  • What a great song.

  • I like this band very much. Technical stuff but not losing themselves to it. Kinda like Decapitated (in that sense, not musically).

  • really cool.the first technical death metal song i really enjoyed. (im more melodic death and symphonic death fan) any more similar bands?

  • @insioni Odious Mortem or newer Severed Savior.

  • @insioni Obscura is really good

  • @rredzone True dat

  • @insioni Augury, Martyr, Ishahn

  • @insioni I woul recommand the german band "Obscura" and "the faceless"

  • I remember seeeing these guys live and then chilling with bill after their set, he's a nice fucker

  • I was unaware good metal required being "brutal".

  • 1:57 the most epic part i've ever heard in a brutal death metal song. if anyone has listened to this kind of sickness please contact me

  • @Murtax94 I agree with you!

  • @alemutasa Thank you sir, you are very kind :)

  • Relax Bill sayed they are gunna get brutal again

  • I just came from a video where slipknot was the backing music... must... purge... ears... with real metal.

  • someone please... for the love of satan.... tab this song out!!!!!

  • @XxTriViuMfan98xX Learn by ear hmya

  • its nice to see avril lavigne playing bass for yet another amazing death metal band

  • @TheSonsofHorusx ಠ_ಠ

  • Even though it is brutal in its own unique way, i'll take talent, technicality and melody over "brutal" any day of the week.

  • Ahhhh yes. The moment when a band defies all catergorizations thus rendering itself - "LEGENDARY."

  • lawl

  • wtf this sucks. it doesnt even have breakdowns to mosh to!?!! what talentless fags!

  • @Tyler4981 lolololololololololol

  • @Tyler4981 maaaaannnn.

    i hope you're trolling.

  • 5:37. Best solo. evar.

  • tesla coil is a earth quake machine in the early 1900s made a small earthquake in new york government confiscated it ritr rite rite

  • HORNS UP FOR THE RELEASE OF POLARITY!!!!!!

  • Absolutely incredible. Techno-death is so special

  • Decrepit Birth developed a lot. I have their first album and I found it epic, but the new one is fuckin' far above. I love it

  • A Tesla coil is a type of transformer circuit that produces high voltage, low current, high frequency AC electricity. It was used by Nikola Tesla to perform various innovative experiments, but isn't used much today other than entertainment.

  • @Purkinje90 have u ever heard of a "Tesla Scope" ? apparently Tesla used to communicate with ETs. He also invented HAARP which is now being used to control the weather.

  • @groovass65 I've heard of those. I've heard of the IRI they use in HAARP, but I haven't heard of any breakthroughs coming from that research. I'm still very interested in it though. The weather is one of those areas of science we are still very much in the dark on.

  • the genre doesn't mind, dude!

the question is the music, and i have to say that this band is fucking awesome!

    I love this stuff!

My congratulations to the band, they are great musicians!

    greetings from argentina

  • This song has been playing for the past 12893 minutes it feels like.

But my fucking god...Best 12893 minutes EVER.

  • @yokiddingme Sadly, the main group of scene kids from around where I live have begun "listening" to Meshuggah. I put listening in inverted commas because, well, scene kids are wannabes.

  • @SperMSoldieR103 It's quite obvious when someone "listens" to Meshuggah and when one really listens to Meshuggah.

  • i want to have babies with this song

  • I think its that I'm not sure??

  • Isn't it a electricity amplifyer by like 100

  • Who here actually knows what there talking about and what a tesla coil is

  • @NaKALENiSUKA1 Tesla is a dude that has something to do with electricity and a Tesla coil is a weapon used by the russians in Red Alert 2. But mr. Tesla invented something that when you have two metal balls standing in a room and they are loaded with electricity and you stand between them than you don't die or something... Hard to explain. Google it, might help...

  • @NaKALENiSUKA1 its about their vocalists dad who passed away, he explained it in a decibel magazine once. just search decibel polarity interview, i think it was a cover story

  • @bschierloh guitarist's dad (matt)

  • reminds me of fallout 3

  • Nice

  • this video is like a breeding ground for trolls.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TAB THIS LIFE!!

  • Askredead - your a complete fucking moron... Try and fucking follow these verses and please just name one time they copy a riff you fucking newb

  • @rianaro lol troo

  • dude's are obviously talented - if only they could just stop playing the same fucking riffs every fucking song. literally every song on this album recycles the same riffs over and over. they just repeat ideas over and over. and over. see what i did there? i think i should join this band

  • you guys are all retarded i own this album. this is a shit quality version of this you dumb fucks buy the shit and youll understand decrepit birth kills all you pussy ass faggots eat shit

  • All the kiddies eat this Death / Cynic ripoff shit up. This shit isn't brutal, and obviously neither is the band anymore.

  • @Shaxuul

you can shaxuul my asshole nigga this shit is awesome and decrepit birth would impregnate your whole fucking family tree if you talked shit to their faces. oh and fuck your whore mom i got herpes from her.

    \

    decrepit birth pwns lesser beings

  • @Shaxuul Who cares if it's as "br00tal" as their other stuff? They've matured and I personally enjoy their new release even more than their earlier shit (not that any of that's bad either). Extremely technical and creative.

  • @Shaxuul not even decent attempt at trolling...next time try harder kido...

  • guys i don't get it, i listen to decrepit birth, cannibal corpse, suffocation, necrophagist, dying fetus, mortician, all that good shit, but i still like meshuggah. i don't think they are really scene or whatever i just think that they are more based on rhythm than technical riffing. could someone elaborate what makes them scene? or just tell me if i'm misunderstanding things here?

  • Meshuggah is terrible, there's no comparison, end.

  • @HousingThePlagued meshuggah is more based on polyrhythms than technical riffs and stuff so comparing the two is a bit unfair. but if i had my pick i would go with the ladder and not meshuggah.

  • @SirBaga Meshuggah is a piss poor excuse for a band, and yes I see sceneore kids like them. GTFO of this fucking song.

  • @Brandonlym scene kids like sikth and periphery not meshuggah

  • @yokiddingme Periphery arent scene dude. Incredible talented band.

  • @yokiddingme periphery are one of my favorite bands...misha and matt halpern are two of the bet iv heard. im just saying scene kids are more likely to like them then meshuggah

  • @yokiddingme no, scene kids like drop dead gorgous and devil wears prada.

  • @CrackedStyle there is no rules. im not scene and i like new tdwp. scene kids even listen to db sometimes

  • the intro of the song is pretty awesome! i can listen it 10000 times

  • these guys blow my mind every time i listen to them.. best metal band ever!

  • Metalgasm: A metal orgasm; see this song

  • These guys are one of the best bands I have ever seen live, unbelievable musicians.

Also to all the no talent elitists who can't play music but somehow think anyone will care what they say fuck off please

these guys are brilliant and as long as they spend good time and effort I could care less what genre it is leaning towards

  • @skipalux word

  • mmmmm tasty song.

  • I actually like it very nice.

  • The fucking opening gives me chills

  • this song is as good as a quarter pound Hershey's candy bar

  • this song is as good as a quarter pound hershey's candy bar

  • This song is so epic

  • ANATA

  • All of the meshuggah song have the typical 7 string riffs. They go like prmpmm prmpmm pm prm pmmm prmprm prmmprm.

So in english they sucjk ass and gets boring after 5 secs.

Decrepit Birth have the most melodic and progressive sound out of every technical band. Their songs never gets old.

  • @S3hnsuch7 A. Think of Meshuggah as a percussive band and they're easier to listen to

    B. They play 8 strings...

  • @JobForAMaxboy

    7 strings, 8 strings...

They use maybe 3 strings so it doesnt rly matter.

  • @S3hnsuch7 Fredrik uses all the strings in his lead work

  • ehhh...number one, FUCK YOU. number 2, meshuggah kicks ass they are the most original and heavy and metal-as-fuck band in history. number 3, yes fredrik uses all of the strings, however who cares how many strongs they use. you realize that you can play most of the range on a guitar using the bottom 3 strings only right? number 4, yes it does matter; even if they only use 3 strings, it's clearly the 3 BOTTOM strings, so there's a huge difference in sound even between a detuned 7 string and an 8

  • @daltonwatros1 lol they suk

  • @daltonwatros1 Did you just called Mecguggah the "most original and heavy and metal-as-fuck band in history"? Get out of here scene kid.

  • I have seen ten live with suffocation, and abysmal Dawn

  • @Cantoffie Lucky man! how was Suffocation?

  • meshuggah sucks penis knob

  • @Cantoffie see them live

  • @Cantoffie

    fucking right!!!!

  • tahsta tlosoir gosd ddamt cocol:I tried spelling thats so fucking cool but I was headbanging.

  • fucking good stuff!!

  • I think dujl and demonicblessings are gonna end up together in marriage

  • Jesus Christ. I leave for a week and shit evolves into insult hurling. Demonicblessing is a moron. Dujl misses the entire point of the song. The point isn't "innovation" or "experimentation". It's tech death based off of classical phrasing and fucking arranging and technique. With this style of composition Messhuggah style yelling or fucking clean vocals or synth work would sound retarded as fuck, and hokey. Dujl has a right to his opinion that it's boring, whatever. Continued above.

  • @PiercedGenitalia But for what they represent themselves to be, they're fucking amazing. I understand it's not for everyone it's hard to sit through six minutes, but please don't tell me that three note diminished riffs over palm mutes and fucking mud shit distortion with some pinch harmonics thrown in is crafted from genius and this is not. That's a completely misinformed and asinine statement. Contnued again.

  • @PiercedGenitalia I can bet that if I were to replace the guitars/bass with classical strings/wind, turn the drums into tympani and cymbals and then make the nylon string part a flute solo, it'd be hailed as fucking masterful.

  • @PiercedGenitalia agreed!

  • @PiercedGenitalia It already is a masterpiece man.

  • i love the classical side of this song

  • we dislike it cuz u scene fags r lame cant stand the color red

  • Single best band ever of all time.

  • Wow said to see Tesla's name used here. I mean do people even remember what Tesla Coil is anymore? or perhaps who Tesla was and what he did for the 20th Century?

  • If only I could fuck sound.

  • How could anyone say ''their not brutal anymore'' They are still playing some heavy stuff! And their still amazing. Glad to see bands playing what THEY want to play. :]

  • @SeakF2F who the fuck said decrepit birth isn't brutal anymore...I met Derek (the bassist of Suffocation and Decrepit Birth for the less informed) and he said he likes to call it brootiful. Not only is that incredibly nifty and catchy, it is perfect for DB, this song especially.

  • @SeakF2F true dat son

  • @SeakF2F

Another thing worth nothing is that brutality does not necessitate quality.

  • @SeakF2F i liked the first two albums better... you probably just suck. 11 people are stupid for agreeing with your immature thought process. so according to your dumb ass, if i choose to like them better the way they originated, then that makes me illogical because they still do things in a similar manner to how they used to. so, do you think coke zero is better than coca cola? they're making soda the way THEY want to AND it's similar to the original! so i should like it just as much! idiot.

  • @666metalsucks666 Coke Zero sucks ass

  • @666metalsucks666

I stopped reading your reply at i liked the first two albums better. Good for you, glad you enjoyed them. This band is amazing :] More people should get into them. And one more thing, I don't give a fuck about your opinion or what you think. Go talk to someone that gives a shit about what you think. :]

  • @SeakF2F and yet... you still responded. i don't believe you.

  • Saw these guys two days ago. They were sick as hell, and they were touring with the bassist from Suffocation. They were heavy as anything. Such a good show.

  • @daybreakvision That's their original bassist as I've read.

  • Boring.

  • @dujl hey they are not for everyone

  • @kawridr6 True, they're for people who like boring music.

  • @dujl im sorry i fail too see how this is boring this is the most extreme type of music there is and if this doesn't get you going i dont see hpw anything else can

  • @kawridr6 Extreme doesn't equal not boring.

  • @dujl haha alright man have a good one then just wondering what do you consider exciting?

  • @kawridr6 Something other than just high BPM wankery and traditional sounding garbled vocals.

  • @dujl Maybe Tech Death, or Death Metal at all isn't for you then. They display extreme mastery of their instruments, and to be honest this song is extremely rich and textural. The only thing I really wish is that the drumming was a bit more varied. But the syncopated tremolo picking and bass rolls (2:43 - 2:44) are fucking awesome. Dunno, as a guitar player I find this song to be mind blowing. Personal opinion though.

  • @PiercedGenitalia Don't make me laugh. The music doesn't even attempt innovation. It's simply rehashed material, with a bit of polish. Sure the guitars sound OK, but it doesn't go anywhere, so what's the point?

  • @dujl Innovation? Like what, over modulated guitar effects, shitty synthesizers and weird pretentious vocal mixes? If you want that, don't listen to tech death. Then again I don't see how you can insult their musicianship and writing when you listen to Messhuggah, because I know when I listen to music I want to hear the same riff base for 5 minutes. Talk about music that goes nowhere.

  • Comment removed

  • @dujl Haha. What a dick, stop trolling, both are good bands

  • @PiercedGenitalia Haha, wrong. Every part of a Meshuggah composition is unique, and contributes to a greater whole, unlike anything anywhere else. There's so much depth and atmosphere to be had; this doesn't even compare.

I just don't unerstand how you can find this "good". There is nothing inspiring about it. Just a lot of masturbatory drums and guitar play, with incomprihensible vocals. Technical Death Metal is the most boring genre of music, because it gets nowhere, fast.

  • Comment removed

  • @dujl I see. Maybe you can write them a letter asking them to dumb down their technical prowess to make it more palatable for you. Then you could explain to them that you think their music is masturbatory and boring, because they can fill more than five minutes with something other than three note diminished riffs with really shitty modal soloing, and how anymore than that isn't innovative enough. I'm sure they'll understand.

  • @PiercedGenitalia Haha, you make me laugh. Technical prowess is not a substitute for song writing and creativity. Some of the most technically proficient players make the most uninteresting music, yet some use it to take their expression to the next level. However this is not the case here. This is technical proficiency displaying standard song writing and old ideas. In 30 seconds Meshuggah accomplishes more than these guys do on an entire album. Sad but true. Lacking, your insight is - Yoda.

  • @dujl Now you sure don't understand the term "technical" we are not talking about atmosphere's and crap here. They are talented + why don't you just go listen to something else instead of coming with statements that are useless.

  • @demonicblessings They are talented in what regard? Playing instruments at fast paced tempos or writing music? Music is about the overall expression, not exclusively how many notes you can play in rapid succession. Get real, noob.

  • @dujl Can't you hear the beauty? now you are starting to talk about taste and opinions - which wont change the fact that they are talented in playing technical music... which is pretty much what this genre is about, you cant compare these bands to each other.

  • @demonicblessings No, I'm talking about innovation, and they have none. Stop sucking.

  • @dujl I can tell for now that you have no idea what you are talking about what so ever.

  • @demonicblessings No, I have every idea what I'm talking about. If you're gonna tell me this is unique, then you're a fool.

  • @dujl Now i think its hard to talk with a closeminded meshuggah fan which thinks that one genre or one band is the best, its kinda depending on your taste. Now "innovation" - just learned that word? You like saying it. Now what is the innovation you are looking for? What makes meshuggah so amazing.. oh i see.. they are very rare, dude.. no they are no better than these guys. Stop making completely useless statements, you clearly never touched an instrument. over and out.

  • @demonicblessings Lmao. Learn to argue. You're making no sense whatsoever.

  • @dujl You are the one that can't tell me why Meshuggah is better than this. Why dont you just go away if you dislike this genre?

  • @demonicblessings I think I've told you enough times. Are you stupid?

I'm only lingering because you keep posting stupid replies.

  • @dujl The only one who is a stupid ignorant dumbfuck here is you. You keep saying that they aren't talented because you mean that playing fast and technical has nothing to do with talent but over-using synth and playing regular riffs is? Its about taste you idiot and now the only one who failed with his argument here is YOU because you cant tell me why they are so good, what makes them great? You call them unique, they create a atmosphere? All music do that, if you like it. CONTINUED.

  • @dujl my last words are going to be easy to say: YOU FAIL :)

  • @demonicblessings Too bad for you they're just as meaningless as your existence.

  • @dujl @demonicblessings meshuggah and decrepit birth both are great stop bitching about who is better

  • Comment removed

  • @dujl Dude, you can't compare anybody to Meshuggah. They're geniuses Stop complaining. :P

  • @dujl Get back to a meshuggah page. Your comment fits there very well.

  • @dujl I'm glad you don't like it. It saves the band from having idiots as fans.

  • @Ryu12543 U mad? I don't see how you could like this and not be an idiot. It's medicore.

  • @dujl Yeah I'm super pissed off brah.

  • @dujl This shit is mediocre, so just run far, far away and never return to this video except to reply to this comment, but then you must go away once again because your presence here is upsetting to this truly amazing music and its truly amazing fans.

  • @AlienSpace666 I think you being upset stems from some deeper emotional trauma, which consequently may lead you to seek out solace in music of quality below that which a harmonious human being normally would.

  • @dujl I didn't sense one indication in what I said that would lead anyone to think i'm upset. If people can't respect great, melodic, technical death metal.. then that's not my problem. I would love to find out what you consider harmonious.

  • @AlienSpace666 Oh, sorry, I assumed you would be one of the music's fans. Clearly I was mistaken. My apologies, good sir!

Also, don't take what I'm saying very seriously. I would advise against it, but don't trust me.

  • this song caused my girlfriend to give birth.... the problem is i didnt know she was pregnant

  • @HerCorpseReanimates the real problem is my fuckin child support payments being so high.loljk :)

  • i love how raw this is. people often confuse mess with raw. this is a band not a product. but its also a good band.

  • who is seeing them march at the whiskey in hollywood!!!???

    going to be fucking awesome

  • Can't wait to play with these dudes March 19th in Buffalo!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck Yeah. Going to see them the 25th!!

  • @PsychoReaper49 SEEING THEM IN MARCH! WOOO

  • i think i just came... several times

  • I can't get into this stuff. Too much melody for me...
