I'm an Arab American who's traveled to West Bank and Israel on several occassions, I disagree. It is not the Israelis fault that Arabs have blown up buses, cafes and markets killing thousands of Jews. This same warped crowd blames the US for 9/11, the Cole bombing or the bombing of US Embassies. The Palestinians have been given all sorts of options. They have been given billions of US dollars to set up a decent government but no. They have corrupt leaders...still want Israel destroyed.
This man is aptly named -- Braver-man. A brave man, indeed. There will never be peace in the Middle East and there will always be friction with the Muslim world unless we remedy the inequitable situation in Palestine/Israel.
Mark who? He blames the Christians for the Holocaust, and now he blames the Jews for problems with the Palestinians. Did it ever occur to him that Christians had nothing to do with the Holocaust, and that the Muslims are the problem in the Middle East? Muslims are only at the center of almost every single conflict in the world today, and it's not a coincidence. Over a third of Palestinians support the murder of the Israeli family in Northern Samaria -- which tells you something.
God bless you Mark Braverman for being the brave and honourable face of the jewish religion and people willing to condemn Israel's crimes and abuses against Palestinians ; although regretfully still a minority these Jews and/or Israelis are increasingly more outspoken and growing in numbers .
A well presentedl comment on Israel's deplorable behaviour towards the Palestinians, put forth in a reasoned manner by a Jew with personal experience of the conflict and the underlying issues.
Kees889 Mark Braverman stated that his grandfather was born in historic Palestine, a region controlled by the Ottoman empire where Christian, Jewish and Muslim Palestinians lived together in a multicultural society. At the turn of the century, there were just a few thousand religious Jews there to study the Torah. The Christian community was divided between Catholic, Orthodox, and a few protestant denominations. The Muslims were Sunni.
How come his grandfather was born in Israel? Mark is at least 60 years old , then his grandfather was born in the 19 century , at that time it wasnt called Israel ! And all Jews who used to live in Palestine in the 19 century were Palestinian Jews , so Mark is Palestinian ?
Mark Braverman's insights shared in Fatal Embrace shine a light on why we meet hesitation and challenges as we share with Christian Congregations, our Michigan Peace Team experiences in the West Bank and Gaza. In our presentations we try to raise awareness regarding the injustice and oppression that the Israeli occupation brings to the West Bank and Gaza. In response we often hear...."The situation is terrible but we can't criticize Israel for these injustices!"
god bless you ... hard facts its ok to talk... time will tell.... it will change when more Israelis will understand that Palestinians have rights too.
The gentleman has a perfect right to express his opinions. That does not of necessity make him right. I look forward to the day when Libyans, Egyptians, Syrians, Sauds and other Arabs have the right to express criticism of their governments. A long wait going by past experience.
I respect people like him. I wish the evil people who are running Israel now stop the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and start to live like humans and treat others like they want to be treated. You are a Brave MAN

International Law ! whilst we have such multi / bi-lateral partisan interests at play in the world the UN is useless. Thus Israel, the US and everybody else chooses there own level of respect for international law and more broader basic human rights ! It is only at the utter end of the utmost bloodshed that people choose peace, like Ireland, though it still continues. People need be given a chance to assume real power also, unfortunately. Then the leaders will sell out to peace .. lol.
God bless Mark Braverman ,for reflecting the best traditions of humanity and justice of Jews and the jewish religion , by his forceful condemnation of Israeli policies and relentless crimes against the Palestinian people for the last 60 years. This gross injustice will only end when Israel's supporters and lackeys will wake up to their responsibilities and say to Israel enough is enough!
Sir, youy say word for word what I think. Thank you so much for your courage. I was born in 1976. I am a christian. My grand parents were kids during WWII. I have nothing to be ashamed of concenring the holocauste about my family nor to be proud of. I don't feel responsible for the horror of the past but I do feel responsible for what is going on right now in the world. It is not about religion, it is about us and whether we have reached or not this state of evolution we claim to have reached.
Mr. Bareverman, you are a BRAVE man! It certainly takes a lot of courage to do what you do, I only hope that people like, who nurture genuine love for humanity can multilpy by the hour. You are a true Patriot, and those who accuse you of ani-semitism, should question their values!! Thank you.
@oranlavy yes, Palestinians have tried to make peace for decades. The efforts have ALWAYS been destroyed by various israeli strategies. Israel is NOT interested in peace, because it sees it as a first step to its real destruction. Palestinians are in the vast majority very much interested in peace because it can only improve their miserable lives. You obviously haven't read a single book of accounts of the peace talks by Israelis and Palestinians involved in the peace process. READ.
@oranlavy Your "knowledge" of the situation over there is obviously limited by Israeli and American propaganda. For example, you don't have the slightest of ideas that HAMAS was created by Israelis and initially funded by them in the very intent to diminish Yasser Arafat's strenght. And Arafat was the one person who could have made peace, which was not an option for Israel. Funding Hamas and launching it into the world was easy and a very old strategy: divide to conquer.
also, Hamas is there now simply because the Palestinians are being raped on a daily basis of everything they own: their land, their families, their lives, their own bodies. My cousin still lives there. Regular visits from Israeli soldiers are common. At one point the people got fedup of not reaching a solution with the more pacifist Fatah and tried another political party. Does Israel always elect the same political party? Does ANY country? Your argument is ridiculous.
We really need you to speak in Florida, because my experience with the Christians here is they do NOT want to hear about it! I have been hitting my head on a WALL since my first of 7 trips to I-P, trying to get good Christians to open up and hear the truth because "opposition is true friendship"-William Blake, "Marriage of Heaven and Hell"
@eileenfleming I'd like to understand why we are aiming at the Christians now? What the heck are you doing about the Jews who massively support Israel? How about talking to them and getting them out of their destruction and annihilation state of mind?
@mellkiades I have been 'aiming' at those very Christians! The FIRST corruption of Christianity began with Augustine's "Just War Theory" and until church got in bed with state EVERY Christian understood to follow/LOVE JC meant you must be NONVIOLENT and "Our problems stem from our acceptance of this filthy, rotten system"-Dorothy Day
Plz see my videos "There's nothing Christian about Zionism" and "God's Side and the 9th of Av" and read Mark's book and give it to every Christian you know, thnx
For once someone in the Jewish community is waking up on this issue! I am so proud of him.

@mellkiades well,
even the Palestinian themselves didn't agree about
their leader nor their strategy for peace.
btw, HAMAS who elected and rule in Gaza,
said: "their is no time for peace initiatives proposals
are all a waste of time".
obviously, you didn't read HAMAS charter,
for that, israel has no partner for peace.

@mellkiades your statements are all rubbish,
israel left Gaza completely, and gaza have also
common border with Egypt , so don't fool us with the
blockade.

murder FATAH, its own people!
