guys I have a question... alokyadav15 has chosen the setting "erase and use the entire disk", if I install in vmware does it than really erase my whole harddisk or does it automatically create a partition on my harddrive for backtrack? If so do i need to specifie the size of the partition somewhere or is this done automatically? Very nice vid by the way and thank you all in advance!!!

its about erasing virtual hard-disk so its safe ..

make sure you not using your physical disk as virtual disk when you created VM

@antonybeach notice on the dialog where it says "This disk contains no operating systems."  If it had been your physical disk, you would have seen your host operating system depicted there.

if you want to flush your installation then overwrite that partition or if you are in dual boot with windows mode then delete that partition with easeUS Partition manger and merge it with your local system partition

or if you are dual booting with ubunut then use gparted to manage partitions

but

very important these operations are very high risky then use with care

I opened vm and chose to existing machine and browsed backtrack folder n placed it.

Thanks for the vid! This was so much easier than Oracle VirtualBox. I installed BT5-64 on Win7 on a 2nd hard drive as demonstrated here and VMware preserved all my folders and backups on the 2nd hard drive; nothing lost! :`)
