@quicktolisten Freakin classic.........Tip came in, listened to the "A" section a few times, grabbed a pencil & a note pad.............smh............bout 30-45 minutes later, if that long, he went out to the mic......nailed it! everyone in the control room was just had that Huge Kool-Aide smile!! So many ridiculous moments during this session, can't believe we didn't take rolls & rolls of pictures & hours of video footage.........too many memories!!

@gooseinfog Roy Hargrove produced the whole record.. And yes Gene Lake..!! he's absolutely killing on this track.. And that's Meshell Ndegeocello on bass... My favorite track on that record..
@gooseinfog Grove( Roy ) produced it. the beat/bass line/melody line, under Tips rap is all Roy, he had it all programmed, they just put their thang on it! Then Roy just let Gene loose after the 'A' section, it's still Roy though, he sings drum n bass/JB beats all the time, Gene just put his vibe on it, & killed it, 1 take, if I'm not mistaken!! Tip came in later, as did Badu! I'm so glad that people are still checking for this record.... means so much, thank y'all, God Bless! Peace..
Sorry for barging in on all y'alls comments & thangs.....it's just that, a lot of life long friendships, on & off stage were formed because of this project! Tx & NYC literally became "ONE" Lolol....we still talk about this session like it was yesterday, it's so special 2 us. I have followed Roy's career from his first album but like you said there was just "something" about the cuts from this CD that grab you and don't let go.
