These videos will be priceless someday. There was no such way to take videos when I was at Fort Sill in 1986. The most I got from basic was 3 polaroid pictures and a yearbook (mosly just grainy black and white photos)
Your son and all his army buddies will love these videos 20 years from now. Does he send them home to you and then you decide which ones to post on YouTube?
Anyway, thanks for sharing. I enjoy watching them...reminds me of all the good times I had in the army.
Thank you for the good comments..!! When he came home from Fort Sill, he transfered all the videos on my hard drive and I've been going through them and deciding what to post. He's only been in Korea for a few weeks now, so I'm not sure when he is going to send any more of them to me. The only one's I have are from AIT.
You are right, the Army never let any soldiers have things like video cameras and other electronics during training before, but now the soldiers are allowed to bring their cell phones, too. My son called me from his phone on the 2nd Sunday, during BCT. The Army is becoming a bit more lenient.
down time and phones? Yeah this defiantly isn't the INFANTRY
