Wait, I remember this from NatLamp in the 70s...part of the point to it being a Time Distortion trick was Cheech saying something like "note how the pain in yer balls makes every second seem like an eternity..." And I had a friend who actually WAS a Punkerpan Bi-Pod model 1927...note the devastatingly chic, 9mm air-cooled helmet.

this episode was my all-time favorite back when it was pen and ink. (Yep i'm an old fart.) I pointed to it from the Jesus Seminar forum to offer it as insightful commentary on how Jesus sometimes taught, "getting it" a whole lot better than churchmen.

Also , there should be a much longer 'hold' at the point of contact between foot and nutsack. Let the foot hold him up in the air a second so we can really see the lizard's eyes bulging out.

Absolutely terrific animation, more please. Bode designed the characters to work in full rotation, so it's cool to see them in 3-D.

But Cheech should sound like Jack Nicholson, or maybe Joe Pesci.

yes, this was test that was done for free by Nigel Hendrickson in NYC. he did it as a fan would do a homage. he contacted me to get my blessings and just for fun i did the voices and music to complete the test. Vaughn did live readings of cheech and the lizard and are near exact to how i did the voices here. Yes we need to do cheech in traditional animation and not computer. Im working with Adult swim and warner brothers animation to do it right in the long run, Mark Bode

I have always loved Cheech Wizard all the way back to when he was in National Lampoon. I have managed to get a few of the comic books too. I read somewhere where Puma mad shoes and hoodies with Cheech on it as well. Molly and Mark I would love to talk to you.

Mark Bode cont. i had a possible deal with The Cartoon Network for a traditionally animated cheech but they dropped the ball for the new star wars animated series, or so i assume thats what they dropped it for. Cheech will be done right probably after the Cobalt 60 movie from Universal comes out in 2011. as that movie should be zacks next hit after Watchmen ..Cheech, Cobalt and Chaboocheck are the only properties i think should

It would be great to see Cheech traditionally animated, right down to Vaughns bright colors and brilliant backgrounds, I can't wait for the Cobalt 60 film. You may not relise this but I feel deeply honored to speak to the son of Vaughn, I never knew Vaughn as he was before my time but I sure as heck would've love to meet him.

This is Mark Bode here, i see there is alot of reaction to this short. it was done buy a computer artists in his spare time for free and wasnt intended as the way i wanted cheech to appear. I always wanted cheech traditionally animated and the voices were taken directly from my fathers live readings of his cheech strips, so those are the voices he wanted for the characters. Cobalt 60 is going to be a live action film starting this year to be directed by Zack Snyder. Ive taken Bode to a new relm

i m a huge fan of bode since 20 years now (i m 32) in france it wasn t easy to find some comics...i respect the work of mark bode and the integrity he shows to his father s work, but this video is a nice tribute but the quality of the direction the artistic work the animation is really cheap...i agree with 111noir2000...total liberty has a price, the lack of possibility, pixar would surely denaturate bode's work but the result would be visually much more successfull...peace, vb inspired me a lot

I respect VB and his work and Mark and his stuff too, but that does'nt mean I'll blindly fall in line with accolades and praise just because he is who he is and is as talented as he is...a true fan and lover of the work will be honest, not just say what you want to hear or what that fan thinks you want to hear...not bad, but just keep working on it...
