hits for Rajender Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Dharmendra, Dev Anand....SJ - Rafi Saab was first choice - Look at their stage shows on youTube who do they have singing the most for them!! - What lies are you refering to. Facts speak louder than words. Oh by the way also Biswajeet, Uttam in Chotsi Mulaqat. Outside of RJ films they used Mukesh very rarley. Rafi Saab was best with OP Nayyaer, SJ, Madan Mohan, LP, Kalyanji Anandji, Ravi - the List is endless. What Lies???

I named a few songs with those actors because to list al songs, i'll have to be busy till next year lol!Mukesh was used by evry music director you can name!

and not rarely very often lol, but mukesh did not sang many songs in a year he sang like 400 in a year and 300 were hit songs rafi sang like 600 and 250songs were hit, other songs were forgotten and are lost till today the rafi collection misses 40% of rafi songs his collection is so big and only the few hit songs are rememberd,

@suriblingblinga I contest that claim about Rafi - Naushad duo . Rafi-SJ was equally good . Yeh mera prem patra , ajab hai dastan teri ( on KK ), so many songs list is almost endless.
