I worked at walmart for almost 10years - walmart makes you work overtime then refuses to pay you for your work by making you either come in later or take a longer lunch-they won't hire enough people so you have to work your department ontop of 2 more then they complain because your works not getting done & try to fire you for low Productivity-I finally quit & when I tried to get my job back they refused but hire people back who have been charged felonies for stealing money out of registers

On the night shift, we were told that we had to stock multiple departments, no matter how much freight we got in. Most nights there was only one person per department. Cashiers were taken from the front. Even on an 8000 piece night, ALL the freight had to be done or people were wrote up and given a decision day.

I worked for wal-mart for 4 months in 2006. I hated everyday of it! A .10 raise is bullshit for an entire year of work! When I fired myself, I had no income, but I felt free. I knew that if I could work there under those circumstances, I could go on to do bigger and better things. Wal-mart taught me how to read between the lines. Certain people get raises and promotions and certain people get screwed and remain at the bottom!

I worked for Wal-Mart for four years. I was proud of my work. They screwed us hard, and it was difficult. A lot of us lost our health insurance in the last switch they made, as we simply could no longer afford it. I was one of the many not awarded a pay increase when the cost of living went up, as someone (Management would not say who) decided that we did not need it. I personally heard management target people who were making too much so they could replace at minimum wage.

I was fired for working late after management begged me to stay. A girl in electronics was fired for expressing positive opinions about unions in front of a manager. Rewards to associates for low accident rates were given only during first shift. Our store manager was still under investigation for three sexual harassment suits, but allowed to keep his position. I never had a fifteen minute break until my third year, and only half hour lunches for eight to nine hour shifts.

The following store manager was fired for fixing numbers to increase his own bonus. This took money from us which was never restored. When we were shorted on that bonus, management insisted that it was because sales and customer satisfaction were down, contrary to stat charts.
