Ron is a strict constructionist, but it's not 1788. There's no more free land to grab & we have over 300M people. If you want to compete internationally in the 21st century, you need a degree of socialism.
We originally had no constitutional right to tax other Americans' income, but we'd be screwed without it. The constitution was meant to be amended and we have done so.
Also, I paid into SS and Medicare and I deserve it when I need it!
@MiHiVidz You are a 100% right. It is a shame that all candidates up there are selling us the LIE: to give up our entitlements that we have paid into with our labor. They are selling us austerity measures and calling it freedom. I love Ron`s foreign policy & audit of the FED but when it comes to his other issues he seems to be supporting the same 1% elite that dont want to give back to the peasants who made them the 1% rich
Ron Paul money bomb tomorrow. Check out my video response and go to Facebook and type in "Ron Paul's Ready, Ames, Fire Money Bomb". It is important to donate so that Ron Paul can win the Iowa Straw Poll. Donate for Ron Paul...do it for LIBERTY. Like this comment so that other supports may see that we are raising money for Ron Paul!!!! I'm just a broke college student entrepreneur, and I'm still donating 10 bucks. Share on FB, and Twitter hash tag #GOP2012 #ronpaul
As of 2009 people on welfare, subsidized housing, food stamps, WIC programs, etc., averaged incomes of almost 32,000 per year.
Thats's just for head of household. Other people in that household can also benefit. In other words per capita. So if there are four people in that household they can in effect be making huge amounts of money off taxpayers. When it comes to their taxes, they then can get earned income credits. Facts from "The Heritage Foundation."
@vetalltheway This strikes me as BS. I make 32000 a year and I don't get all these entitlements. I do teach in a poor urban area and I can tell you that the kids I teach aren't getting rich off of govt. entitlements.
I also can't square Ron Paul's statement "because we care about the poor, we have to look at this issue". In a pure free market, if yachts are more strongly demanded by the rich than healthcare is demanded by the poor, the poor go without. This is not too appealing to most people.
Ron Paul is a walking contradiction. He believes that no entitlements will help the poor and it's humanitarian to not have entitlements. F**K us all if Ron Paul becomes president.
Humans have a right to such things has healthcare, education, civil liberties, and non-privatized safe roads and bridges. F**K Free market it's the same as free trade and is side by side with privatization!
Not to mention that we simply can't afford Entitlements, or our current Foreign Policy.
If we keep living beyond our means, inflation will continue to erode the value of the dollar, and the poor will have it MUCH worse than they do now, while the rich thrive.
@Freethought42 Of course entitlements are important, otherwise government wouldn't exist. Everyone pays taxes and everyone gets essentials. Are you saying we should let poor people die? Why wouldn't rich people pay a little extra tax so that poor people don't die? Socialism means taking away from the rich to help the poor. I live in mid-upper class and I'm okay with paying extra taxes so that poor people don't starve and get medication.
I'm glad that you think the income tax is unreasonable.
I go a little farther than Paul in that I oppose all taxation, Paul supports the US Constitution when it comes to taxation, excluding the 16th amendment.
Article I, Section. 9.
Clause 4: No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken.
So, don't get the idea that I speak for Paul's views, only my own.
On that note, you said "without taxes there'd be no police or anything", I don't agree with this assessment.
Plenty of businesses in this country are able to hire security without forcibly taking money from people under the threat of imprisonment for noncompliance.
Police would exist without taxation, they would simply have to get funding like the rest of us do, through voluntary transactions.
@Freethought42 And why would anybody pay voluntary transactions?
And don't you think that people who pay voluntary transactions would get special treatment since it's only thanks to them that police gets their paychecks.
You fail.
You're suggesting some kind of semi-private police.
Well it's simple, if someone wants a service they pay for it.
"And don't you think that people who pay voluntary transactions would get special treatment since it's only thanks to them that police gets their paychecks."
Lol, you think the police don't already give certain people special treatment?
In a marketplace, police would be held accountable through competition.
When they have a monopoly on the use of force and arbitration of justice, they can do whatever they want.
@Freethought42 This is nothing but nonsense serving the elites interest. First of all the "some one else" you are speaking of if laboring would benefit from the entitlements you are advocating to cut from him. The notion to cut entitlements is nothing but an austerity measures elite are selling us in name of ECONOMIC LIBERTY that only serves the elite. Health care should be free and available to all in the so called greatest nation of the world.U wanna balance the budget stop wars & foreign aid.
As long as the entity we call government maintains it's moral authority over the income of poor, middle class, and the wealthy (who disproportionally get away with tax evasion), the "elites" you speak of will remain in control.
Entitlements are just an excuse to control our earnings, whether the entitlements be for wealthy bankers, military contractors, or poor people that can't pay their bills.
No one has the right to the labor of another individual.
@Freethought42 lets say your medical cost annually would total $1000, Are you saying you would not join a local cooperative that would reduce your cost to $500, saving you 500/mo because all u locals got a group discount. now lets say that the went national & because of increase of # of participants the same services only cost you 200/mo saving you 800/mo.It would NOT be civilized, morally just & economically wise for you to question your $200/mo input knowing the value you & society receive
Your lack of understanding when it comes to these issues is apparent. It stems from laziness which stems from poor parenting. Your vulgarity, whcih is the essence of verbal laziness, confirms the latter as well. The community expects that you inform yourself, and yet you rely on others to hand-feed you. Yes, I'd say you have a superior sense of entitlement!
YOUR A WALKING CONTRADICTION JENNFAYE! If you are to state that individuals are entitled to things such as healthcare and education, you therefore by necessity can not also state that individuals are entitled to their own body and the fruits of their own labor.
You can not profess a belief that individuals are entitled to both healthcare and civil liberties because the process of extorting coercively legitimately acquired income is the only means by which to fund a social healthcare program. It is an explicit violation of the principle of self ownership!
People that give nothing deserve nothing. I agree that the poor need help--but when someone forces someone else to help them (through taxation or other force), it becomes a tyranny.
The government takes our money by force, spends it as they see fit, then acts as if it was them that made the difference. It wasn't. It could've been us that helped another person out.
Democrat, Republican and Open Caucus groups formed independently and Caucused on National Caucus Day. The First National Presidential Caucus is now history and the results are in.
-On the Republican side, RON PAUL obliterated the field for the GOP generating the preference of 50% of GOP Caucuses. Mike Huckabee and Fred Thompson follow, generating 23.3% and 16.6% of Republican Caucus preferences, respectively!
"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less." -Ron Paul
Also You need to change party in some States to Rep. if you want your Indep. Tally that MAY be used. Im in CA and re- registering. You can get your Voter info at your State of Secretary website
Don't you get it. Ron Paul is not a third party candidate. He is running on the Republican ticket. He has a real chance of winning, unless so many decide not to vote for him b/c they think he can not win.
Sick & tired of government entitlement abuse such as wellfare, gov. grants being given for rediculouse reasons,(to the extent that we now have a man in ?-mark suit selling a book promising free money in television ads), & lastly; the "don't ask don't" tell approach to illegal workers in the United States. I believe Ron Paul is addressing these issues with decleration to reslove them.
Today's the day to express our thanks to Ron Paul! He has asked us for our help NOW and his campaign has said that the Dec 16 Tea Party will be too late to impact the crucial early primaries. Money is needed NOW! I just donated my $100 and I know that we can "stuff" Dr. Paul's campaign with cash today if we all give what we can! Let's show the "turkeys" who don't believe that Dr. Paul can win that we are not taking a day off! The fight for liberty continues! Donate Today & help post this!
THISNOVEMBER5TH. COM... NUMBER IS NOW OVER 8,312 THAT HAVE PLEDGED TO GIVE $100. THAT WILL BE $831,200 GIVEN ON NOVEMBER 5TH.
If we get 100,000 to commit, that will be $10 Million raised in ONE DAY for Dr. Paul. You think the news will take notice of that! C'mon people, I know $100 may seem like a lot, but think about what we're fighting for here. Let's make it happen!!!
What we should all do is buy a stamp that says Ron Paul for President and stamp every paper currency that goes through our hands. If you want to get the word out then what better way than currency which constantly changes hands. A nice slap in the face for the Federal Reserve lol. I have ordered my Stamp! You can use a marker!
Hey ReduceCO2 and especially pedegrew, you make yourselves ridiculous, like you've nothing original to say, when you spam the same message over and over in the same thread. If you supported Ron Paul, your mind would be stimulated to no end, and you'd never be at a loss for insightful arguments. Just trying to help.
I dont look at polls, heck I dont even vote in the polls, i vote when it matters, so do all my friends, my church, and everyone I meet on the street. Wait till its over, then you can say who you beat, until then stfu and step outta the way, 24 Ron Pual votes coming through, not on your silly polls.
You obviously don't realize that 70% of federal tax does NOT go towards infrastructure for the people but instead to line the pockets of bankers. Surprise!
Please, If you like Ron Paul please make a sign and put it in front of your house. We need to get his name outside of the internet and out to the streets. DO IT NOW
Are you aware that taxes are collected under the threat of incarceration? It is true that most people submit to the taxes long before heavily armed agents come to arrest them, but their submission does not justify the aggression any more than the obedience of a slave justifies slavery. Guns are for protection, not for raiding people's homes and taking their property. In order to become truly civilized, we must first reject the idea that might makes right.
I can't believe there is a politician who understand what real "Constitutional Rights" are AND dare to speak the truth even if it might cost him many people's votes.
We are better off, thanks to computers, airplanes, cable TV, etc., no thanks to the fed. gov., home of the $10,000 toilet seat, and which had nothing at all to do with any of those advances.
And Fed. Gov. services? True, by taking over airline security, they created such an atmosphere of passivity as to make 9/11 inevitable, etc. Use your head. No more pie-in-the-sky fantasyland! Ron Paul for freedom!
This "complex" society needs to be simplified. That is what Dr. Paul wants to do. Which is what needs to happen. Things do not get fixed by making things even more complex nor pushing the current complexity. "Complex" doesn't work. I think we have already proved that.
We do not need a national insurance! Look at Canada. The taxpayers pay into a system that does not get people into the doctors office with out additional fees. Example: A Cnadian pays 55% in taxes, pluss they pay $98.00 per month for national insurance for two adults, each time they see the doctor it's a $60.00 fee, they are put on waiting list if there is a need for surgery. Not a short waitine list; gallbladder surgery 18 month, Cardiac by pass 13 months you die before you get surgery!
It's too bad you missed my point. The rights that are taken away from hard working people and given to others because they are making bad choices and do not intend to change is wrong. You can't fix stupid with pouring more money into a broken system. That's why there needs to be a change to go back to the basics.
if you have to bitch about your taxs helping someone else than you should go fuck yourself.take the constitution and roll it up tight then take a hammer and beat it up your ass
"if you have to bitch about your taxs helping someone else than you should go fuck yourself.take the constitution and roll it up tight then take a hammer and beat it up your ass"
I don't mind helping out others with my money, but I do mind giving my money to the government to decide who I help out with my money.
My tax money went to funding Al Qaeda in the 80's, do you think I would have given my money to Al Qaeda?
Amerika is in a tough situation on lots of fronts. Conservative libertarianism is the worst choice you could make.If this philos.ever prevailed you would soon find yourself holding an empty bag.If you Paulbots had any brains youd be dangerous.Look into social libertarianism you'd be getting warmer.
Oh wise one, good thing we were saved by such a revolutionary and omnipotent mind such as yours. *end sarcasm*
Now please, I want the government to quit interfering with my life, if I wanted them to interfere with my life I would vote for Clinton or Giuliani. Unfortunately Democrats and Republicans both want to take away some kind of freedom. Ron Paul does not, he wants to go back as close as possible to our constitution.
Ron is right on mark with the response to entitlements. Medical care, housing, insurance, transportation, communications, food, etc are not RIGHTS! These things you must earn, work for before you can have them. That is your right, to WORK if you can perform the job, it is your right to have access to housing, food, clothing, transportation and medical care, but not at the expense of the other hard working tax paying person! You have the right to these if you work for it and paying for it!
you know entitlements encompass alot of things its not all welfare.I am part of a community and country I dont mind coming together for the betterment of my countrymen if im succesfull enough to help im glad to do it. our right to be rich as gates is not a right given by god its a right given by our people it comes with responsibility to help those that dont suceed to the same degree.
"our right to be rich as gates is not a right given by god its a right given by our people it comes with responsibility to help those that dont suceed to the same degree. "
Gates gives an extraordinary amount of money to charities each and every year, more than any other person in this country, he doesn't need the government to tell him that he should give his money to those less fortunate. He realizes he has more money than god, and he gives out accordingly.

and with regard to private institutions providing a better and more efficent service, this has not turned out to be the case in the UK, where the private firms see govt contracts as a blank check to fleece the ytaxpayer while providing a shoddy sub standard service despite all their talk of dynamic efficency
In France, Sweden and Canada they have decent health care provided or paid for by the state, and when u get medical treatment they give u whats necessary as opposed to sticking u for as much money as possible.
it depends on where you live in canada. in certain areas where tons of seniors live, the hospitals are taken up completely by them, and you cannot get looked after. in other areas, the government will pretty much just take care of the interests of immigrants only, so your healthcare is crappy, you cannot use the welfare system, etc
LISTENN UP FOLKS! Ron paul raised nearly 6 million last quarter and it got him on a lot of news stations! He needs to raise 12 million this time! PLEASE donate more money and PLEASE paint your town in signs and stickers of DR Paul! This is our country people! Lets take it back! RP 2008!
This is it fellow freedom lovers! We have some hurdles to tackle. Ron Paul's early success depends on us. Now is the time to help push Ron Paul's campaign contributions to a higher level. To do so and to get this man into the Presidential Election, simply go to gopdotcom and take a few seconds to Register To Vote Republican TODAY. Thank You!
The illusion of freedom is becoming known by a large group of people and its amazing especially to me. The reason is for years Ive been trying to tell people where we as a country are at is contrary to what our forefathers envisioned for this great country and its people. We must stand and we must give a clear and concise message and that is We want and will stand up for our rights and our Freedoms and we dont condone killing for profit.
sabrinac1:"If we're still able to vote by then." Its a sad but true statement. See most are starting to realize if what Dr. Paul is saying is true then doesnt that mean we are really not free? Or at least our freedom is dangling by a fine thread.
REGISTER REPUBLICIAN NOW: States with OPEN primaries are now CLOSING!!
You CANNOT switch parties after OCTOBER 12 in NEW YORK and NEW HAMPSHIRE and if you are not registered as republican by then, YOU CANNOT VOTE FOR RON PAUL
I am so happy that I found this youtube video. You see, I am a 32 year old American female who decided, at age 23 to see something else in the world. So, I had my paperwork prepared and moved in with my German boyfriend. Now, we're married over 8 years and have three German-American children. I am learning that the USA is swaying toward full government control. Well, Germany had that. The world will not stand for it. Ron Paul has my vote. If we're still able to vote by then.
Wrap up your Halloween candy in a Ron Paul flier that says things like 'Abolish the Federal Reserve!' 'Get rid of the income tax!' 'End the war!'The kids will bring it home so their parents can see!
We passed out 47,000 flyers and sent 295,000 emails that told people that Ron Paul is a tool of liberal power borders like Hillary Rotten Clinton and George Soros, and all through Lew Rockwell and his girlfriend Cindy Sheehan.
Our message was this:
Dont allow COMINTERN and ANSWER to steal the election for Hillary Rotten . Their promises are unrealistic and designed to split the GOT vote the same way Perot did in 1992. Fight Communism and Socialism. REJECT RON PAUL AND COMMUNISM!
Actually, no, the judges probably don't care about how big the gov. is. But judges are just as susceptible to praise as anything else. Programs to help "the poor" and "the elderly," garner grateful praise from their beneficiaries, while ruling such programs unconstitutional earns you only vituperation, no matter the necessity. But right is right, no matter how unpopular it is.
You're saying "I don't know why it's unconstitutional and I don't want to hear it." Well I hope you will read my explanation, just in case it IS true. (You, after all, have provided NO proof in the Constitution for the validity of these programs.)
Article 1, Section 8 lists only 18 powers (army, navy, foreign commerce, etc.) granted to the fed. govt. The 10th Amendment says every power not listed is for the states or people. The, say, FDA isn't listed; it is reserved to the states/people.
1) We have found a way to right the wrongs. Ron Paul '08.
2) For heaven's sake, how many times do I have to say that WHY the judges are wrong doesn't matter? I have provided PROOF in the Constitution that they are wrong, and you have provided NO PROOF in the Constitution that they are right. Again, do you understand how the parts of the Constitution that I provided at LEAST can be INTERPRETED to show the unconstitutionality of programs like Social Security? If not, I will explain it to you.
Well, aside from just saying that you differ with his "philosophy" that those programs are unconstitutional, could you use the Constitution to disprove the evidence that I just provided? Again, "because they say so" is not proof. The Constitution is. Do you even SEE how we get the idea that programs like Social Security are unconstitutional? If not, I'll explain it if you like.
I notice that YOU have NO explanation why Ron Paul (and I) are wrong.
But, in an attempt to fathom the decisions of judges, they probably want corrupt big government so they wield more power just as much as every other division of the federal government. WHY their wrong doesn't matter, however, if upon actually reading those parts of the Constitution, you realize that they are in fact wrong.
Well, I am expecting you and other laymen to actually read Article 1, Section 8 and the Tenth Amendment, before saying you disagree with Ron Paul. Yes, the courts have not challenged things like Social Security: that's why the PEOPLE need to read the Constitution and elect someone who will. Please read those passages and logically explain why I'm wrong, besides saying "because other people say so."

Are you JOKING? I PROVIDED proof! Article 1, Section 8 and Amendment 10 in the Constitution! I thought I wouldn't actually have to copy and paste every word here because you were capable of looking it up yourself, but since you apparently don't know how to type "US Constitution" into Google, here goes:
I will say one last time: reply to my other four points if you want me to continue replying to yours. Because the most important point is the blatant unconstitutionality of the vast majority of federal government programs, you must provide proof (beyond "I'll let the scholars debate it", because that's precisely what we and Ron Paul are doing) that the constitution does in fact allow them.
I'll be sure to tell my public schoolteacher friend, whose school's bureaucracy is driving her crazy and swallowing all their funding, how happy she should be instead.
Right, everything was smaller, very cunning obfuscation. You know as well as I that gov-all levels-was proportionally smaller, 3-8% of GDP, unlike 50%(!) today.
I do know public service folks-they're miserable, stuck in belly of the fed. beast, and they know it. I hope to free some before I die. Geo. Washington: "Like fire, government is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." Gov. is necessary evil, still an evil, why it must be "kept from mischief by the chains of the constitution."
the way things are being done needs to be brought to light.they distract us with all other aspects of life so we dont pay attention to the fact that we are slaves. They print more money makeing every dollar you have half value.inflation.The United States Riches being stolen by business men that go around the world doing it to the "comon man"
Yes, Ron Paul did say he would come home immediately, and with good reason. You really don't know much about this guy, do you, for someone who supposedly so disagrees with him.
Sorry, I didn't read this post before posting my other one.
1) How am I supposed to disprove you when say it is "STUPID" without saying why?
2) I'll say it again: the federal government IS allowed to regulate interstate commerce. Also, there is a big difference between our trade with other countries and the government's interference in it. American companies could still trade with other countries' ones without things like NAFTA--we were doing it before them.
Stating it's "NOT EFFICIENT" without providing any additional reason proves nothing. Again, states can tailor their own programs. With "managing the airways," Switzerland can do it: why not a state? With pollution, Ron Paul supports adherence to environmental standards because polluting the world is violation of others' property; but states can handle the matter (as they do all matters of property infringement). You have neither proven why they can't nor responded to my other four points.
2 & 3) (damn character limit) If so, why not abolish the states and even the federal government and establish worldwide government? Clearly the most efficient and democratic system is a decentralized one because each state can get what its people want and institute a program more tailored to each state's situation.
You haven't responded to my other post's four far more important points, but I will answer your rebuttals of these three.
1) Yes, efficiency is the best criteria. If not, you contradict yourself with 2 & 3. Also, efficiency allows the same limited resources to provide for more people. But, again: if the elderly of a state find the private sector isn't providing for them properly (and efficiently), they support representatives in their state governments to institute programs.
1) Exactly: private institutions care about their bottom line, leading to great efficiency. The government is less efficient.
2) In cases when people find that government WOULD do a better job than private institutions, they, as I already said, could have their state government do it.
3) Federal government regulation of interstate commerce is allowed under the Constitution, as are, probably, most of the "other issues" you mention, but why on Earth is pollution impractical at the state level?
1) Why SHOULD Switzerland's role in the Middle East be any different that ours?
2) Yes, nothing can happen "immediately." Removing the troops would take, perhaps, a few weeks. But Hillary and Obama want to stay longer than that.
3) You still, haven't acknowledged the fact that you falsely said we need a progressive to get us out of Iraq; you, as I said, don't have your facts straight.
4) Courts have been wrong before. Go read, in the Constitution, Article 1, Section 8 and the 10th Amendment.
Also, we have to "dump" public lands, the EPA, FDA, etc. because (1) the Constitution prohibits them, and (2) as proven by our mindboggling debt, we can't afford them. In most cases, the private sector can be encouraged to more efficiently replace programs like the FDA ("Doctors Board of America Seal of Approval" or something) and in the cases where they can't, states can set up their own individual programs tailored to their own wants or circumstances.
No, they want to remove the troops from Iraq in a certain timeframe- like 6 or 9 months. Paul wants them out immediately. But either way, you said we need a progressive that will put an end to this useless war, as if Ron Paul doesn't satisfy that. Also, yes: ALL places outside the U. S. What business do we have "fighting terrorism" or whatever around the globe? Switzerland doesn't, and they don't seem to find many national security threats.
1) You provide no reason why we shouldn't end social security, etc. except that "the philosophy is well past."
2) Hillary and Obama both support leaving 100,000 troops in Iraq for some period of time; Paul supports pulling all troops out of everywhere in the world, immediately. So, who will end the unnecessary war? Get your facts straight before posting.
There's a lot more irrational faith in big government. For 100+ years, fed gov was a fraction of its current size, and we did just fine. Corporations have to make their customers happy, or they go out of business. Gov. doesn't have to make anyone happy; if they screw up, they can just vote themselves more of our money. So who do you trust, someone who goes bankrupt if he doesn't serve you well, or a gov. hack who can screw you and just reach into your pocket for more dough?
if you want to be a slave to the corporate masters and accept their crumbs vote for ron paul. here's one example Monsanto is gonna own the patents on most of the bio farm crops. is ron paul gonna let that continue. is he gonna stop china or saudi arabia from buying monsanto? the answer is no!
If you want to live in a land where the government owns most of the land, and takes a "big brother" role in decisions that affect your life, then don't vote for Ron Paul. Because we are well on our way to that form of government, no matter if you vote Democrat of Republican. However, if you believe in the ideas of Thomas Jefferson, and Ben Franklin, the idea of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness, then there are no other choices.
This man will get rid of the IRS, and the Federal Reserve Bank. Does anyone notice our national debt is 8.5 trillion dollars now?
Change the nation before it go bankrupt...he is our only chance!!! If the nation go bankrupt our home will be seize nothing will be left for us!!!!! VOTE FOR RON PAUL 2008!!!!!!
Duncan Hunter was implicated in the Duke Cunningham investigation because of his close connections with both the congressman and contractor Brent Wilkes, who was indicted and charged with bribery of a public official. In Iraq, and Iran, Duncan wants more dead baby's, women and USA soldiers. he also wants to bring back prohibition. he's a baptist that wants alcohol even wine to be unavailable to americans
"un soir j'ai vue un esprie . il ma dit " tu vas mourir " est il a disparue . maintenant que vous avez lu sa vous aller mourir dans 3 jours exactement sauf si vous mettez sa sur 50 video, c'est pas de moi"
how is he a socialist? just because he wants to raise the minimum wage to something that one could actually survive off of. Nader also wants to instate corporation control, which is amazing because the corporations run too much of the government from congress to the media. They influence our politicians greatly to vote for what the corps want. Also, nader wants to make the third parties have more of a chance.
Actually by making this country one of competition that would force citizens to become more productive. We are in this position today because of the crooked government and how they would like everyone to become spoiled, lazy brats who've never known the true value of a dollar. So when you're in debt by hundreds of thousands of dollars the big corporations will have you by the balls. Then what ? Exactly your life now belongs to them.
No, he wouldn't. I think he made it clear that such an issue would be between him and the patient, as well as the patient's support network. The 'right' that he's questioning is the replacement of that support with Federal entitlements, which are not only damaging to society, but not explicitly authorized by the Constitution.
I don't think you've looked into what you were reading. The same author of that article posted what numbersusa posted but at the same time numbersusa also gives Ron Paul a B+ on illegal immigration reduction.
Ron Paul!, YOU ROCK! Thank you for running for president! Talk about a pair of big balls, this guy has been fighting for our rights for a very long time.
TRUTH IS NOT A VIRUS! Ron Paul is the only candidate interested in telling us the real truth! The 9/11 anniversary is approaching and I just wanted to let everyone know that thanks to our gov't., we now consider 9/11 an anniversary of terrorism but we all know that in truth, they KILLED our fellow Am.'s for their own political gain for this "one world gov't." which is coming to pass. Am.'s need to get ANGRY! We need to say, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"-Network 1976.
But did you know that Ron Paul opposed giving D.C. residents a representative to Congress and electoral vote, he voted NO on campaign finance reform & lobbyists' disclosures of bundled donations. He supports UNLIMITED campaign contributions, money getting even bigger role in politics and corruption continues getting stronger. It's all in "ontheissuesdocorg" non-partisan politics site. Vote for Paul, vote for the-same-old folks.
Kursio, though I think you're well intended, I believe the effect of our campaign contribution laws is in fact incumbent protection despite the claims. Please google the terms: harrybrowne. org what we're up against. It will be the 1st item. Then tell me what you think.
Paul, I'm impressed with your solid understanding of economics and having the balls to be so forthright explanations to the masses, even though it often goes against what most of us were trained and taught to believe from birth.
h t t p : / / w w w . ronpaulpostcards . com / foundersflyer . h t m l
Download these and print them out on flyers and please pass them out, pin them up on telephone poles, near bus stops, train stations, etc. etc. We need to spread the word, or else the doubts that Ron Paul losing the election will come true if people sit back and doubt, instead of ACT! Words are one thing, actions are another!
Greatest American Alive..A 2nd Is Distant..God Bless This Man..He is Honest, Consistent...Real, And He Has My Greatest Respect Thank Yoy Dr. Paul for What You Do.. and Have Done For Years
how can anyone NOT vote for this man? He is not only passionate but he's felt the same way for over 20 years. He doesn't change his mind based on popular opinion but on what's right for our country and for the individual making them "free" people, not a nation owned by the government.
The real problem is the government overtaxing us all, they leave only enough for the average american to survive and get by. They want you to think there is no other solution than to socialize, but that is far from the truth. They were the ones who created this problem, the real solution is to cut spending and give more of our own money back!
So, you think there is a nursing shortage now? Just wait until medical professional wage controls are implemented under national healthcare plan. The way to beat socialism is to be a lazy ass and not work, like everyone else who wants something for nothing...
The country would then be forced to join a North American Union to find cut rate medical workers. Go read various version of the amnesty bills that thought is in the documents!
I find his position on entitlements to be a little simplistic.
Without say, an entitlement to good education for example, then wealth and class divisions become entrenched.
Ron Paul is also suggesting that folks should rely upon their families and charity for health care. WHAT? I think even a cursory examination of things at the moment already demonstrates that there are many many people who havn't found the assistance they need there.
What we have is not a free market, lawyers sue hospitals for millions of dollars for small mistakes, driving prices up for everybody. The government taxes so much money from us we can barely make ends meat. The solution is to stop these multi million dollar lawsuits and give our own money back! Cut spending and everybody in America could afford true FREE MARKET health care.
a very confused and misdirecting answer. the role of government at its core is to pool the resources of the nation and distribute them according to need. thus it stops functioning as a tool for the rich and powerful and becomes a functioning tool and executor for a just and mindful people.
Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul, RON PAUL, Ron Paul.
I would rather see trillions of tax dollars stay in the states, let the states & local gov'ts and charities work together to craft solutions close to home, less waste, less corruption, closer to the people so we have some say.

Facts from "The Heritage Foundation."
vetalltheway 1 year ago

Your Entitlement takes away from the fruits of someone else's labor.
Social Liberties are just as important as Economic Liberties.
If we are not economically AND socially free, then we are no longer America.
It's a shame Reps and Dems both want to take your liberties.
Liberty comes with Personal Responsibility.
If you don't want freedom, maybe the EU is for you.
Freethought42 4 years ago 14
Not to mention that we simply can't afford Entitlements, or our current Foreign Policy.
If we keep living beyond our means, inflation will continue to erode the value of the dollar, and the poor will have it MUCH worse than they do now, while the rich thrive.
Freethought42 4 years ago 6
@Freethought42 Of course entitlements are important, otherwise government wouldn't exist. Everyone pays taxes and everyone gets essentials. Are you saying we should let poor people die? Why wouldn't rich people pay a little extra tax so that poor people don't die? Socialism means taking away from the rich to help the poor. I live in mid-upper class and I'm okay with paying extra taxes so that poor people don't starve and get medication.
MrWsad 6 months ago
@MrWsad
"Are you saying we should let poor people die?"
Obesity has a much higher rate among those in poverty in America.
In my estimation, giving these people free food will only increase their chance of death...
So perhaps I should be asking you why you want poor people to die?
Or maybe you could just stop trolling, and try to actually understand the non-aggression principle.
Taxation can only be accomplished through the threat of violence. Theft and coercion is never moral.

MrWsad 6 months ago
@Freethought42 I have seen poor people starve and die. Obesity is not higher among those in poverty in USA.
Oh, and, are you saying we shouldn't have taxation?
By the way, it's not theft and coercion.
If you want to live in a country, you must follow the rules of the government.
And about 15% taxes is perfectly reasonable.
I agree that federal income tax is unreasonable.
But there needs to be a tax to make sure everyone can live.
Oh and btw without taxes there'd be no police or anything
MrWsad 6 months ago
@MrWsad
Freethought42 6 months ago
@MrWsad
Freethought42 6 months ago
@Freethought42 And why would anybody pay voluntary transactions?
And don't you think that people who pay voluntary transactions would get special treatment since it's only thanks to them that police gets their paychecks.
You fail.
You're suggesting some kind of semi-private police.
MrWsad 6 months ago
@MrWsad
Freethought42 6 months ago
@Freethought42 You selfish bugfucker.
MiHiVidz 2 weeks ago
@Freethought42 This is nothing but nonsense serving the elites interest. First of all the "some one else" you are speaking of if laboring would benefit from the entitlements you are advocating to cut from him. The notion to cut entitlements is nothing but an austerity measures elite are selling us in name of ECONOMIC LIBERTY that only serves the elite. Health care should be free and available to all in the so called greatest nation of the world.U wanna balance the budget stop wars & foreign aid.
MAZDAKPRODUCTION 1 week ago
@MAZDAKPRODUCTION
Freethought42 6 days ago
@Freethought42 lets say your medical cost annually would total $1000, Are you saying you would not join a local cooperative that would reduce your cost to $500, saving you 500/mo because all u locals got a group discount. now lets say that the went national & because of increase of # of participants the same services only cost you 200/mo saving you 800/mo.It would NOT be civilized, morally just & economically wise for you to question your $200/mo input knowing the value you & society receive
MAZDAKPRODUCTION 6 days ago
Your lack of understanding when it comes to these issues is apparent. It stems from laziness which stems from poor parenting. Your vulgarity, whcih is the essence of verbal laziness, confirms the latter as well. The community expects that you inform yourself, and yet you rely on others to hand-feed you. Yes, I'd say you have a superior sense of entitlement!
fencecat422 4 years ago 5
YOUR A WALKING CONTRADICTION JENNFAYE! If you are to state that individuals are entitled to things such as healthcare and education, you therefore by necessity can not also state that individuals are entitled to their own body and the fruits of their own labor.
GaleryonTheMystic 4 years ago 6
You can not profess a belief that individuals are entitled to both healthcare and civil liberties because the process of extorting coercively legitimately acquired income is the only means by which to fund a social healthcare program. It is an explicit violation of the principle of self ownership!
GaleryonTheMystic 4 years ago 6
People that give nothing deserve nothing. I agree that the poor need help--but when someone forces someone else to help them (through taxation or other force), it becomes a tyranny.
The government takes our money by force, spends it as they see fit, then acts as if it was them that made the difference. It wasn't. It could've been us that helped another person out.

Gates gives an extraordinary amount of money to charities each and every year, more than any other person in this country, he doesn't need the government to tell him that he should give his money to those less fortunate. He realizes he has more money than god, and he gives out accordingly.

By the way, I think I know more about the Constitution than you do, but I didn't (mean to) claim to be any sort of official constitutional scholar.
pawtrammell 4 years ago 2
Actually, no, the judges probably don't care about how big the gov. is. But judges are just as susceptible to praise as anything else. Programs to help "the poor" and "the elderly," garner grateful praise from their beneficiaries, while ruling such programs unconstitutional earns you only vituperation, no matter the necessity. But right is right, no matter how unpopular it is.
aswinfordwasem 4 years ago
You're saying "I don't know why it's unconstitutional and I don't want to hear it." Well I hope you will read my explanation, just in case it IS true. (You, after all, have provided NO proof in the Constitution for the validity of these programs.)
Article 1, Section 8 lists only 18 powers (army, navy, foreign commerce, etc.) granted to the fed. govt. The 10th Amendment says every power not listed is for the states or people. The, say, FDA isn't listed; it is reserved to the states/people.
pawtrammell 4 years ago 2
1) We have found a way to right the wrongs. Ron Paul '08.
2) For heaven's sake, how many times do I have to say that WHY the judges are wrong doesn't matter? I have provided PROOF in the Constitution that they are wrong, and you have provided NO PROOF in the Constitution that they are right. Again, do you understand how the parts of the Constitution that I provided at LEAST can be INTERPRETED to show the unconstitutionality of programs like Social Security? If not, I will explain it to you.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
Well, aside from just saying that you differ with his "philosophy" that those programs are unconstitutional, could you use the Constitution to disprove the evidence that I just provided? Again, "because they say so" is not proof. The Constitution is. Do you even SEE how we get the idea that programs like Social Security are unconstitutional? If not, I'll explain it if you like.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
Way to use logic to prove a point. Please don't post such pointless text.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
I notice that YOU have NO explanation why Ron Paul (and I) are wrong.
But, in an attempt to fathom the decisions of judges, they probably want corrupt big government so they wield more power just as much as every other division of the federal government. WHY their wrong doesn't matter, however, if upon actually reading those parts of the Constitution, you realize that they are in fact wrong.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
Well, I am expecting you and other laymen to actually read Article 1, Section 8 and the Tenth Amendment, before saying you disagree with Ron Paul. Yes, the courts have not challenged things like Social Security: that's why the PEOPLE need to read the Constitution and elect someone who will. Please read those passages and logically explain why I'm wrong, besides saying "because other people say so."

Are you JOKING? I PROVIDED proof! Article 1, Section 8 and Amendment 10 in the Constitution! I thought I wouldn't actually have to copy and paste every word here because you were capable of looking it up yourself, but since you apparently don't know how to type "US Constitution" into Google, here goes:
pawtrammell 4 years ago
I will say one last time: reply to my other four points if you want me to continue replying to yours. Because the most important point is the blatant unconstitutionality of the vast majority of federal government programs, you must provide proof (beyond "I'll let the scholars debate it", because that's precisely what we and Ron Paul are doing) that the constitution does in fact allow them.
pawtrammell 4 years ago

Yes, Ron Paul did say he would come home immediately, and with good reason. You really don't know much about this guy, do you, for someone who supposedly so disagrees with him.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
Sorry, I didn't read this post before posting my other one.
1) How am I supposed to disprove you when say it is "STUPID" without saying why?
2) I'll say it again: the federal government IS allowed to regulate interstate commerce. Also, there is a big difference between our trade with other countries and the government's interference in it. American companies could still trade with other countries' ones without things like NAFTA--we were doing it before them.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
Stating it's "NOT EFFICIENT" without providing any additional reason proves nothing. Again, states can tailor their own programs. With "managing the airways," Switzerland can do it: why not a state? With pollution, Ron Paul supports adherence to environmental standards because polluting the world is violation of others' property; but states can handle the matter (as they do all matters of property infringement). You have neither proven why they can't nor responded to my other four points.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
2 & 3) (damn character limit) If so, why not abolish the states and even the federal government and establish worldwide government? Clearly the most efficient and democratic system is a decentralized one because each state can get what its people want and institute a program more tailored to each state's situation.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
You haven't responded to my other post's four far more important points, but I will answer your rebuttals of these three.
1) Yes, efficiency is the best criteria. If not, you contradict yourself with 2 & 3. Also, efficiency allows the same limited resources to provide for more people. But, again: if the elderly of a state find the private sector isn't providing for them properly (and efficiently), they support representatives in their state governments to institute programs.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
1) Exactly: private institutions care about their bottom line, leading to great efficiency. The government is less efficient.
2) In cases when people find that government WOULD do a better job than private institutions, they, as I already said, could have their state government do it.
3) Federal government regulation of interstate commerce is allowed under the Constitution, as are, probably, most of the "other issues" you mention, but why on Earth is pollution impractical at the state level?
pawtrammell 4 years ago
1) Why SHOULD Switzerland's role in the Middle East be any different that ours?
2) Yes, nothing can happen "immediately." Removing the troops would take, perhaps, a few weeks. But Hillary and Obama want to stay longer than that.
3) You still, haven't acknowledged the fact that you falsely said we need a progressive to get us out of Iraq; you, as I said, don't have your facts straight.
4) Courts have been wrong before. Go read, in the Constitution, Article 1, Section 8 and the 10th Amendment.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
Also, we have to "dump" public lands, the EPA, FDA, etc. because (1) the Constitution prohibits them, and (2) as proven by our mindboggling debt, we can't afford them. In most cases, the private sector can be encouraged to more efficiently replace programs like the FDA ("Doctors Board of America Seal of Approval" or something) and in the cases where they can't, states can set up their own individual programs tailored to their own wants or circumstances.
pawtrammell 4 years ago
No, they want to remove the troops from Iraq in a certain timeframe- like 6 or 9 months. Paul wants them out immediately. But either way, you said we need a progressive that will put an end to this useless war, as if Ron Paul doesn't satisfy that. Also, yes: ALL places outside the U. S. What business do we have "fighting terrorism" or whatever around the globe? Switzerland doesn't, and they don't seem to find many national security threats.
pawtrammell 4 years ago

If you want to live in a land where the government owns most of the land, and takes a "big brother" role in decisions that affect your life, then don't vote for Ron Paul. Because we are well on our way to that form of government, no matter if you vote Democrat of Republican. However, if you believe in the ideas of Thomas Jefferson, and Ben Franklin, the idea of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness, then there are no other choices.

how is he a socialist? just because he wants to raise the minimum wage to something that one could actually survive off of. Nader also wants to instate corporation control, which is amazing because the corporations run too much of the government from congress to the media. They influence our politicians greatly to vote for what the corps want. Also, nader wants to make the third parties have more of a chance.
nozgrd74 4 years ago
Actually by making this country one of competition that would force citizens to become more productive. We are in this position today because of the crooked government and how they would like everyone to become spoiled, lazy brats who've never known the true value of a dollar. So when you're in debt by hundreds of thousands of dollars the big corporations will have you by the balls. Then what ? Exactly your life now belongs to them.

The real problem is the government overtaxing us all, they leave only enough for the average american to survive and get by. They want you to think there is no other solution than to socialize, but that is far from the truth.
Antipodean78 4 years ago
What we have is not a free market, lawyers sue hospitals for millions of dollars for small mistakes, driving prices up for everybody. The government taxes so much money from us we can barely make ends meat. The solution is to stop these multi million dollar lawsuits and give our own money back! Cut spending and everybody in America could afford true FREE MARKET health care.
AnduinX 4 years ago
a very confused and misdirecting answer. the role of government at its core is to pool the resources of the nation and distribute them according to need. thus it stops functioning as a tool for the rich and powerful and becomes a functioning tool and executor for a just and mindful people.
