the only thing about linux is that there's like a zillion different versions and not alot of things are compatible with it and there's just no control. BUT i really think its a breeding ground for ideas though. so many innovations are made on linux because its an open source type of thing. i think alot of innovation employed in both windows and mac os x stems from unpattented innovations in linux. but its just too messy. os x and windows have final public copies that make for steady computing.

This is called GUI "Graphical User Interface"

It's separate than the main OS "Operating System" in Linux.

Now what you see here is done on Linux machine with KDE as GUI and an application called Beryl or Compiz/Compiz Fusion for effects.

KDE project is aiming toward importing KDE's applications on Windows, note that it's still in progress at this time.

Search for "KDE on Windows" if you are interested ;)

You never know, you might be able to do so in future.

You can always double boot. When you feel like playing, boot up windows. For the rest, try pclinuxos.

PCLinuxOS is an operating system, as is Windows XP, and are typically both run by a PC. A Macintosh (Mac) is an Apple computer, which typically runs the OS X operating system. Now, if you were referring to Beryl, which is what was causing the "bending" visual effects in that video, then yes... it is just for Linux (for now).

there's too many versions of linux. I would use it if it wasn't so hard to choose a version of linux to use. i mean, you use one then there's a better one. you use that, and oh wait it's not as good as people said. so you use an even better one, but wait that one isn't the best either, there is one that is better, but then that one doesnt feel right. and on and on until you end up nowhere.

Linux is incredible...but there's a small problem, I have to use Vista for example because I play games on my PC...not a total PC gamer but I play quite a few demanding games...and there's also the software incompatibility as usual because of Linux not being so popular you know...

you can emulate windows on linux just find a virtual machine and actually mac os x paralels 3.0 has graphic support so now you can play video games from WINDOWS CRAP P ON MAC the video is here in youtube just type mac os x

Yes you can with either Gaim or kapote or pidgeon in linux. Unless windows live messenger is not the same as the msn messenger. But if it is the same then you can sighn in and start messaging right away. The vast majority of Linux distros include a very capable IM program. You can even test this program in windows to make sure it works before you switch to a Linux system. Its called pidgin. Try it out! even if you hate linux try the program! Open source rocks the computer world!!
