how come you didnt showcase the swype keyboard on the galaxy?? that was the selling point for me. best drunk texting phone ever. no need for perfect accuracy, and if anything, its the fastest texting phone. in my opinion i suppose there is now an app you can download for most other phones >.>

It seams that u are using WiFi on both phones is that correct? U mentioned that by default the Evo loads in HQ, but FYI Samsung loads in HQ if using WiFi, This is by default... When watching the video using WiFi hit menu and it will show an option to watch in Normal Quality thus its already playing in HQ.

Overall Samsung rules over HTC :)

The only reason to get an evo is basically for sense. The galaxy is better in almost every way. Especially with that hummingbird processor, super amoled, and better picture quality

I know that this isnt what the video is about but Toggle & Weather is a lot better than Beautiful widgets for weather IMO... That is one place that HTC wins hands down in any VS review. Toggle & Weather is the only app i have paid for on my samsung mesmerize, but it was definitely worth it. ExclusiveAndroidTech made a great video on how to change your weather widget to look almost identical to the HTC weather widget. definitely worth looking at if u want to have the HTC weather widget

my Galaxy S has screen 4 as defualt so i can slide left or right side through the 7 screens an my youtube comes up as HQ automaticly once i've hit the HQ button on one vid all the rest keep it on you just didn't spend enough time on the Galaxy S to see this things...

Just a correction, Over Wi-fi the galaxy automatically plays videos in HQ.

The actual button is not there but if you press menu you can see that it is actually playing in HQ.

Which skin do you think is better? touch wiz or htc sense? my dad owns an evo 4g and i think that sense is amazing which is the only thing stopping me from getting an a galaxy s device. i just want to know if touch wiz is as customizable as htc sense.

It actually looks like the keyboards are roughly the same sizes. The EVO has the 4 directional keys on the bottom. Granted, the evo's keys are side by side, whereas the Galaxy S has some gap in between them.

Jeff i noticed in your Software Part 1 video. You commented, and we saw that flash didnt load on Galaxy S. Although on second video flash did appearently load. see marker 6:45. Hummm... maybe it just took a while???... I went to look at Galaxy S in T-Mobile today. Phone is superfast and screen looks awsome. I looked at parts of Avatar movie on phone. Avatar characters had this pastey/cartoony look to them but everything else looked great. I GOTTA have internet tethering to get this phone.

@angel2901 The main homescreen for HTC EVO is in the middle therefore, from the start, you can either scroll left or right. for the Galaxy S the main screen is the first page, like an iPod touch or iPhone.

Excellent review man! I was looking at getting the samsung captivate or evo 4g. All around I like the evo better but the screen is so much better on the samsung. It's hard to pick a winner. You get more for the money with the evo with bigger screen, camera flash and front facing camera. But that screen on the samsung is hard to pass up.

@lorenzofearon1 Actually, I love my EVO. These video were designed to showcase mainly the Samsung Galaxy S. Thus, I did not detail every exact aspect of the HTC EVO as Brandon previously has in his EVO seriies of videos.
