  • Buy ammo at SGammo better. Best prices I've found. Not even with the cheap 10% discount does ammoforsale(dot)com match the price of the ammo at SG

  • I think plugs for vendors or manufactures is fine provided you are allowed to tell it like it is. If the product has problems, say it. If the vendor is a smart ass then say it. Just tell it like is as you have always done.

    Keep up the excellent vids.

  • I like that KC shirt sir!

  • I would never go shooting with Hickok... I would miss, and blame the gun... he would take it and hit the gong...

  • might have to pick up one of these..even tho iam a ruger guy...you know made in usa.. this would be good ranch pistol for me

  • @chapmaker46 This is made in the Phillippines...

  • hey Greg, Just picked up an old mil spec norinco 1911a1, it apeared to be pretty much unused...........treated it to a new set of springs, and it runs like a champ, and shoots right with the sights.........may be my cheapest gun, but definately one of my favorites.

Just did a couple of vids with it, check them out.

  • seems to be worth 400.00 bucks.im starting to miss my old military clunker that i used to have.replaced most parts with replacements from a company from hardwick VT.forgot the name.nice old style commander hammer.what a rig .shot well...wonder where that gun is now.

  • Keep the ATI for yourself and send me the Ed Brown. Good deal? LOL

  • I would pay the extra 200 for the RUGER :-) MADE IN USA

  • @jigsaw183 they are too hard to find now sadly.

  • i wish u were my grampa but im from england i hate england i wish i lived in america

  • its got a chunk missing from the slide

  • 1911 is the most trusted gun in the philippines ... police and villains alike.

  • Any updates on this pistol?

  • Comment removed

  • @francisceno1976 are you shooting low like hickok??

  • Id like to see a vid on the les baer s.r.p

  • I use this as my EDC, i love it. shots great and does what i need it to

  • its looks like a pretty good gun,400 bucks is a steal to for a 1911,thanks for the vid man.

  • Hahahah! Great video sir!

  • Id like to see you do a video of a Nighthawk 1911 :D those babys are pricey :o!

  • So tired of people saying "by in us" that's such a weak argument in today's economy. Even the us government doesn't buy all their stuff in the us... Doesn't mean their hurting the economy. The market happens on a global scale now. We gotta support other countries in order for them to support us, no country's economy is self sustaining. Just look at the conflict between the USA and Iraq, yet the two can not survive without the other-economically speaking.

  • by the shit in the us more jobs

  • if u get a chance look at a PARA ORDNANCE GI EXPERT i bet u would love the trigger pull i just pick one up today its nice crisp n short pull 3.5 trigger pull

  • Limited Knowledge and Hickok45 cannot be contained in the same sentence.

  • I bought a GSG-1911. It was imported by ATI.. this shoots a .22lr. I haven't shot it yet, does anyone know anything about those?

  • @ctophu

They're excellent and accurate. Made in Germany. Use full power ammo and only LR. Read and learn the manual, they don't disassemble like a .45 1911.

Use a chopstick for a pin push. The frame is aluminum---be mindful of scratching.

  • Can someone help me ? I was thinking of purchasing an armscor m200 .38spc for 180 is that a good price and will the gun hold up

  • I have a Colt, Ruger, and Kimber... and Rock Island Nickel finished GI .45. The nickel plating in the Rock Island is gorgeous. Not to mention it shoots well. Also made in the Phillippines and cost me $440.

  • Hello: Hickok45 makes that gun look good. For $400.00 the triger can't be great. But .45 acp is great for self defence in any bramd gun. Thats 1 thing the Goverment got right, it's probably saved many service mens lifes..

  • I have an ATI Hp9 DA/SA made by Tisas, that holds 18 rds. Uncommon model, but so far love it at the range. Cost $350

  • This guy should go on Top Shot and show those pussies who the boss is xD

  • mabuhay [long live] from the gun loving people of p.i. mr. hickock!

  • A 4 inch 1911 is designed for close quarter encounter NOT for long range. It is a good gun Mr. Hickok45 and also The Rock Island Armory. Its a new gun and you just have to deal with the trigger. I would pay 400 dollars for it than that rediculous 2300 dollars. Filipino gunsmiths are the best in the world. And if you say 'you're not promoting Philippine guns..you have already promoted it by saying that. Hahahaha

  • I have the Cimarron 1911, also made in the Philippines. Cost me 800, but has a high polish finish.

  • Comment removed

  • hi hickok45 thanks for promoting products made in our country. ati is made by shooter arms mfg that the company that also make 1911 for century arms and iver jonhson. filipinos made fine 1911. bcoz the m 1911 was made for mindanao . m stands for mindanao that were the 1st 45 acp was made for. hickok hope you cloud give the history of 1911. more power and merry christmas!!

  • @flowercy17

I believe the Moros were the first that experienced the business end of the .45 1911.That apparently made a big impression throughout the Philippines. Guerilla, Ami and Brit use of them on the Japs during WW2 solidified the gun's "One Shot Knockdown" rep.

Since the Islamic Moros harbor al Quaida in the Philippines, maybe ANOTHER vigorous application of .45 ACP Kickass is called for.

The decapitated-then-buried-in-a-raw-pigskin Psy War mindfuck also has appeal.

    Why not?

  • so overall what do you think of the gun? Im strongly considering picking one up. This will be my first and only handgun. I have 400$ and I want a 1911. Good or bad idea??

  • I love your videos. I just got into the 1911 world, and have bought a remington r1 centinneal and a kimber raptor 11, i would love to see some more kimber videos! I would also like to know your opinion about what the best cheaper ammo you have shot has been. Thanks keep up the good work!!!

  • With the Christmas season coming up i've been kicking around the idea of getting another of 1911 since I sold my last one. Im wondering if I should look into one of these guns, a base model Para / Kimber / Ect. or just be on the lookout for something used. price range $600-800.

  • @Erik0072 For your price range I recommend the Springfield Mil-Spec 1911A1, Colt Series 80 1991 Model, Ruger SR1911, Remington's 1911, and Sig Saurer's 1911's.

  • @Erik0072 look at some rock island armory 1911s they make the frames for STI and they seem to be quite nice

  • I'm wondering if you can get your hands on a CZ75. I've heard a lot of great things about them, even a few comparisons to the venerable 1911s.

  • ati 5870x2 $1280

  • Haha!!! Im loving the tee shirt thats my hometown!!! K.C.M.O. VIDS ALWAYS GREAT!!!

  • 1911's are like the Harley Davidsons of pistols! You have to tune them sometimes.

  • Dear Hickok, I love your videos. But it would be awesome to see you review a 1911 by GSG. I bought one recently and would love to get your opinion on it. Thanks.

  • The taurus pt1911 is made in brazil, maybe u can check that out

  • My rock island shoots low as well. Maybe the sights are all sized for a fullsize gun, and when you shorten the radius up they shoot low? hmm..

  • charles daly, rock island,ATI or what ever else is coming from phillipines is coming from the same company in the phillipines. they are all good guns its not an ed brown or a kinber, les baer, but this gun you dont have to worry about it just keeps shootin.keep making your video i like them:)

  • "Let's try the gong" Ultimate test, i guess

  • "redneck job" LOL

  • big deal I just bought a colt commander lightweight for $ 400 from Cabelas. Better a Good used gun rather than a new so so one

  • "Who ould want one for $200"

    I would.

  • I bought one of these ATI 45's 1911 and I'm totally happy with it's performance. I've shot 400 rounds so far with zero problems. Mine does not shoot low either and it's very accurate. It's a great gun for the price. I like this gun better now than my 9mm.

  • really cool shot at 9:54

  • Full size or commander ati im thinking about getting a 1911 and both the ati's are the same price but i like the beavertail and all on the commander size thats not on the full size one but has anybody else had the problem of shooting low with the commander and would either be a good purchase

  • im pretty sure the proof is in the longevity of each gun. a good rule of thumb is you get what you pay for

  • id pay 800 for that ati 1911 cause it was once owned by you hickok45..

  • Comment removed

  • You got an sti single or double stack?

  • my local FFL has been selling the Rock Island Armory 1911 models like crazy. I fired one and it too fires L-O-W.

I'd prefer to save the extra $400 and get a stripped down Springfield 1911.

  • If 230gr is shooting low I can only amagine 185gr..

  • Are you going to do a follow up with this gun?

  • well for a cheap pistol you sure hit the target a lot.

  • That tree frog I hear between your shots probably thinks a thunderstorm is rolling in. You shoot the inexpensive pistol very well. Please keep your good work up.

    Thank you!

  • as bad as some of these cheep guns reputations can be, alot of them have that reputation undeserved. I heard a story about a mosin nagant out shooting a several thousand dollar ar15 in some tests someone did.

  • @McCarthy331 i agree about the reps and for the record any good bolt action will out shoot an ar plus the mosins are very accurate rifles to begin with its a battle rifle

  • @hopecamel yea you won't hear an argument from me about that, I guess in this case that was a bad argument. But I still find it cool that a rifle designed over 100 years ago can beat one of the most acurate modern (all be it semi auto) rifle designs avalible.

  • you could try getting a taller rear sight that might help

  • Can you please evaluate the Rock Island Armory 1911 A1 pistols and then you will certainly know the difference. Its not the price that makes the difference, its the shooter and the gun. Proudly Philippine made.

  • I've got one of these Philippine 1911's. I let my father, a huge fan of Colt, shoot it. He thought it was a Colt until he saw the logo on the slide. He thinks I'm an idiot.

  • i was looking at a rock island armory 1911 the other week looked ok but i cant say i would spend the money on it, i would rather have a ruger ;P

  • @TheCanuckCowboys It was so cheap I got one just to f*ck around with. And now it's my carry gun LOL.

  • I got a norinco really cheap but spent more than the unit price for gunsmithing.

  • philippine gunsmiths make guns to shoot people with. For a good quality gun for competition, try the STI Spartan.

  • can you do a video on the at1 c45

  • 2500$ is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on one gun I would rather buy 2 or 3 guns and a stock pile of ammo for that amount of money.

  • @mmbabamckee YOU'VE NEVER FIRED AN ED BROWN!

  • @jrljr26 and with a price tag of 2500 id rather live in blissful ignorance :]

  • @mmbabamckee YOU SAID IT.....and you would still have money left over to put into your 401K plan or your kids' college fund.

  • Comment removed

  • @mmbabamckee Go shoot an Ed Brown Cobra Carry and then come come and say the same thing = )

  • @mmbabamckee paying that much gets you a true fit extention of your arm. a machine that is made jus for you. my .02

also..i wouldnt spend that either. id buy the RIA and put maybe $100-200 in it

  • @turboturtle22 That is exactly what I have done with my officers RIA

  • If you ever have $325 laying around and dont know what to do with it, can I suggerst EAA Zastava EZ9 for testing?, thats how much I payed for mine at gunbroker and love it, its a SIG 226 copy and my buddys like it better than their XDM 3.8 and my Beretta PX4...I'd love to see you test that gun :)

  • Hickok, there is a much cheaper version of the 1911 without, allegedly, compromising the quality: the Norinco 1911s. It has a better steel, forged 5100 alloy which is harder than the 4140 steel used in most 1911s. Sadly the US government has banned importation from this Chinese manufacturer. I hope you can make a review of any of their guns, maybe smuggle a piece from Canada or borrow one from those who bought when selling Norincos were still legal.

  • Certainly not smokeless powder is it?!

  • hi mr hickok, pls make review of norinco 1911?thanks

  • well i have one on layaway but it's a military. mine was more but price is more location but then again i'm not sure if the military one is more then the GI i sent $459.99 plus tax and what not. it looks well made and the action isn't bad at all. I've done a lot of looking and haven't seen anything bad about them online also met a guy that has one he said he hasn't had any problems with over 3k rounds though it

  • @hickok45 do you recommend this gun as a first 1911 purchase?

  • hey what holster are you using?

    thanks!

  • the FX45mil is the most basic model of them. then GI and you have the one that's all custom looking the thunderbolt. also like the small one they make the titan. i did a lot of looking into them when i found there was a dealer close hehe.

  • need to make a short slow motion vid with the gong sequence. you could see the round as it was heading toward the target, and maybe from behind the shooter. nice video

  • Hickok have you seen the Umarex R100 Regent 1911? I've heard awesome things about it.

  • I am currently on holidays in the Philippines. I just walked in to Armscor's firing range to shoot this gun (without the ATI - for export etchings. It shoots very well. Trigger is crisp. I started shooting in Switzerland with SIGs and Glocks.. I must say, this gun is not far behind. It is of respectable quality level in finish. Well done.

  • The white soda bottle behind you survived, maybe that one was actually to drink

  • How do the Rock Island Armory 1911's compare to the ATI?

I have a Colt 1911 Gold Cup National Series 80 that was my dad's before he died, so I don't want to use it a ton and wear it out due to sentimental value. But love the feel of the 1911. The local gun store has a Rock Island for sale, brand new about $450 I'm thinking about picking up.

Should I expect a huge difference? I was considering a Glock as well in 9mm, due to prices of ammo.

  • @Kvjavs I had a rock island high cap model, absolute piece of garbage. It wouldn't fire 2 rounds without jamming.I took it back to where I go it and after they inspected it, they said they didn't finish machining the barrel so there really wasn't a feed ramp and it would jam the bullet down in to the shell when it got stuck sideways halfway into the chamber. long story short they took it back and sent it back to where ever it came from and I got something else.

  • @MH496 that's too bad, My RIA never gave me problems.

  • You make this all too easy... I mean this in a good way..

  • check my video man!type apex1911..i bought my new1911apex from shooters arms philippines, this one is stainless..

  • I'm waiting for your next video, let see if that ATI 1911 gun could handle 1000 rounds none stop shooting without any problems with internal parts or any issue like FTF/FTE. Anyway I have rock island armory tactical 1911 gun, i put more than 3500 rounds throught it without any single problem. I use it as home defense gun aside from my mosberg 500 shotgun, S&W 686 magnum revolver, glock23c. I love my rock island gun because it has less recoil & nice piece of gun!

  • @filipinofighter1 the thing is, you could strip the ATI gun all the way to the frame, and use match high quality parts, and build a gun just as good as the Ed Brown model for half the cost...and you could start for $400 dollars and just add a piece at a time, instead of saving up forever for an Ed Brown/Nighthawk model

  • Just purchased today! I really like the looks of the AT 1911! I put about 24 rounds through it. I just need to get used to a .45! Coming up from a Hi Point 9mm. Thanks for the videos Hickok45!

  • @mason0316 Just ordered my ATI FX45 1911 GI today. Looks like a good "beat around" gun. Let me know how yours does.

  • You guys are idiots...He was busy Hickoking Chuck Norris' ass

  • Hickok, what 1911 do you think would be light and concelable enough to carry CC?

  • @DemonicWeapons all of them. It isn't rocket science.

  • @SpartanCombativesGrp Might consider the stature of an individual. A small person might find it awkward trying to carry or conceal a full size. Especially since most of the gun is metal. Personally I'm not a fan of any full size pistol. I have a 4" Kimber and am getting a 3" model in July which will be my carry option for sure. I like small pistols because it's fun thinking of places to hide them. And anyone who says small 1911 models are a waste is most likely arrogant and/or bullheaded.

  • @Noremorse10 The 1911 is one of the easiest pistols out there to carry concealed. I teach tactics for a living and have worked in an armed profession as military and civilian since late 1980's. As far as you comment about 3 inch/ officer models, they are FAR more prone to malfunctions than the government and commander sized weapons, due to the original design not being for a three inch barrel/slide.

  • Hickok something appears to be missing today, oh I see where's your glock hat today?

  • Kansas City MO is where im from WHOO lol

  • Kansas city mo!? woo!

  • I dont know to much about the 1911, GI VS Commander is just length?

  • Comment removed

  • Finally an established reviewer gets their paws on the Rock Island! These 1911s are absolutely perfect for a new shooter or a cheap platform to build on! Forged quality steel for cheap..double stacked models too!!

  • Great Video hickock

  • really like that kansas city t-shirt

  • I still believe they should have sent Hickok in to get Bin Laden. There was no need to send in the seals. Lol

  • Ok... so I bought the 3inch model 2 months ago. Same reason as you. Two boxes of .45 later the barrel bushing started to curl from what I can tell a weak stock spring. The rep told the guys at my gun shop that i must have used a screwdriver to pry it open and that I didnt know how to dis-assemble a 1911. They assured him as an owner of a Les Baer and a couple of Kimbers that I knew what I was doing and that THEY needed to make things right. The gun was sent in 2 weeks ago and still no word.

  • Do a Springfield Armory 1911 operator review!

  • @ihateclubpenguin That would be great!

  • Did I see the bullet head hitting the Gong at 9:56?

I think that Shooter makes cheap good guns.

    Good one sir!

  • Man, might i say that you are a marksman

  • Nothing wrong with getting free ammo Hickok!! I was wondering when reloading would become more time consuming for you.

  • @HeroCasey if i remember correctly they asked him last year ish? but they couldn't work it out.

  • humble question: how do you put the slide back in a locked position without firing the gun?

  • @KhaosTy It's called a "Slide Lock" it's on the left hand side of the slide, same piece that allows the slide to slam forward after loading it.

  • @KhaosTy first completely unload the weapon by removing the magazine by pressing the magazine release button/lever then pull back on the slide rapidly to eject any rounds you may have chambered. Once you know the weapon is unloaded pull back the slide all the way and while holding the slide pulled back use the opposite hand to push up the slide release lever. While pushing up the slide release lever slowly let the slide move forward till the lever catches the slide. Then it will be locked

  • @KhaosTy i'm not positive... i dont own any handguns nor have i shot very many because i am not old enough to buy one yet... but im pretty sure you just pull the slide back and push the slide release lever up... im sure you probably know what that is but if not it is the lever just above the trigger... if you pause the video at 2:25 you will see what i am talking about... hope i helped lol :)

  • You can see the bullet in midair when you hit the gong the second time

  • Wow! someone is wearing a Kansas City shirt ! I guess your wife must be doing all your laundry. Just kidding, I'm from Kansas City and found it very cool that you are humble enough to wear our name. Awesome vid! Keep up the good work. This year is the year to buy a 1911 and I really appreciate your reviews(especially the ruger sr1911). The only problem is that 45-70 guide gun looks cooler than any 1911 I've seen so far.

  • One of the main reasons the Filipino guns are so cheap is the cheap cost of labor. Min wage there is only something like 8ish a DAY. IT professionals, with degrees might make as much as $2000 a month at near the top. If these were made in the US with equivalent parts and fitting the price would easily be $300 more I'm sure.

  • Hickok has not posted a new video in a while. He must have been with seal team 6 taking care of business.

  • @ratm2112 No, he was in his solo recon team, high up in a mountain somewhere and as the SEAL's pulled the trigger Hickok figured the trajectory of the bullet and pistoled Bin Laden from over 800yrds away! ;)

  • @ratm2112 You watch too much TV. Team six hasn't existed since 1987

  • @tactical2bagpipes Just a joke my friend .

  • Comment removed

  • used the discount for 1000rds of 9mm.. thanks..

  • I know you like .45 ACP a lot but how do you feel about .38 Super in say a 1911?

  • @buttnut1080 I'd like to know Hickok's reply on this one... I personally like the .38 Super 1911A1's !!

  • It reminds me of the old Norinco 1911's that used be be imported in the early 90's. Lots of customizers scooped them up and made pretty nice guns out of them. Sounds like alot of folks will pick them up, and even if you put a bunch of custom work into it, you will have a nice 1911 for alot less than a new big name brand.

  • agreed

  • I haven't shot the ATI, but I have owned a RIA 1911 for about three years. I have put around 1,000 rounds of cheap surplus ammo through it. In all that shooting what few failures I have had were mag problems. My RIA is the basic GI offering. Those tiny sights are a trick but groups well. I would take it over the Taurus millinium pro .40 or the 24/7 pro 9mm I just baught. Talk about hard to hit with!

  • This is fantastic. I've been watching Hickcock for months now and I always wished he'd do a gun from here. :D

  • just a request.... im hoping you could cover the sig p228

  • dance piggy dance!!!

  • And now there are 1911s from Turkey!!!!

Setting up a deal for a lightly used one and it might get here soon.

  • Bummer there's no 10mm ammo available. Fun video as usual!

  • Hickok 45 any chance of doing a test on a Steyr pistol?

Love your channel......one of the best by far.

  • I have had a RIA G.I 1911 for a couple of years and love mine.

  • got a new cam ?

  • @Hickok45 you know I was joking! Thanks again for the hookup! How long will this promo last?

  • nice job your the best

  • ★★★★★

  • @tenthousandfists23 springfield armory

  • @tenthousandfists23 listen to his vlogs.

  • I had an RIA Compact 1911 that was nothing but headaches, which is strange because I'd heard great things. I sent it in once to Armscor to get it fixed, and it came back worse than it had been.

  • @scape05 Thank you for the reply.

  • @scape05 That's from the brand Sellier & Bellot ? If so, how good is that ammo. I thinking about buying a 1,000 myself.

  • Is it just me or does it look like you can see a bullet for a frame when he is shooting the gong?

  • Man, I can't wait for the zombie apocalypse so hicock45 can seriously kick some zombie butt!
