The nicest part of Toronto are the Toronto Islands and Leslie Street Spit (aka Tommy Thompson Park). Lots of room to stretch and relax. Beaches and greenery.

Go travel to London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Rome, Salzburg, Geneva, Sydney, Vancouver, Chicago, and you will think twice before you say Toronto is the Best....Not even close. I mean aside from the Traffic,Taxes, TRAFFIC, Sports teams, Immigrants,Real Estate Prices, Homeless people every where, no Water front(aside from the Beaches), Lack of much Architecture, and Greasy Gino's from the 905 who come down here every weekend for the entertainment district. Ive been to Toronto once when I was a child. I remember we went up in that needle tower . I was scared I would fall. I seen the stadium the blue jays played in. the biggest memory I have and still talk about (keep in mind I was 5) me and my aunt were going in the hard rock cafe right. And the doors to get in were the ones that spin in a circle, well someone was going in the door and i tried going in behind him and i got my head stuck in the door. the guy was pushing but the door wasnt moving

LA has a huge urban sprawl problem, everyone drives a lot, and therefore it has a big air pollution problem. much bigger than toronto's. Toronto is also greener, more vegitation. But LA has better beaches. So it depends on what you like.

As for winter, haha we have the underground city (ok, not as big as Montreal's) thank God, cuz try a winter in a place like Rochester or Buffalo, NY where you can't escape underground. Still, the PATH gets annoying coz I still get lost in it!

Things can get a bit expensive though just like they are in London at times because it's a large city. I think with any major city if you visit wanting to enjoy yourself you will have a great time.

Congratulations on the 2012 Olympics, it WILL be awesome, don't listen to the self-deprecating British media about costs and crap...I love how they never mention how much it elevates the city's spirits, image and other citys' envy.
