  • Worthless!!

  • It's hard to see anything is this video- not really teaching anything...

  • this video has no use or purpose to anyone...fucking useless

  • video of welding without tutorial is fucking useless !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey dude! it is possible to weld a 4mm thick composite aluminum sheet? and both side of the composite sheet has the same texture quality? i would really appreciate if u could answer this question thanks!

  • Why is it that every welding video is plagued with "experts" that tell the man making the video what he's doing wrong???

PUT UP YOUR OWN VIDEO, SHOW US THE GIFT THAT THE GODS HAVE BESTOWED UPON YOU.........OR SHUT THE F**K UP!!!!

  • viascott- Biggest problem with that is not penetrating the base material (on a fillet) . It's too easy to flood the joint with filler and get no pen. I have students run a t-joint, 1 side only with their choice of filler rod technique (dip or lay wire). 99% of the time, the guys choose lay wire and those 99% always have lack of root pen. Simply chuck up the part in a vice and hammer the vertical member toward the welded side. Part mite not break but lack of root pen is evident.

  • @weldhawk1 I was welding "DOWN HILL" on the side of a flange. It was a round flange for shipboard ventilation. The shop I was in at the time, that's all we did was cut, build and weld miles of aluminum vent. When we welded fillets, outside corners or butts, one of the guys I worked with called it "caulking". We didn't dip the filler metal, we continually feed. It looked like a caulked bead of weld.(Production) And NO, it did not and would not CRACK.

  • I wish people welding would use a second hemet to shoot through.

Video an astroid from 3 feet away.

  • Pretty cool, but damn man, wear a respirator.

Aluminum is one of the most toxic metals you can get in your body.

  • HAHA i just finished making 8 of the same things for our school, im 16 and im planning on being a welder i love it soo much!!

  • Sounds like a very old Miller to me.

  • Must be an old machine I can tell by the way it sounds every time you stop and start.

  • I'm pretty sure that's the sound of the pedal he's pressing with his foot bro.

  • @exspertwelder old mig machines sound like that to. the one i welded my muffler in with sounded the same

  • nerds

  • hey guy...love your vids and website....very informative i have been looking for a site like that

  • can you weld aluminum to chromoly

i want to weld my seatpost to my bmx frame

and i was wondering if you could

  • that guy holds a tig torch like a maniac. by the way, mig on aluminum will never look as sharp and cleen as tig.

  • @mrkendogg You haven't seen my welds with a spoolmate yet man. Very smooth to the touch and a lot faster completed than tig too. By the way it's spelled "clean" not cleen.

  • @mrkendogg sorry your wrong, i've done it on a 3mm aluminium sump using pulse on pulse mode.

  • @mrkendogg you hold the torch anyway you need to in production it's quicker to change your hand position than move the part. you set it up so you hold the torch like a pen [the correct way] for as long as you can. i used to have to weld lighting frames not so easy to move while it's not fully welded but you gotta still weld so change your hand position. though you very right about mig welding aluminum.

  • That's tig

  • Smoke another one guy

  • Are you retarted?

  • It defeats the purpose of calling someone retarded when you can't spell it.

  • Ahhh ahahaha... I think thats the funniest youtube comment I've seen

  • So which is better to be used in aluminium welding? Mig or Tig?

  • better depends on the job...but i find aluminum mig welding a hundred times easier and way faster

  • mig welding on aluminum is alright if you're not goin for perfection. But if you're experienced you can get pretty damn close with mig. Also mig is a good choice for a beginner on both aluminum and steel

  • Ok thanks for the information.

  • Check out Fronius GMAW-CMT thats pretty perfect for mig

  • no that is tig welding

  • Your a fucking idiot of course its tig.

  • HAhahahahahaha. good call

  • OK? Now let's see what the bead looks like welder man!!

  • i gotta learn to do this.. weld an alliminum fillet... does that count as exotic matrial ?

  • aluminum needs a.c for ionic barbardment..the positive side of the ac cycle to remove the oxide layer from the al.

  • but you also need a high frequency unit

  • ha smoke and zap = a fudged tungsten :-)

  • the protection is too important i recomend you protect better

  • not much damage can come from using tig unlike stick welding, although ppe is importint

  • You touch your tungsten with the rod at 0:22...right :-)

  • Yep... you definitely hear him touch the rod to the tungsten...lol BAD

  • @tigsvetsaren you never touch ?

  • thats a hell of a tack dude. get the puddle and just shove the rod in. to each his own i guess

  • Can someone please anserw my quesion on PM :

i want to buy a TIG welder but its not AC/DC and i was thinkig what will happen when i try to weld alluminium?

Why normal TIG welder cannot be used?

    Thanks for reply

  • Aliminium tig requires alternating current A/C POWER SCOURCE ,a dc direct current cannot be used, there are sets now that work on ac but boot a dc current inn for penertration but there very exspencive, you could use a normal mig set with argon or helium if your on thicker plate..

  • ali can be welded on dc but we are talking ultra clean conditions. ac has a cleaning effect on ali. when you start welding you will understand how clean it needs to be!

  • keep up the good work, man the one guy commenting before me was a angry little dick . it aint about you pecker. you dont have to watch it. he was one of those guys who talks smack on youtube but wouldnt say a word standing in your shop in person.

  • Easy man! It's not instructional or it would have said it in the description. There are other videos that show you how to do it on youtube, but unless you practice, it wont do you much good. I know, I am a welder trying to get the hang of aluminum welding.

  • Go home and play your GH instead...

  • show the bead man,

    rather than your mug lol

  • LOL Look at his face when he lifts up his screen!!!!!

  • Dear ca.,

Well obviously you have never appreciated flying an airplane; nor ever consuming anything, freighted to you, in an airplane.

    .

    Get out more!

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • Alpstarr, you can weld Alluminium with a zirconiated tungsten electrode and set your welder to AC, or AC/HF. Use a thoriated tungsten electrode and DC- to weld mild, carbon, stainless steels, and also copper. and yes its a lot harder to TIG weld takes years to perfect it.

  • Are you saying that you can arc weld aluminum ?

I would like to know more about that.

  • The do make aluminum stick(SMAW) rods.

  • i havent learned tig welding yet im only a freshmen but im the best in my class at mig and arc. is tig welding alot harder? can u only weld aluminum with tig or do you just change the wire like in mig?

  • most people find tig welding is harder than MIG or ARC. you can weld other materials with tig, however you have to change conditions, for instance with steel you have to grind the electrole to a point (to create a smaller arc) and run the power of DC and not AC which you use for ali

  • i havent learned tig welding yet im only a freshmen but im the best in my class at mig and arc. is tig welding alot harder? can u only weld aluminum with tig or do you just change the wire like in mig?

  • How much is a Tig Welder Machine like this on the Video?

  • Looks like the filler material is being added far too slow. Might look pretty when you take your time but the aluminum is made weak and brittle from the heat input. You have to add the filler fast and move fast to keep things cool. Just try putting it to the bend test after. crack!

  • Why did you continue welding after you contaminated your tungsten, we saw the smoke...ALL OF YOU PEOPLE NEED TO SHOW US THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!!

  • A contaminated weld, especially when you're only stitch welding, on a something like that flange wont make any difference to the finished product. As far as functionality is concerned, and thats what's important with ventilation.

  • GIVE THIS MAN A CIGAR!!!!!!!!

  • @sheetmetalworker Under x-ray it will. Been there, rejected that.

  • @weldhawk1 Forgive me, I mean you no disrespect. But your concerns regarding the type of welding I was doing are pointless. This was get it done and get it done "now" work. Visually, dimensionally our work was first class.(didn't pay much) O'yeah. I was goophing off when this was taken. It was the end of the shift. The guy that took the video was coming in on 2nd shift and was just showing off his new camera. So I said take one of me for prosperity. Thank for being a welding instructor.

  • High frequency is 100 volts stepped up to 3600 volts, ocillating at 60,000 cycles per second which is thrown on to the A.C. sine wave.

  • watch out for your balls dude, sitting down to weld ehh,new one on me man, heheheh

  • HAhahaha thats what most tig welders do bro on little fidgity shits lol, thats why i couldnt be fucked with doing a TIG job about 18months back, cos you need an auto dark helmet and you have to be prepared to sit down and weld stainless pipes all day haha, fuck that.

  • Actually a welder is a machine a Weldor would be the person operating the welder get it right..

  • Right on! I might add that the guy is sitting because he might make 100's of these things a day. It isn't hard to get fatigued when welding, tired=sloppy. Good job-but welder should be changed to weldor!

  • thats the correct terminology these days, weldor was like just put in the dictionary not to long ago, right?

  • Yeah, will I was welding down hill.

  • Yeah, will I was welding down hill.

  • Maybe post one that isn't showing an effup.

  • Yeah, will I was welding down hill.

  • well i got a mig been migging for years bought a spool gun made it work with my century 250 mig... tried to tig weld but i must be missing something... i think it might be a pedal and frequency box... really dont know about tig but i have some projects that need tigging

  • Unless you want to weld aluminum you don't need any special equipment for rudimentary tig (As in scratch start + unvariable amperage). The century 250 doesn't seem to suppord variable voltage wich is the characteristic needed for both tig and stick.

  • I enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting.

"If you know what a dremel tool is, you are probably one of my subscribers" - The Fabricator

  • id pick a MIG if you are new.

  • Alum welding is an excelent skill to have. Not many people cannot master it. Anyone know if there is any special shades for a camcorder....? Like film exactly what is happening in the weld pool?

  • I would of used a turn table. what type of machine are you using?

  • Are you ambidexterous or just another southpaw?

    Nice form dude-

Don't you sweat alot in that heavy garb?

If my boss caught me sitting (bench welding)

    he's cite me for loafing.

  • Dear Lo.,

Cite your boss for disability discrimination in the work place; needing to get off ones feet -to aid concentration and stability is a right.

    .

    Sue and retire early!

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • Early? Christ!, I'm 64 now and I can't afford to retire, now that America is in a second depression. Ain't life grand!

  • Not bad, maybe you should try a different rod angle, I noticed that you dipped (contaminated) towards the end of the video. :/

  • Good observation. You weren't suppose to see that. I was welding down hill. Daniel.

  • Thank you for your comment. I suppose I can weld most anything that is weldable. However, I've never welded pipe. I've always been a structural welder.
