  • But why do I have to pay $10,000? It would be cheaper just to move to another state.

  • @wayofthewaffle For a lot of people it is not so simple to "pick up and move somewhere else."

  • This is indeed a very elegant solution to a simple problem. But there is a more pratical problem related to the 416 Barret.... Ammunition! It is expensive and scarce. And if you're considering about reloading this cartridge the selection of components (mainly cases and bullets) is essentially none.

  • @dmess9r

It will only be a matter of time before those A-holes Democrates in Sacramento discover the error in their difinition of "Detachable magazine" and amend the law by removing "the magazine cannot be removed without a tool or instrument" part of the definition.

  • barrett firearms realy tries to help people

making barrett guns in calibers smaller then .50 but making them still being awsome shit, and now this

  • I don't get the point of this, how would a removable magazine prevent some one from owning it

  • @diablophantom answer: california. enough said.

  • ........... is that not a magazine that's being detached? just with more hassle?

i consider a gun like an sks or mosin nagant having a non-detachable magazine. this, has just a more-difficult-to-remove magazine.

  • @leeknivek well I suppose you could detach the mag in a mosin nagant with a number of tools (screwdrivers etc?)... barrett is just making the removal process 10x easier

  • @PetrolDemon yes, you could but it's an internal box magazine built into the rifle. like an SKS, m1 garand, c-96 broomhandle, etc. technically i'm sure all of their magazines could be removed, not that it would be practical at all. i thought this 82a1 was going to be something like that, fed with stripper clips or something to that effect. it's just the same as a regular barrett .... but with a magazine that's more difficult to remove, so they can go through some loophole to make it legal.

  • @leeknivek exactly my point. an elegant way of solving a small problem

  • @PetrolDemon haha as i was reading that i heard him say the same exact thing...

  • @leeknivek lol that wasn't intentional xD

  • now i hope for an barrett m107a1cq .416 barrett

  • Ronnie Barrett for President!

  • The whole pistol grip= fixed magazine thing is just rediculous. I bet i can shoot and reload my garand with 40 shots faster than someone using a ar15 with a mag release button. But it was a wise decision for barrett to make variants for those who live in Cali and the other states

  • please excuse my ignorance...but why is the non-detachable magazine obviously being detached?

  • @monkeysize well under ignorant firearm laws a non detachable magazine is one that is fixed into the weapon and can only be removed by a tool or disassembling the weapon.

  • @DemonReaver117 Makes sense I guess.

  • All the laws that our damn state legislature makes for us we will find ways around.

  • What I don't understand is why would people in California need a semi-automatic high-caliber rifle?

Wait, I forgot it's California. Nevermind.

  • hahahah nice way to get around it being "non- detachable" just put the mag catch release somewhere else :P

  • Pretty cool that the best gun maker in America thinks about us Cal gun owners.

  • i dont understand y u wud need an non-detachable magazine??

  • @QRNPTBUZ CA gun laws. any rifle with a pistol grip and a detachible magazine(ar-15,ak-47,ka-74,etc ) are illegal. because it's a non detachable/fixed magazine you get around it. and 50BMG guns and ammo are also outlawed. oh, no firearms of any kind can have a magazine capacity exceeding 10 rounds.

  • yes yes california legal !!!! :)

  • ./droool i want one so bad!!!!!

  • want

  • can the barrett m82a1 come in a 5 round mag?

  • How is that not a detachable magazine? Is it some sort of technicality thing since it requires a 'tool' to remove? Either way, it's cool that they're looking out for the oppressed gun owners.

  • @noob5000000 has to do with a law that states you cannot have certain magazines that are removable without the aid of an external tool

  • @noob5000000 This just shows you how stupid the gun control people are, not thinking about something as simple as this that isn't a gigantic hassle to gun owners in harsh states.

  • they should do this for the .50 caliber

  • barrett is a true american company

  • Fantastic! Thank you Barrett for looking out for us law abiding gun owners in California!

  • @spectre143 Now if only i could afford one :D

  • @spectre143 OOOOhhhhhhh, I now see why you came out with a non-detachable mag...I forgot about gun laws in other states

  • @Sonnedude i think you meant to say gay laws in other states. its ok, we all make typos sometimes.

  • @Ronald3570 that's a better way to put it

  • @spectre143 But it's still a .50 so not legal. Bummer for us californians.

  • @Roflzmahwoflz no this one is Cali legal for u guys. its not .50, its .416

  • @mastercfromhalo3 Yes I know this model is .416, but the standard 82 in .50BMG is not legal.

  • @mastercfromhalo3 There is also a modification for .510 DTC which was designed in France for countries that have the .50 BMG banned for civilian use, the case is 2mm shorter then the .50 BMG, but the bullet is the same size making it legal.

  • awesome!
