The fatbob is cheaper because it is an air cooled engine that is used in most of Harleys and is probably way cheaper to make by now than a brand new liquid cooled engine that the Rod uses. That is just a guess, but hope it answers your question.

that made a lot of sense, yeah. I heard most of the air coold engins suffer from overheating when they are in a stop position, unlike the water cooled.

Those two bikes are as different as night and day. If you haven't made your choice yet, I suggest renting both of them and getting the one you like. Some dealers take the renting fee off the new bike purchase if you end up buying from them. Hope that helps.

i'm really torn between the fat bob and the vrsc night rod. they offered me $2k off an '09 Night Rod on the floor so it's $14900, which is the same as the '10 Fat Bob. Any thoughts?
