Whoever says it isn't waterproof is dead wrong, I have one I bought six months ago and I wear it in the shower and while washing dishes and have never had any issues with water
You mention the lightweight factor of the Aerospace. That is definitely a plus. That combined with the flatness of the instrument. Many quality watches, inc. titanium ones, are tall which makes them a bit bothersome with shirt cuffs and snagging in doorways, narrow spaces, etc. So definitely the Aerospace is the best quality watch that ticks all my boxes: attractive, super accurate, titanium, multi-functional, dual timezone feature, and comfort.
One more thing: there is a format of watch that is extremely rare to come by, and for which Breitling could fill the gap: a superquartz titanium GMT with the additional GMT hour hand. There is the Colt GMT, but it is available only in blingy polished stainless steel, and only as Automatic. I'd much prefer a lightweight Colt GMT in titanium with superquartz. Are you listening Breitling Co.? ;-)
@NiallatUTube I think you'll be hard pressed a superquartz with two hour hands and all the functions above. I have not seen one like this... typically one would just use the second time zone on the LCD screen.
@breitlingsource - I was more hinting at the idea of a version of the Colt GMT with superquartz, in titanium, and only slightly less flat having a deeper WR. I think that would be seller.
@NiallatUTube Possibly... but the price would have to be right. Making the Colt in Titanium would make the price considerably higher. The new colt line has just been completely redesigned... and not in a good way.
@NiallatUTube Well.. no I don't think you understand what I mean by "I have not seen one like this..".. I am referring to the base ETA thermal compensated quartz movements that they use in the quartz watches. I have not seen one with a GMT hand, which means that it might not even be possible to do it economically.
@breitlingsource try to look at my point this way then: there are quartz watches out there with a GMT hand in addition to the hr and min hands. Therefore, it cannot be rocket science to produce a super quartz watch with a GMT hand. The only reason I can think of why Breitling has not produced such is that it could cannibalise the Colt GMT market. But Breitling ought to know by now there are people who would snap up a lightweight Breitling super quartz with a GMT hand in a titanium construction.
@NiallatUTube I see your point of view, perhaps Breitling just doesn't know their audience well enough then. You're right.. Its not rocket science, its Horology. Perhaps they just don't know the business as well as us Youtubers.
About the waterproofness, I don't think this watch is intended for scuba diving or extended swimming periods. Also some people might have forgotten to ensure the crown is fully pressed in. And on that point, I think Breitling made a design flaw in not having a screw-down larger crown on this watch. Most others do.
@NiallatUTube I don't think it was a design flaw. I think it was intentional designed that way because they felt that the benefits of a screwdown crown would be negated by the constant need to unscrew the crown to change modes due to the way the movement works.
@breitlingsource that did occur to me after I commented. Nevertheless, there is some scope for innovation for a screwdown crown which also permits crown-operated functionality. Breitling has the expertise and resources to do that.
Btw any opinion on what you think the most readable dial colour is? Black?
White looks least readable due to white hands - insufficient contrast.
Update: I sold my Repetition and bought a Chronometre Aerospace with the B75 SuperQuartz. Blue dial and gold features. In fact I think the Aerospace is the only Swiss quartz with COSC certification. And the fact that this IS a GMT watch is not sufficiently marketed by Breitling for some odd reason. One can't tell it's a GMT just by looking at it, since there is no GMT hand nor GMT bezel. I am now saving for another and newer B79 SuperQuartz which I think is the Avantage model, as my dress watch.
the watch is a looker had it for 21 years. Parts are no longer available, repairs extremely expensive now, as the replace teh complete watch innerworks.
the watch is a beauty, but very expensive in maintenance. i have never had the battery replace without them having to replace al lot of other stuff in the watch as well. average of 300 to 500 euro a time. Now the repairs amount to more than buying a new watch. waterproof is redefined by breitling
Talked to a guy who owns them, this watch is NOT waterproof, you can get water inside even washing your hands.Love the design and functionality, but come on a watch for almost 4grand and not waterproof, wtf?
I know what it says on the watch, I've read a tons of reviews saying that there was water damage from swimming and washing hands.
I am not a type of owner who's got like ten pairs of all kind of watches that sit on a shelf, I am gonna abuse them wear them to parties and camping trips and snorkling even though I do have a Gshock that I wear on the jobsite.
I know what it says on the watch.I've read a lot of reviews though that mention water damage from swimming and taking shower.Just want to be certain before spending a few grant.
Hey guys can you tell me if changing time and operating the functions with one crown is really a pain,is it true that this watch is not waterproof and only water resistant?
I really like this model but kind of baffled on making decision to buy them because of all the shitty reviews this watch gets.
Can somebody who actually owned them help me out here?
Swiss made watches will always have their prestige and fine history, but solar-powered quartz is the future, and at the moment nobody is doing it better than Casio & Citizen IMO. When it come to accuracy, function capabilities, power reserve, maintenance, etc. you can't compare. But to each their own, this hobby is just about having fun and buying what you like. Beautiful watch by the way!
Review says the bracelet is Professional -but are you sure? I think the Professional bracelet's links have an offset pattern, whereas the older models have a bracelet such as on the reviewed watch, and on mine. Anyway, again this is the best Titanium quartz watch on the market. It even has a second timezone and is therefore a GMT watch. What more could you want! :-)
It is a Professional II bracelet, now renamed to Professional as the old Professional bracelet that you are saying you have (I assume) are no longer in production. I don't know what watch you have, but this watch has the newest available Professional II bracelet. I'm not sure what you mean by off set links.
My 10 year old Aerospace doesn't have the backlight feature on the new version, and that's good, because a watch of this calibre really shouldn't have a backlight. Using the time beeper in the dark is sufficient for me.
I have this watch, face says REPETITION MINUTES under the BREITLING logo. Mine has gold on the bezel at the 15, 30, 45 and 60 minute locations, gold hands, and gold LED text on a black background.
As the man says, it's a fantastic ultralight and accurate high-end sports watch.
Dude, I really appreciate your willingness to make a review, but it's kinda annoying when we can't see anything at all. For example, how about checking if you are able to see what is going on when you are rotating the controller, from the video? ;-) At least I've seen them now. Thanks anyway.
I can see it.. its a bit hard because the videos get compressed on youtube and stuff, and yes I know my watermark is right on the second LCD, but I only realized that afterwards. And now its too late.. I'm not a professional reviewer don't have CSI: Miami production budgets.. just a guy reviewing his watches.
How about describing the actual functions on the watch and their correct uses...???
The watch is light, as it is to be unobtrusive in a cockpit of an airplane or helicopter.
The "cool" back as you say are quick conversion rates. The quartz movement is used as it is much more accurate than the automatic, precision again needed in aviation.
I really wish you would do a thorough review of these great watches, and not just a "Paris Hilton" version of what's "cool" or "hot".
Just think of them as Comedy videos then, mate! The majority of the audience buying these watches are not airplane and helicopter pilots. But hey, like I said.. if if makes you laugh, just consider it comedy :) have a great day!
meh never mind mate i did read the description but that was only after i had posted the comment...i guess from now on i will be reading the description first :P
anyway again thx for those videos and keep up the good work

Was this the Aerospace model you sold online on the forum of Breitlingsource in 2007, or is this the newer model?

Not very many quartz watches are as accurate as one with an EM Microelectronic-Marin module and the highest grade Oscilloquartz crystal.
