as a catholic, I feel, that if you truly believe there is no god, in your heart. god would not punish you. like a child that doesn't know any better..you're considered innocent. I never cared for his approach but I doubt Christians are cheering his illness on. We're suppose to pray for even our most worse enemies

Not all Christians are like that in 2:00. I pray to him to become like the Apostle Paul because I am certainly that maybe he will hit a spiritual moment experience as it has hit me. If he lives, Good! If he dies, I will pray to Jesus Christ to have mercy on his soul so that he may enter the golden gates of heaven. I know that most Christians are not in the road of Christ; however, I pray that he lives.

But I enjoyed watching him on youtube.There is no doubt he is an important intellectual.

@atheismzero As head of the Catholic church Pope Benedict XVI (formerly of the Hitler Youth) has much to answer for. Hitchens is 100% correct in saying the Pope should be held accountable.

@LoneAtheist People in such positions of influence should be held to a much stricter accountability than less-influential people. I mean, Benedick has said that condom use will actually promote the spread of AIDS and other STDs, and people believe him. We all know he knows this is complete bullshit, so he should have the deaths of any person who's subscribed to this notion because of him. It's virtually murder.

I only found out recently too. I am not an anti-theist like Hitchens. I wish there was good loving God out there, but see no evidence. That being said any God who would send this man to hell for speaking his mind honestly is not worthy of one bit of respect or worship.

Thankyou for the wonderful post. We must not see this as a death sentence, grim as the odds may be. He is a tough guy, and i'm certain he will wage a fierce fight and come out on top.
