When it comes to international play, I can't stand Russia due to the way they presented themselves at the 2002 Olympics. However, they do have some great hockey players.  Mogilny is one of my all time favorites.

I actually remember refs screwing Russia in Salt Lake with 5 straight penalties in the 2nd period. So please elaborate

yeah! Russia is back. It's obvious that none of Europe teams could match them now. Only Canada can and i hope they will meety again at Olympic Finals. It will be game of the ALL TIMES!

i am Canadian so obviously, i am heartbroken. at the same time, russia deserved it. i'm happy because it adds to the canada-russia rivalry. i know the russian hockey program was in a bit of a mess but now u hav a good goalie to complement ur topnotch scorers. nabokov may be the best russian goalie since tretiak. however, we shall see who is superior come 2010 olympics!!!

out of old timers i'm hoping morozov, zubov, gonchar, kovalev, maybe yashin could make it, but who knows.. not too likely

hahaha 15 years without title and big red machine hahahahahaha. czechs can call themselves machine for 5 titles in one decade, swedes, fins as well are much more successful. Even slovaks have more medals hahaha big red machine.

we got nothing for hossa, sykora going for the pens two games with no points. jagr - my favorite player - is a moody inconsistent elite player who is the best czech in the nhl, but the rest just pull a hossa in the playoffs.
