It's great to see innovative thinking like this, it's what the kinect's been lacking.
I'd love to see an explorable, open world game to come out for Kinect - with the kind of freeform setup you have there, being able to freely move your avatar's body with your own. Imagine the game Oblivion if it had that setup - just rampaging around a town breaking things would be endless entertainment. But I digress. The point is, endless possibilities.
this is the smoothest ive seen the kinect being integrated into a 3d environment, well done. if only microsoft were doing something as amazing as you with the kinect . imagine the power that the 3d camera would have had if they didnt cheap out on the cameras themselves, seeing that they made $100 profit on each unit
it's not a problem of interpolation, but of screencapture framerate! I'll try to get the video from the display in a different way (eg by phone camera instead of video capture) to show it in a smoother way! thanks for the advice

That would be a great invention for second life so that you can walk inside your room but on the pc walking inside a game ;)

you need an interpolate function for the character, it looks kind of choppy otherwise. The work looks great through!
