Because he is a sell out and he profits from other artists... 90% of all his work is Google Images with Photoshop apps. He takes a few images and a few words and calls it Art!! Name one poster he didn't rip off from other artists or something under his own work like drawings - You cannot!

I'm not at all interested in him copying other work and calling it art. I'm more interested in him promoting the oppression of government in his earlier work, plus implying defiant graffiti, and then to turn around and promote big government. I wrote an essay about him and his work for art history and he's still a mystery to me.

I agree Neumn13, but when an artist uses someone else art or message. They must give credit to that artist in the description but fail to do so.well it is called plagiarize. This is not Shepard Fairey first time getting called out and getting sued over copyright images.

Wether or not you like his art, or Fairey himself, he's really not trying to be the bad guy. He just wants to express his word. I believe to many people start to like things because they're on TV/Media/News and god awful MTV. People seem to become a sheep that follows an entity without question. i have done my research And as an artist i do think for myself. Im not some random ignorant citizen that follows whats in "the now" to fit in. Im simply saying that Fairey's work has a great impact on people. The people arent concerned about what pictures he used to make his work. That's not important. Leave that to the officials. Its not like he's laughed in peoples faces about using their works. He's actually complimenting them by doign so. Anything after that is up to the original owners.
