I've seen hundreds of bands, big and small, but these are my all-time favourites. Saw them several times in London, and they blew me away each time. Their albums are all great too.
@MrJeremySF Iw as there too!! my friend and i were like Make-up heads. we lived near chicago, and would always go see all their shows in WI, MO, IN. that madison show is where i made a kick ass roll of film of the band backstage. Ian was 'modeling' shoes for the camera.
this video is the perfect example of how they were live. ian has so much energy at this show (not that he didn't at other shows). this is A SHOW. love it. miss these guys. thanks for posting.
this is so great - brings tears to my eyes - everyone has their influences - i've read that make up is an extended mission of burma new nails - whatever - they got it - they are in the moment - electrifying the space around them building sonic architecture - it's us poor folks can do....
Yeah Malinky, you're right, he's obviously copped some moves from Rob Tyner. Looks pretty goshdarn exciting though! Wish I'd seen them live whilst they still existed.
8.13 onwards!

So great. I saw them at an Elk's Lodge in Madison, WI. They played until the amp broke. Still have the poster.

I was at this show! Bratmobile opened. Was in DC in 1999 or something.

Couldn't agree more. This is what it means to be a frontman.
