Not quite sure why you swatch the colors if you are applying them. We apply makeup to our faces so us seeing it on your face is better than swatches on your hand.

The maybelline quads are not discontinued they just have new packaging..I seen them at my walmart..the colors are still the same but they divided the 4 colors weird ..if you know what I mean but heart I loved the tutorial =D
