You need a good graphics card so you can play on Ultra High Settings.

You need good resolution in the game. You can use a command line switch on alot of games to adjust this. The higher the better.

Play around with Fraps settings and the program you use to edit the capture so there is mininal quality loss. (different encoders and bit rates, etc). If your in a dark place in the game. Turn up the brightness contrast so you can see a bit better.
