@goldensolder44 Yeah, you're a lot closer to the actual release date on this one! I graduated in '82, and was already real familiar with this album by then!
I remember a BBC radio programme called Star Special from 1980/81 in which Frank Zappa played his favourite tracks...This was one of them...He recommended they cover 'Last Train To Clarkesville' by the Monkees. I think the Lizard's would have made a brilliant version of it.
Who the hell does this sound like from the 80s? Damn.. my memory sucks. I know the song obviously.. it's a cover. But do they sing another song with that style? I don't remember the name of this. But i know a song with the same style of singing but can't remember it. is this really a 70s band. seems like something recorded off of a chat site of someone goofing around.
Great! What a blast from the past! 1979, second year of college, I was the only person who knew of these guys! They continue to make me smile. Thanks for posting this.
First heard this around '78. sat in the backroom trying to be amourous with my girlfriend when this came on the radio. I couldn't stop laughing at the sheer audacity of it. I've been hookd on The Flying Lizards ever since. Brilliant.
summer of 09? This sounds l.ike something from 1979. Flying Lizards must be that good

you are probably thinking of the "Flying Lizards" version of Money which I believe was their only recording that had any real success...
