Great video! Both solidly scriptural, while showing sensitivity to those asking the questions, your approach will reach an audience which needs to hear the Word, but which may be less inclined to carefully seek a church which preaches it in its truth and purity, as the LCMS does. May God bless your work, and make it stir the hearts of seekers everywhere.
"Essentialism" is the idea that men and women are non-physically different from each other in a way that is biologically based. This concept is anathema to the mainstream of feminism.
In opposition to essentialism is "constructivism", which is the bread-and-butter of "gender theory". Basically, this means that behavior differences between men and women are "constructed" by cultural training.
The weight of scientific evidence appears to support essentialism rather than constructivism.
thank you so much for all of the videos, pastor! As a Lutheran college student at a Presbyterian school, it is helpful to learn about contemporary theological issues from such a devout and knowledgeable Lutheran. Many of the things you speak about in your videos I experience on a daily basis, so it is always nice to know how to argue scripturally about these topics. God Bless!
I really enjoy your videos. It is comforting to see young Pastors preaching the traditional, historical Gospel and stressing Grace and The Sacraments. I'm blessed to share that I worship at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Englewood FL and our Divine Service is Divine Service! My Pastor made me and many other members aware of your webcast and your fan base here is growing. Thanks be to God! God Bless You and may your ministry continue to grow.
@Preachrboy Due to the size of the original graphic, I would need to work up a new one. I'll try to keep it in my brain-database...but things get away from me. If I don't get to it, send me another shout in a few weeks, yes?
I have a question. How do I tell my friends that only men in the lutheran church can be pastor isnt sexist. Ive been asked why a bunch of times why only men but i dont really know what to say. What should I say?
@127thlegion: I am sure that you will receive a very detailed response to this question from the WE team. My short answer is that you probably will not persuade your friends that the ordination of men only to the pastoral office is not sexist considering the definition of sexism is "Attitudes, conditions, or behaviors that promote stereotyping of social roles based on gender".
You will basically find that the biblical worldview and the predominant worldview clash on this issue.
@127thlegion For the same reason men cannot have children. The nature of creation is such that the sexes are different. For the same reason we don't know why men don't get to have a uterus is the same reason a woman isn't to take the pulpit. We don't, and probably can't know in either case, but they are simple brute facts. Only about 30 years of all human thought is silly enough to label the obvious differences between the sexes as something with of an ethical problem.
