Okay , I know this was a while ago but I'm Hmong and I listen to The Dave Ryan Show. I feel like the Hmong community really over reacted, the show makes fun of almost all cultures and religions constantly and they were obviously joking. I understand that racisim is an issue in society but I still believe that this was an over reaction.

When KDWB did that war of the roses bit with a Hmong couple a while back, the girl was like "I live with his mom and dad and all 12 of is brothers and sisters, and grandma under one roof"....right away, I knew she was Hmong and I laughed my ass off because she was so dumb.

I find it quite hilarious that the hmong people think they are so special. The blacks dealt with an incredible amount of prejudice and yet they didn't even complain as much as the hmong right away. The Japanese dealt with the internment camps and what did they do? They continued to fight for the country they wanted to be apart of and achieved great things. Now they have the respect of the Americans. Every single immigrant group dealt with this. The Germans, Dutch, Norwegians, Irish all had too.

This seems an authentic, heartfelt, civil response from the audience most affected... by what happens far too regularly over what are supposed to be publicly-owned airwaves (just licensed to private corporations). As a long time veteran of multi-cultural comedy events I can tell you: Unless you are that minority, you do not make fun of a minority. When you offend, it's not funny; when it's funny, you don't offend.

People who didn't listen to them prior got upset. They apologized, and removed the content. KDWB, STEVE , and the rest of the morning show apologized.
I was mad at first, and I still think it's not funny. How do you find displaying people's hardships and mistakes funny? Sure, everyone knows about these issues, it's true. Im on both sides. Im siding with kdwb and the hmongs side because, like they said, its a comedy radio station. I know hmong people in Mn aren't really open minded because they are always serious about being hmong. 1 little thing about hmong people, and they all trip. They have no sense of humor. I feel like the Hmong community really over reacted, the show makes fun of almost all cultures and religions constantly and they were obviously joking. I understand that racisim is an issue in society but I still believe that this was an over reaction.

And for those that keep saying it's a free country and that we have to tolerate it, they are messed up in their way of thinking. I find it quite hilarious that the hmong people think they are so special. The blacks dealt with an incredible amount of prejudice and yet they didn't even complain as much as the hmong right away. The Japanese dealt with the internment camps and what did they do? They continued to fight for the country they wanted to be apart of and achieved great things. Now they have the respect of the Americans. Every single immigrant group dealt with this. The Germans, Dutch, Norwegians, Irish all had too.

Ppl who stands up r the one who has some pride & do like their ppl after all. I notice from personal discussion that the only ppl who don't care about tis is either Non-Hmong or Hmong that don't like Hmong. Yes I c some White ppl here which is very nice & supportive, but to hear that some HMONG ppl say "So I only like BLACK & WHITE so it's not my problem" is a turn off! It's ok that u only like Black & White, but ur stil Hmong no matter wat unless u undergo Serious surgery to change physically.

gosh people.... people dont understand.... hell yeah everyone makes fun of people.... but the difference is they went out and broadcasted their way of making fun of people... i talk and i stereotype... but i do it with my friends where others cant hear!! thats the difference... if you let someone step all over you... then they will do it over and over and over again!!!

People of all races are racist. Hmong are racist too. Maybe we should start by teaching everyone including ourselves that racism and prejudice is bad for the hearts. I know for a fact that Hmong people are racist towards Blacks and Hispanics. And Hmong people are very prejudiced towards Vietnamese. Please tell ourselves that hating others without knowing them is WRONG.

wow I don't see anything that is racist in song. If you are really hmong you should know that those line KDWB chose to say in the song was actually facts and not opinions. Even though they exaggerated the numbers it is still true in many many hmong families. So I don't see anything racist about it. Stop making a point you can't win hmong people. For me I will still be listening to KDWB because their the best station in MN. Thumb this up

People who didn't listen to them prior got upset. They apologized, and removed the content. KDWB, STEVE , and the rest of the morning show apologized.

I was mad at first, and I still think it's not funny. How do you find displaying people's hardships and mistakes funny? Sure, everyone knows about these issues, it's true. But saying these things are like disrepecting one whole ethnic group. It's just straight up ignorant. Now that they apologized, I don't see what else you guys want from them.

In the song, SteveO didnt label us as "gooks" or 'miltsu" or "chinks"! The things that he said are known facts and are valid! Do we not have girls who are pregnant at 16? Hell, back in Laos and Thailand, they have kids at 13! Do we not sleep on the floor when the house is packed? Do we not age quite well? If you've answered "YES" to all these questions then you know its all valid. Dave Ryan wasnt laughing at the song either and he even felt awkward the whole time, FYI! :)

Im on both sides. Im siding with kdwb and the hmongs side because, like they said, its a comedy radio station. I know hmong people in Mn aren't really open minded because they are always serious about being hmong. 1 little thing about hmong people, and they all trip. They have no sense of humor. But on the other hand, it does get kinda personal to the hmong people since its aimed at the hmong people. Hmong Mn's need to stop trippen and be open minded.

They came out on the air and said an apology, I think everyone likes to come out and say "i'm offended!" Yeah, it wasn't right, they apologized, and now it's time to calm down. They obviously didn't mean it, i mean honestly how many times have you heard an irish drunk joke? they're everywhere, you've said them too, KDWB loves their listeners because they wouldn't be anywhere without them, everyone just calm down.
